Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, I have to agree, that his fall was horribly written, and poorly acted out. I tried to find info on what happened to Rex as well, but all I got was he left the 501st.....read somewhere that Cody killed him, but there was nothing official on it. The Clones and Order 66 was explained, but what I was wondering was what happens to them after? When Fives lost his $hit and wanted to kill Jedi, he also lost his personality momentarily. If the chip in their head works properly, do they stay in that trance-like state for the rest of their lives, or do they revert and get their individual personalities back? If they stay automatons, then there's no worry, no questions, but if they revert, there's going to be a big WTF from the clones, just like Fives experienced after killing squid-head. Yeah, they're supposed to obey orders without question, but we've seen evidence of that not always being true. The series built up a huge fan base for the Clones themselves, the writers went to the trouble to build them up, give them individual characters, likeable ones too, so to have them all instantly turn into mindless zombies after Order 66 kind of blows. Watching the Jedi Order was like watching a victim in a horror movie going into a dark basement alone where Freddy Kruger is waiting to cut them up. You know it's going to happen, you scream at the television for them not to go there, but they do anyways and get *ucked, haha! I can't believe they wasted two whole episodes on Jar Jar in that last season.- 1217 replies

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Digging up old threads....wonder if anyone else just finished putting in their time trying to catch up with what everyone else did months ago? I think they could have gone on longer. What I was asking myself throughout the entire series was if Episode III were animated, would it blend with the series? Where they left off, I would say not quite. Questions that left me hanging: What happened to Rex? What happened to Ashoka? What happened to Maul? Reasons I couldn't tie the series to the films: Could this Anikin slaughter younglings? No. Too much good in him to get deranged enough to flip sides and do that. Could these clones slaughter Jedi without remorse afterwards? Doubtful. Wish Anikin was more messed up before he turned to the dark side in Ep III. Would have been good to see him with more disfigurement, more machine, more psychological issues before he went ape-$hit in the Jedi temple. Would have been awesome if he was full-on black mask Vader by the end of Ep. II or at least middle of Ep III. Anyway, just gripes, and there's nothing that can be done about it now. The Anikin that is “redeemed” by the end of Ep VI looks like the same guy that slaughtered younglings, doesn’t have a face I could trust as redeemed. He should have been thoroughly messed up, both physically and mentally by the time he got to that point in his life. Then when he does get redeemed, his image is of the human we physically recognize as when he was still mostly good. Maybe Star Wars Rebels will fill in some of those gaps, hopefully address what happened to Rex, Ashoka and maybe explore some more stuff about the clone troopers. This series really got me attached to some of those characters, so it really sucks that they all ended up as faceless Stormtroopers/cannon fodder of Ep IV, V and VI.- 1217 replies

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?
peter replied to Macross007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Cool looking bike on it's own and I like it, but in an Akira film, Kaneda's bike HAS to look like this: Sick effort on the fan's part, that is an awesome short film, and I love how they adapted scenes from the manga. WB should be so lucky to make something even close to being this awesome. Would have been great if they did a Japanese language dub in there, just to suck in some JDM fans. -
Talking about feet, I remember seeing an SD Godzilla years ago where he stepped on something and he was checking his foot. Hilarious looking figure, but that sort of says that Godzilla's supposed to have some bigger feet no? He stands upright on his hind legs, sort of like T-Rex (except he's a bit lazier and just drags his tail around), so why does he have Brotosaurus feet?

Looking forward to this new series. Just started watching the Clone Wars, sort of stopped middle of season 4, so I started up again. Is it me, or did they drop some sort of Easter egg in season 4? Maybe it's just me, if Luke and old Ben were animated, I'd figure they'd look like these guys.

Haha, I've always said she's more suited for porn, but i think the level of acting in Brazzers is still beyond her capabilities. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but she might be better suited for something like *ucking Machines, or something where she doesn't really need to "Act" or interact with other actors in any sort of dialogue.

Cool, is the torrent available already? I wasn't going to pay any money to see this film, but if I'm bored this weekend, I might download it.

People are talking about the stumpy feet, which do kind of look weird. I think they left enough of the original for me not to cry that my childhood had been raped, but the feet do look kind of weird.

Holy $hit, that's the funniest thing I've ever read. "It worked great on screen". That satanic clown orgy you call Transformers looked as bad on screen as they did in the stills. Back to Fatzilla.....I have hopes that you're right on this one because I've been looking forward to this one for a while.

No, you are definitely not alone, the original definitely looked goofy, and over the top unrealistic. It’s sort of like pro wrestling in a way, we know it’s over the top fake, but we still want to watch it. I’m sure that the new Godzilla will look awesome on the big screen, but so far, the toys have sucked big fat slimy balls. I definitely see gills on the new toy, not sure if this is happening in the film.

Something I noticed on the new toy, he has gills. Did any of the originals ever have gills? I never noticed it before.

I saw this the other day and just had to have it for my desk at work. The toy for the 2014 movie looks pretty crappy. I like my 1989 version better. That's not to say I don't like the 2014 version, I just think the toy sucks

Uh, dude, did you miss all the Godzilla movies where he is totally destroying everything in sight? I think the vast majority of Japanese have disassociated Godzilla as a bad guy because the sets are so obviously fake, that every time he takes down a skyscraper or steps on a house, they know its fake, or assume its empty. This new Godzilla is done with the best special effects applied to the franchise yet, with BODIES strewn all over the place, you see the faces in buildings that Godzilla pancakes. Its more realistic than previous iterations, and they cant accept their idol for what he is a force of nature. "This is nothing but the typical Yankee notion that Godzilla is a cruel destroyer." Im not even surprised a bit about ignorant comments like this. Theres ignorance on both sides of the water, just another day and no need to get worked up over it.
