Real World Technical References of Macross Variable Aircraft
wmkjr replied to charger69's topic in Movies and TV Series
I was thinking of that too but liked the rear tail of the SH-3. I'd say a mix of both. As for the Tunny, someone was looking for the YC-14:- 278 replies

Real World Technical References of Macross Variable Aircraft

Not a variable aircraft. Maybe should change topic to real world references of Macross items. Siorkorvsky Sea Sargent: Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King- 278 replies

Today's suggested work schedule: 1hr- filling out paperwork, computer stuff, important work stuff 7hrs- transforming, swooshing, reviewing new purchases 30 minute lunch break looking at new purchases. I'd say "let's call it a day for working" -
I wonder if someone decided " Let's make the front of the gunpod inline with the lower intakes on the D" but forgot all about the arrestor hook? Someone gotta ask Mr. K.

Very nice! Love the background!

This is my new screensaver! Maybe the pros can chime in but I'm also learning too so this is my personal opinion. Are you going for the more dramatic look a single light source gives? I was just wondering because multiple light sources will get rid of shadow areas and highlight the valk more but give it less dramatic effect. Also where you place the light source in reference to the subject can make a world of difference. Play with the locations till you find one you like and go with it. Light color temperatures can also effect the pic. Most important is find what works for you and HAVE FUN!

Nice setup! Will take pics of the 7 set up later on today.

Cool shots!

Yes it fits. Check out Saburo's YF-25 pics here or on Flickr for reference.
-
Which setup are you talking about? The 6 valk setup on my Flickr account or the 7 valk setup in the pic above?
-
Not hurting anything for me. I think it's just the weight of the valks causes the feet to "smoosh" onto the glass, which is good if you want it to be firmly planted. It's only a concern if you move your bases around a lot but even that is minor as I just grab the center part of the adapter base and gently guide it off the glass. How it handles in the long run we'll have to wait and see.
-
If you send him a sample VB-6 to prototype I'm sure he can make one . Especially with the upcoming release coming up. Also the feets do have a bit of grip to my glass shelves but I just have to be careful when I take them out to "play" . The VF-0D adapter works quite well as I finally got my Zero shelf set up:

From the album: Yetistand
My Yetistands under normal use in my cabinet -
Yes, if they are the same (which I think it will) it's easy as unscrewing the screw under the gear. I tried it with the Yamato but it doesn't fit,too narrow.
-
The VF-0D nose section is just slightly narrower than the old zeros. Guess I'll just wait for the new A/S too come out then. I don't think the VF-0A proportions are wrong as it's more of the 0D being a renewal/revised version. Also, I thought the series was CAD designed so no anime magic or am I wrong?

@Nightingale nice shots! What type of stand is that? Nice stickering Derex
-
Yes. With extra washers in between the arms for friction. I put in a disclaimer to the setup. Ouch! Those legs must've been pegged in super tight. It looks like a lot of force caused the leg tab to stress and crack/warp. Was the legs pulled straight up and down? Or was it pulled with a rotated motion? There looks to be stress marks on the left side near the crack in the center on the first pic.

Same setup as above except reversed the rear XL arm direction. Got it up to seven VF-1's now. Zero quad: 1 Standard Yetistand base 1 standard arm 2 double arm 4 XL arms 2 elbows 2 M5 80 x 30 Metric hex bolt from hardware store (This is the only thing that is modified. Everything else is from Yetistore) 2 extra rubber washers from extra arms lying around Adapters to fit Disclaimer: I'm doing this knowing full well I'm not using the setup as it was intended to be. It holds extremely well but don't wanna get Yeti in trouble as there are hardware not intended to be used in the original design. There are ways to do the quad with standard Yeti parts but I haven't tried the setups.
