  1. Just got this armored 1/60 GBP today and modified it. How about an Armored Strike VF-1D with twin gunpods for the hell of it? Unit VF-00 with a little weathering of course. (hehe...)
  2. Both of my 1/60 Roy VF-1S and 1/60 CF VF-1J are clean with no cracks. The pins are the smooth kind. I have the VF-1D as well but it is in fighter mode in the display so I can't tell if there are cracks at the pin joints. I will check that later on. I am picking up the 1/60 armored VF-1J from the post office tomorrow so I will look into that one as well.
  3. Just Finished watching Chrome Shelled Regios, a series about a team of students from Miltary Academy that fights off mutated creatures in the distant future. I must say this is a pretty enjoyable series with the right balance of action, suspense and humor (9.5/10). The characters worked out well with good chemistry. Thoughout the series, I can't help but think how it has that "Full Metal Panic" feel to character interactions. The main character, Layfon, is an top notch teammate in the 17th Platoon who is extemely skilled at fighting but clueless about girls. Nina is the 17th Platoon captain who is skilled at leading the group and interested in Layfon but never really telling him about it. Felli is another member of the platoon with phychokinetic powers, and she also has an interest in Layfon. Felli always kicked Layfon in the shin when she gets angry ot jeolous, like how Chidori smacks Sagara in Full Metal Panic. Lots of character developement along the way with some goofy humor and situations thrown in. Layfon (excellent fighter, clueless about girls) = Sagara (excellent fighter, clueless about girls) Nina (strong headed girl who likes Layfon) = Chidori (Strong/crazy headed girl who likes Sagara) Felli (white hair girl who likes Layfon) = Tessa (white hair girl who likes Sagara) There are lots of open ends and unanswered questions after 25 episodes. So it looks like the story will continue when season 2 (Chrome Shelled Regios: Fumoffu???) comes out later this year.
  4. Just watched the movie version of Eureka Seven. How come the movie version has a different story line than the TV series? Didn't Renton first met Eureka when she crash landed her TypeZero onto his grandpa's repair shop? The movie had Dominic and Anemone in a different role. The other differences are the way Renton joined the Gekko State and the background of most of the supporting characters. Eureka seems more lively and normal than her expressionless TV counterpart. At least it ended in a similar way for both main characters. Man, I think this Eureka Seven version just got the DYRL treatment.
  5. Just finished watching Rideback. I didn't expect anything from this show but came away impressed with the character and story developement. The mecha design of the Rideback was simple but elegant. It was nice to see a story that puts a bond between the operator and mecha since that doesn't happen much in mecha anime. The other recent anime I can think of is Setsuna and his Gundam 00 which had the same bond.
  6. Thanks guys! More to come later.

    The end of the line.
  10. Looking forward to seeing GN TwinDrive on Alto's valk in the next movie, Macross 00.
  11. And kids can climb all over it like a playground set. Maybe I should add some forest animals too...

  13. From the album: Bandai 1/100 Destroid Phalanx

A rusting wreakage of a destroyed Phalanx unit in the outskirts of Alaska Base.
  14. Just finished this 1/100 Bandai Phalanx that has been destroyed and rusting in a forest near the Alaska Base. Another casualty of the conflict
  15. Here you go... Back to the 1/72 Tomahawk...does anyone know the approximate release date?
  16. With the US dollar at around 86 Yen = $1 US, this hobby is starting to get a little pricier by the week regardless of ordering from Overdrive or HLJ.
  17. I am just waiting for the weathered version of the 1/2500 SDf-1 to be annouced.... J/K
  18. I like the good articulation of this Tomahawk and the detailing. This looks more and more like something I would get. It should go well with my other 1/72 Macross models.
  19. This looks too chunky or out-of-proportion in Fighter mode. They should come out with more enemy mecha instead of more VF-1's.
  20. This is a dead end product for me at that price.... at least I have a customized WAVE 1/5000 SDF-1 for 10% of the cost.
  21. Ohhh....this is going to be epic. I mean the price as well!
  22. I use HobbyLink Japan most of the time. They have never given me any problem. But with the value of the US dollar falling, it is starting to cost more to buy directly from them. They are great for the latest items. But if I am going to buy something that has already been out, like 1/48 VF-1J, I would look for domestic vendors.
  23. Oh wow! I am definitely interested in one of these, even though I already have the ARII 1/160 scale version. Start saving $$ for this. Does anyone know if the joints are moveable?
