I just got this after winning it from MacrossCon09. The color scheme seems lighter than either in the TV or movie version. Wasn't it a dark sand tone instead of light sand? I might repaint it to match the TV color scheme and return it to next year's Con as a display piece.

Also...thanks everyone for voting for my Macross Frontier: Ranka's Rescue diorama. I will enjoy the Yamato cannon fodder 1/60 VF-1J and it will make a return next year as a display piece.

Thanks Kirik for putting the photos with commentaries and hosting the much more intense 09Con. And being an "anal" Transformation judge made the contest much more tense and comical. I thought someone was going to lose a finger transforming the valk at blinding speeds. Being so tired after the event last night, I forgot to thank the sponsors (like HLJ) and special guests (Tommy Yune, Daisuke and so on) for coming over to speak and participate. Also, having it at UCLA was a good location with good facilities and atmosphere. Even though parking was a little pricey, I hope we can do it again here. I will bring some more Macross items from my collection for next year's Con as well.

VF-1 Transformation Deathmatch between Miriya (in green) and Mitch for the VF-25 100 Series. Miriya won but Mitch was excited about the second place prize as well. No one was fatally wounded in this year's Transformation competition. Misa Hayes attended as well. More vocal performances. Here's a cheap and quick build of Klan Klan's Q-Rhae. It's not accurate, but it's something to put on my office desktop...next to the other SMS team members. This is definitely not going to be at the MacrossCon custom contest.

Can I enter Alto's paper airplane as a custom piece? Just joking...

Yea, the top of the head was white, just like the rest of the body. Plus there was some damage to the top nose section too. Maybe I can correct those at a later date.

Well, not every girl can be quick witted and composed like Sheryl... For those who would like to see it presented in a short video format, here is the link: To answer some questions...it is a 1/72 VF-25F with HO-scale(1/87) buildings, cars, cable car and so on. Ranka was custom made from an HO-scale figure. In the future, I might add a little more details and Ozma's armored VF-25S standing in front of Alto.

Here's a diorama for the MacrossCon09. It is a Macross Frontier set depicting the moments after Alto jumps into Gilliam's VF-25F, as Alto tries to protect the green-hair girl from ending like Gilliam. This was started around November '08 because the original Macross Island diorama (which was going to be at MacrossCon09) was sold to a MW member. With limited time because of work and other projects, this was going to be a challenge. So 7 months later, here is the Macross Frontier Diorama: Ranka's Rescue. Aaahhhhhh... Ranka-chan and Alto-kun meet again... What Ozma sees from above once zooming in... Frontier cable car from Powel Fishermann's to Shibuya Market Street...
