  1. Yea, about 5 seconds for the first one, 7 for the second, then CANCELADO....nice Torrent is your friend
  2. I just finished watching episode 26. The series definitely leaves me wanting more. There was some good character development during the entire series, and I found myself getting attached to most of them compared to Yamato Resurrection or the live action. The characters in Resurrection seemed dead and lifeless, and in contrast, the characters in the live action seemed overacted and way too over the top. The animation was incredible overall, even better than Resurrection, and the designs of the ships and the characters were far better. They updated enough just to make it cool, but didn’t sway from the original so much where it was unrecognizable. Music and sound effects were perfect, lots of use of the original music (really hated the excessive orchestra music in Resurrection). The type 3 rounds, couldn’t get enough of those, and it was cool how they integrated their use into the story. Some of the battle scenes seemed to emulate traditional sea battles from WWII. It was a bit unrealistic (like why would the enemy approach from above where all the AA guns are instead of from underneath the ship where there are none), but awesome nonetheless. It really didn’t matter to me at the end because the awesomeness outweighed the need for things to be explained logically. The tone of the story was mostly serious overall, but once in a while, some humour was thrown in and just in the right amounts and the right times. There seemed to be a lot of fan service, and when they did throw it in there, it was so blatantly obvious, but not unwelcome, haha! The story overall didn’t leave me with a wtf feeling at the end, no unnecessary or needless deaths like Resurrection and the live action. Some scenes had the wife in tears, though for me, it was just a matter of dust in the eyes or something like that. I definitely want to see more as it went by far too fast. The only crappy thing about this series is it will be really, really hard to top.
  3. That's pretty sweet, looking forward to the build-up and some higher resolution shots. WM Cheng, when are you going to start building the 1/350 beast?
  4. Why does Lambo insist on using conventional doors on their baby lambo? Would it be too much to ask to have the scissor doors on it? Haha! I guess it all started with the Cala:
  5. To be honest, I think the live action shots from that Pachinko commercial were better.
  6. Haha, I think you're missing the point here. It doesn't matter if I can take criticism or not, I'm not the one who proclaimed that I was an artist and that I can take criticism. I didn't post a horrible review on youtube, you did Anyway, better luck next time
  7. Yeah, I wonder what the reasoning is to model it after the chunkie monkey? Maybe the yammies didn't circulate much down there when they started making this film?
  8. Well, you weren't able to keep me interseted in the first 10 seconds, by the time I got to 20, I decided I'd had enough, but I toughed it out to 30 and decide you were wasting my time. It's not my job to stay interested in watching that drivel, you failed to keep me interested. Saying that I have ESP and calling everyone who hates your review an Internet Tough Guy is just name-calling because you can't handle critique, contrary to what you claim. There's nothing tough about what people are saying, nobody's losing there temper, swinging fists and getting into bar fights over your review. I say it very matter-of-factly, "it was crap". If it helps, I'll add a smiley so it doesn't appear so aggressive Calling a critique crap on the other hand, is a clear indication that you cannot handle the criticism. I'm not the one out there, prancing around youtube, claiming that I'm an artist......you are. If you want to film yourself and put it out for public viewing, prepare for public ridicule, you're not everbody's cup of tea. Sure, it's your right to respond, but then don't go around calling yourself an artist (because your video clearly indicates that you are not), prancing around saying things like you can take criticisim, because clearly you can't. And uh, happy new year
  9. Tough guy? No tough guy here, I'm the nicest guy in the world, but if my opinion of your review hurt your feelings and calling me a tough guy makes you feel better, well, whatever works for you. You claim you're an artist and welcome criticism, then welcome the opinion that your review came across as unwatchable. Ach, I just threw that in there because our friend anibioticab was using "gaijin" when gaikokujin (even that's a bit sketchy) is clearly called for....sometimes he comes across as a bit right-wing, but hey, that's okay right, we're all here to have a good time
  10. Then you can't fault them for trying, definitely an excellent effort from a fan. Macross fans in North America or Japan are free to attempt the same thing, or top it
  11. I went and watched it, found it shorter than I expected. Was craving for more when it ended.....crappy thing to wait a year to see the rest.
  12. I turned it off after about 32 seconds....what a waste of time, I am amazed you got as far as 5 minutes of that crap.
  13. But it's not backed by HG right? This is just a misinformed fan who hasn't discovered Macross in it's original form right?
  14. The first mistake was to use the title 47 ronin, They should have just come up with some other title, and it might not have met such harsh criticism. If you turn your brain off for just a second, and disconnect the notion that this film has anything to do with Chushingura/47 ronin, then you might find it about as entertaining as say LOTR, Star Wars, Avatar, Pirates of the Carribean or Godzilla. But because they felt the need to add some credibility to the story, they completely sunk this ship.
  15. Ok, so what's the deal here, did we figure out if this is a fan film or a studio production?
