Who would you rather have as a passenger?

Someone mentions "mile high", and sheryl's lead zooms to five. how 'bout that? -
That's a bit harsh. As far as I know, there haven't been any major timeline/continuity inconsistencies. the only reason the issue of continuity was raised (yet again) was the difference of appearance of Exedole. Other than the designs, i think the macross universe has done relatively well when it comes to continuity. So basically, we do know what's going on in the same universe. sure there may be differences in design, doesn't make the events less true, though. Also, I actually found Kawamori's "different media interpretations" concept of the macross universe quite interesting.

Sometime between 1997 and 1998 (can't remember exactly) on VHS. I think I saw the movie first. blew my mind away, not because it was a Macross sequel, but because of the dogfights. jeezus, my first viewing of the last fight between Isamu and Guld... I can only wonder how I looked like then while staring at the screen in disbelief, and how close my jaw was to the ground. Since then, I have both the series and the movie on DVD, and watched them regularly. But i'm pretty sure that legendary VHS tape is still lying around in my house somewhere. -
What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0

That's all you needed to say, really. Hook line and sinker. One movie i've been dying to see is the live action Higurashi movie. I loved the anime. and i loved the trailer. I think it was released a while back, but for the life of me i can't find a fansubbed version yet. Another one i want to see is the live action Yatterman movie. it's so full of camp and cheese, i'm sure it's gonna be tons of fun. and besides, Kyoko Fukada in Doronjo costume looked H-O-T. -

Bruce Campbell's Right Hand, and the Romero Kill Troops. It can't get any better than that! I loved how virtually indestructible the zombies were. Old Boy was crazy wonderful. -
On par with Milla, or second best to Milla? I can never remember exactly.

Hell, they're ALL risky. right now, Klan klan seems to be the safest bet. as long as you're not waiting for her to macronize. -
No super soldier adama please! Yup, I agree that those plotlines could make for good movies. But what big-time studio would possibly greenlight a Brian Singer-helmed blockbuster movie without depicting the human-cylon war? The prequel ideas would probably be approved for direct to video movies or mini-series. I think even the "cylon war" aspect wouldn't be approved because they would probably like to capitalize on any remaining nostalgia over the original series. And besides, i can imagine it now... Exec: "You mean to tell me that they're all ROBOTS?? Where's the human aspect? we can't have a movie without a human aspect, for chrissakes!"

While i'm not at all excited about a major movie based on the original BSG (given that i still have withdrawal symptoms over Ron Moore's BSG), I can also see how difficult it would be to remake the latter BSG into a holywood movie. after all, what more of the story is there to tell, without contradicting series dogma?

Watched first 2 episodes of To Aru Majutsu no Index. A bit formula, but i found it interesting so far. Anyone else seen this? -
Ah. Then I will again have to argue that when it comes to "luck", Hikaru is the most skilled sumbitch in the macross universe.

Well, i watched the first episode of Shikabane-Hime (Corpse Princess) over the weekend, and i didn't find it interesting enough to get to episode 2. found it boring and a bit cliche. does it get better with later episodes? -
Cool. it'd be a nice tribute if this will be used to rescue Ranka from the first attack.

Or... if the blind are quite satisfied to be knowingly led by the blind, who can blame us for rolling our eyes a little bit?

Whats the next macross series?
dreamweaver13 replied to Thai Boxer 9901's topic in Movies and TV Series
Shoji, i'd just like a double-serving of all my favorite genres in one new series please? A love triangle with music, set in a western. With new VFs. with wandering samurai. and zombies. -

WHAT!?! NO WAY? FATE/STAY NIGHT!?? When i first watched F/SN, i knew it was a game, but i didn't know what kind. but when i got to the episode where the guy had to heal saber by lying on top of her, i thought to myself, "oh THAT kind of game." -
Movies that were better than the book
dreamweaver13 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
While i'm always for loyalty to the "source material" as much as possible, this time my vote is for the movie version. in my opinion, the razing of the shire had always been anti-climactic. sure, it showed how strong and mature the hobbits have become, but doesn't the whole trilogy show that already? And besides, if you still added the whole shire saga... how many false endings would that make for the movie?? -
You're right, you don't. they have their chance to be a solid part of the macross community again, but they didn't take it. sad, but what can ya do? live and let live, i guess.
