Cool! A weather version could be available soon. And I thought that I will have to wait for 4-5 years for a weathered version like the 1/48 VFs.

Macross Frontier Episode 24 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*

Wow! Alto went out like Isamu Dyson's plunge into the SDF-1. There are still a lot of unknowns at this point. Where is the rest of the Macross Galaxy fleet? Are they all on this evil plan by Grace? How was Mr. Richard Biler connected to the Vajra? Why does the Queen Vajra look like the face plate and shoulder section of the Meltran Q-rau? At this point, it seems there will probably be a more than just ending at Episode 25. If so, then there might be a movie version (or 2-hr episode) that explains some of this. Or there is always season 2... -
This sets were made for displaying the SDF-1. But they were also made for Macross fans. I hope to bring them to the next MacrossCon. The 1/5000th scale set measures about 20 inches deep by 30 inches wide. The cliffs are about 4 inches high. The 1/20000th scale set is about 12 inches by 15 inches. And Misterryno, if I were to build a 1/60 scale version, I better start looking for a real deserted island... I'll post more photos into the photo gallery when I get back from work travel.

The Island: Part 2 (Circa 2009) Alright guys/gals, Here is the completed 1/5000th Macross Island set, or rather mostly Macross City set. This took sometime to finish because all the buildings and background scenery. I tried recreating the set to match what was shown in Epsiode 1 of Macross:SDF. The 1/5000th scale SDF-1 is from Imai. Now it has a pretty decent place to be displayed in. And about the 1999 Island, the ocean water was just several shades of blue gloss spray paint. The lighter blue was painted closer to the land to mimic the shallower areas. The speckled water surface was done after applying several layers to give some wave roughness. The island itself is made out of towel paper dipped into a diluted Elmer's glue solution. It hardens just like plaster based material. Brown paint was then applied. Woodland Scenic's green grass was then applied. This set did not take much time to build since it was rather small compared to the 1/5000th version. Plus it was done while I was working on the larger one. If I can make it to next year's MacrossCon2009, I will bring these sets. Deculture!

From the album: Macross Island: Ataria
Macross Island (Ataria) at around year 2009 before its first flight. The Macross SDF-1 is resting in a large UN Spacy base surrounded by Macross City. The 1/5000th scale model of the SDF-1 is from Imai. -
Macross Island (a.k.a. Ataria) after the crash landing of a giant size space fortress (later named as the SDF-1) in 1999 and 2009.

I just got my first 1/60 VF-1S with Super Strike parts from HLJ. All I have to say is WOWWWW!!!!!! This is a huge improvement from the 1/48 versions. The item feels solid. Paint is clean. Parts fit and finish is excellent. Some decals are tampo on instead of stickers. All the joints operate smoothly. I have not played with it yet, but my initial impression is excellent. I will have to take a closer look at this piece of fine art before making my final judgement on Yamato's 1/60 scale version 2.0 valks.

The Island.... No, not the one that Ewan MaGregor and Scarlett Johansson were trying to get to in that Michael Bay film. But this one... This is a small Macross Island diorama for the 1/20000th scale ARII SDF-1. The period is circa late 1999 after the uncontrolled descent of the Macross battle fortress plowed onto a small South Pacific island (Ataria) and wiping out 75% of the local plants and wildlife. But wait, there's more! Here is sneak peek of the next part of this project Ten years later, humans continued the habitat destruction by paving over 1/3 of the island. This is 1/5000th scale diorama is still a work in progress. More photos and details to come.

Like the details added to the ATST. Somehow, these things remind me of the Regult Tactical Pods.

Oh no, Luca is going to get his hand cut off in the next episode. -
Is it too soon to ask for a "weathered" version of the Tomahawk? Seriously, I don't want to wait 5-6 years until that version comes out.

Maybe there will be a flashback episode for Michael. I can see Klan Klan sitting down with Sheryl and telling her how she first met Michael. Similar to how Claudia and Misa had a talk of Roy over a bottle of wine on a cold rainy night. -
Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
ron5864 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I hope the price is not really going to be in the $40-$48 range. That is a lot for a small figure. The Toynami 1/100 VF-1s are about $17-$20 a piece, but they are kind of low in details and quality. If these Bandai ones have sturdy build with superior details, I can see $30-$35 a piece being somewhat reasonable. -
