  1. From the album: Destroid Monster HWR-00-MK II

Yellow Submarine ball joint replaced the starndard non-rotating bar joint. This gives the figure a more stable stance.

  5. From the album: Destroid Monster HWR-00-MK II

The joints were added to allow for more articulation of the legs and posture.
  6. It's a good thing I have not ordered anymore of the 1/72. They are a little small for display but good for being in a diorama. But a 1/48 VF-25 will definitely be more than handful since it will be larger than Yamato's 1/48 VF-1 line.
  7. Yup, the regular flu kills about 36,000 people a year in the United States. But the newer flu gets more attention by the press.
  8. That VF-1A tan color is more proper looking than the VF-1J version. But since I already have the 1/48 valk, I'll pass on this.
  9. I backed off the screws in the shoulders by about 1/3 of a turn each. That seemed to have reduced the rotational effort by half and still do well at holding up the arms with armor and gun. The screws can be tighten again if the joints starts to become sloppy. So for now, there is no problem to report.
  10. Yup! I agreed on that. Unless the model railroad community comes out with 1/60 figures soon, the 1/48 is the best for displaying in a diorama setting.

I wish I had a toy like that when I was at his age.
  12. The Tamiya Weathering Kits are a snap for soot and dirt effects. Plus they are easy to apply and difficult to screw up.
  13. I'll prefer the 1/48s as long as I have space at my house.
  14. Thanks Macrossman. But wait....there's more! A flesh color paint and surprised (South Park-ish) look were added to Hikauru and Minmei.
  15. Here's a VF-1D with some frequent flyer miles on it...
  16. Here's that medium weathered VF-1D as promised... The weathering is less intense and more subtle than that VF-1J.

I am surprised too at how clean, organized and efficient it is. If Toyota had operated a toy distribution center, it would probably look like that. It puts to shame a lot of the toy and hobby stores here in the US.

That's great Macrossman. It works pretty well for the 1/60 valks.
  19. I was just weathering the 1/60 VF-1D this weekend. Let me put some photos up when I get a chance.
  20. Wow Macrossman! That's a sweet setup. It looks like you are putting that mecha bay to work.
  21. Someone need to smack those Hollywood types over the head with a fly swatter, Chidori style. Hollywood Fail!
  22. The weathering didn't even highlight the panel lines. That probably made it look a little more bland because of that. Weathering Fail!
