  1. i had a 1/48 Focker too, 1A Hikaru as well, the very first two 1/48 releases, in fact. i just glued the flaps and cones in place, i was so fed up with them all...
  2. a Double Nuts would be nice too, IMHO... 'cause all us 1/48 VF-1 owners, former and current, know full well what a tremendous hassle those movable wing flaps were/are. the Gimmick just isn't worth it...
  3. i'd like to say that that is absolutely impossible, but with the feats YAMATO/ARCADIA have pulled off of late, i'm beginning to believe that their "Mr.K" is capable of engineering just about anything...
  4. indeed the perennially flowering VF-1 series is the singular, almost guaranteed, golden goose of MACROSS merchandising. MACROSS' own answer to STAR TREK's NCC-1701REFIT movie Enterprise, if you will...
  5. the old ROBOTECH thread was still a fun little place to blow off steam and have some laffs at HG's expense, i miss it dearly, myself. sure, that thread was indeed circular and repetitive, it was ZEN, dammit!! further, i never see or hear from member "Seito Kaiba" anymore since the closure of our Romper Room of RepetitionTM and he could really be a gas!!
  6. i'll be getting a HI-METAL 1S Focker from a fellow MWer soon, and i strongly suspect it will be my high watermark for BANDAI produced VF-1's, and will probably be in no danger of being displaced in any way by the Focker 1S variation of this kit i've on preorder, barring a redesign of this model's multiple proportional aberrations before that version's September release date...
  7. HONEST TO GOD, this is YAMATO/ARCADIA we're talking about here!! this is going to be a 1/60 KANZEN HENKEI release, at least as well-designed as the Yammie 19k/S/F/P, no doubt about it whatsoever...
  8. what is that? someone's custom scratchbuild or kitbash or WONFES exclusive or something?
  9. knurled pins for key areas such as the backpack hinge? thought i saw something of that sort in one of those proto photos back there...
  10. that cover art/styling is what really sold me here. it actually looks like a direct successor to the grand old model kit boxart of the 1980's. and while the kit itself sure has it's fair share of flaws and then some, i don't real feel it's any worse than the old IMAI/BANDAI 1/72 parts former, it is, in fact far better (save for the probable lack of white metal for the landing gear and other major stress/weight bearing parts) and i think the Focker -1S edition will do very well indeed as a spiritual successor to that old ROBOTECH CHANGERS VEXAR (IMAI 1/72 VF-1S Focker) that i had as a pre-teen child so many moons ago...
  11. really not sure what all the grumbles are all about concerning the 1/60 VF-19 series' GERWALK stance. seems like i can get all the "aggressive stance" i could ever want out of my -19S;
  12. now that is ONE HELL of a SCOOP, SCOOPUDA!
  13. OH SHUT UP YOU...
  14. Pre-ordered. queer-looking bitch as this bird might be, if i'm ever to be giving even one of these blasted things a shot, the Focker -1S is definitely the one i want to get suckered for...
  15. i saw both of the first two ALIEN films for the first time back when i was around 7/8ish, 'round 1988 or so. somehow they actually didn't even scare me at all. make of that what you will... don't you mean when he unloaded his GU-11 all over that Zentran soldier?
  16. JAN. '82 b-day here... interesting way of looking at it, never really thought about that. still, don't think i've much interest in owning this variant myself though...
  17. i cannot help but maintain; couldn't they have at least attempted to observe the many great things that Yammie had gotten right with the 1/60v.II, and built upon that solid foundation, rather than go absolutely crazy with the whole thing like this?
  18. still not as good as HKC, but a decent enough alternative for if and when HKC's stock dries up...
  19. sweet faceā™„
  20. never could figure out why that damned series was such a blasted sensation several years on back there. i mean, there was some really good stuff getting U.S. releases back around that time that no one ever even seemed to notice...
