  1. Awesome movie. "SON, THE RUSSIANS DON'T TAKE A DUMP WITHOUT A PLAN..."
  2. got this headed my way; just watched the film again for the first time in a while, and remembered just how damned cool looking a U-Boat class i had always thought the TYPHOON Boomers were; - my father had built me the old REVELL 1/400 OCTOBER movie series kit, which i had for quite some time before it got broke and thrown out. this Korean bootleg, or whatever it is supposed to be, also in 1/400, should prove a fine substitute...
  3. NEVERMIND, DELETE...
  4. agreed. kind of a SYD MEAD-ish sort of series of takes on the traditional VF-1 design, IMO. i'd especially appreciate a 1/60 Yammie iteration of the 2JA, though i'm in no position whatsoever to be paying $900 for it...
  5. EVERYTHING seems to be headed in that general direction anymore... MOST annoying, IMO...
  6. She's Finished♥
  7. (( MERYL; it's a .50 Action Express! i'm more comfortable with it than i am with my Bra... )) (( ME; ah. good for you. i've one of those too, actually, so Meh... - (though it's merely an Airsoft replica, designated as .44 ) - ))
  8. if you consider 10" tall "small scale" compare them to the old late-90's McFarlanes, for starters; anyhow, i've heard rumors that S-E is discontinuing the MGS-1 PA line after Meryl's release. any credence to this?
  9. (NOTE; i haven't given up on that 1/48 F-14. in fact, i'm nearly as finished with it as i'll ever be. - i just want to get around to smoothing up some rough spots and finishing some fine-detailing before i go properly showing it around here) (NOTE 2: i HAVE largely given up, however, on that 1/72 HASE F-14. it's just too demanding a kit for me, i feel. - i still work on it, here and there, but i do not feel it will turn out anything as well as the 1/48 REVELL i'm working with has so far. - we'll see, maybe a year from now, perhaps less. just please don't expect anything terribly presentable from it, in the event - that i actually DO finish the model before the next ice-age sets in...) (( SEE HERE for half-assed progress to date on HASE 1/72 F-14; http://i291.photobuc...F-147-20-12.jpg )) my latest project, gonna be an easy and fun one; -this is a simple pre-painted snap-fit. only painting i'll really have is her petticoat, (slip) ribbon on her panties, and minor touch-up of the sprue points on her pre-painted green hair ribbon. i paid $38 and change shipped for her, which was worth it for that adorable box-art alone, IMO. the figure looks to promise to be very, very lovely, though, and even the manual is a very nice, enjoyable read. as an aside, i was once a HUGE ROCKMAN/MEGA MAN fan through the early/late 1990's. i had, and still own, EVERY ONE of the NES MM entries, from 1 through 6, as well as MMX 1,2,4,5,6, and 8. i've both of the MM LEGENDS/ROCKMAN DASH games too, which have proven to be my favorite MM entries by far. to date, i most greatly enjoy them, just as much today as i ever have, which is to say, a LOT. while, on the whole, i am not quite so much the MM nut today that i was in the 90's, this most adorable little figure kit REALLY manages to dredge up that old fan-geekiness BIG TIME, as you may have just already surmised from my tirade here...
  10. pretty much the entirety of my collection, at present; my next addition will almost certainly be a VF-11B, (would rather have the 11C, but too pricey) and possibly a YF-21 after that. would also love to replace my YF-19 1/60v.I with a D.N. if i can ever happen upon one at a reasonable price...
  11. these sweeties♥ will likely be my next Anime figure acquisitions;
  12. damn... i don't suppose it transforms, does it? i'll probably have to get it regardless!! EDIT; http://www.gunjap.net/site/?p=76121 DAMN, that's cool!! a must-have!! it's a bit dusty, quite fragile, and perhaps a bit over-engineered, but here you are. it transforms, too;
  13. it ain't "better" but it ain't "bad" either. some get "spoiled" by the new, superior tech, and the older formats are instantly no longer good enough, nor often even tolerable for them. that's all well and good, to each their own. not -everyone- is that way, however. some people out there -a minority, for sure- can still enjoy something for what it is, regardless of how out of date/obsoleted it may be... as i said, i've BR myself now, and, while it is very good indeed, it hasn't once made me suddenly feel like kicking VHS, LD and DVD off to the curb. these formats are what they are, and they are very good for what they are, at that. one day, sooner rather than later, BRD will be just as obsoleted as it's predecessors. regardless, it too will be good for what it is, and an indelible part of Home Video history... i don't know, i'd think Minmay-chan's Panties just as cute in SD, but i guess that's just me...
  14. i had figured so much. i KNEW i had remembered them being smaller in images i've seen around...
  15. it's got all the appeal in the world to me, however, having a reasonably formidable stereo-based Hi-Fi system attached to my 46" LCD and related video gear. all my vintage sources, from VHS and LD to DVD, look as good or better than i've ever recalled. i've Blu-Ray too, now, and, while it does indeed look and sound as good as the best i've ever seen, it isn't exactly the "Second Coming" for me that it seems to be for most, and doesn't destroy my enjoyment of the older formats that i maintain in the slightest bit. i guess i just accept and appreciate all existing video formats for what they are, pluses, as well as minuses, much as an audiophile does with vinyl records...
  16. naw, just a DESERT EAGLE .44 Airsoft that i just recently got for cheap. i was fiddling with it when the 1J came that morn... 1986. LEGO produced the set for many years, including a complete package redesign, but the one i have is an '86 original that my mother had gotten me at the time, when i was but a wee lad of perhaps five, and saved it for me till i was a bit older and truly ready for it...
  17. AH, S%$T!!!!
  18. well now! my life is finally back to it's former state of Zen!! that replacement 1/60 1J Hik T.V. that i had ordered just arrived from HK, and i only ordered it about a week ago! now -that's- shipping! better still, it's the re-designed hip-bar-cavity version, and -everything- on it is absolutely as tight as can be!! :D :D
  19. now why wouldn't this thing include at least gunpod and wing ordinance as standard accessories, like the majority of Valk toys ever made?
  20. please tell me that those are the stock tail fins, and not a fan-mod!! GOD, this beauty just -HAS- to be my next Valk purchase! can anyone here turn me to the best, most affordable source they know of? i've only been able to find a few just shy of $200shipped so far...
