I'm going to take a break from building Macross stuff for a short time. This was a bit more time intense than first planned. But I still have other projects which I would like to finish. I hope I can bring both Macross Frontier City and Macross City 2 diorama to next year's Macrossworld Con'11 for those who missed it previously.

But if Bandai can just release the 1/160 Monster, that would be uber awesome.

Stumbled upon an old anime called "Iczer One." What the heck is going on here?? Girls are hardly wearing anything and being too friendly(hint hint) with each other. As Borat would say "Very nice!"

Day 2: Even more random pix... NightmareB4Macross(far left) amongst the crowd... Kirik cleans the seat before Mari sits. More crowds for the autograph signing. Command Center of this operation. Mospeada stuff. Maiden Japan's Lego VF-19?? Maiden Japan also brought in this Lego Glaug. That's it for now, I need to goto bed. Thanks to Macrossworld and UCLA Japan Anime Club staff for setting up this special Con. This was double MacrossCon all the way!

Day 2: Random Pix continues....

Day 2: More random photos.... Mari and her alter ego on stage. Tommy Yune taking a photo of Minmei(Mari). The line for Minmei's autograph goes to upstairs section. Tommy explaining the Photoshop editing techniques he uses for Robotech Con Posters. Meanwhile, Tim(from UCLA Japan Animation Club), as Nekki Bsara, wins over girls. And then Tim wins Cosplay Contest with Michael Blanc as (late entry)second place. Tim needs a girl in a white dress and hat to throw a bouquet of flowers at him! Sorry I had to bailout early due to family event. But who won the Costume Contest this year?

Guys/Gals, Here are a bunch of random photos from the Con today(Day 1). I hope the photos can explain some of the events that went on today. Lots more stuff displayed this year than last year. Again, here are a few photos of the event....

Yup. HLJ has them for 1,700Yen or around $20 (early bird price). That 1/72 Regult is a good buy for those who can't afford the 1/60 Yamato kit.

Taking Friday off of work so to start packing some of the stuff I'll be bringing. Still deciding if I should bring some more rare Macross items to display or if there is enough room at the Con. Hmmmm....

Are the upgraded parts going to be displayed at MacrossCon10? I just got my Robotech Scott Bernard Masterpiece Cyclone so it will be interesting to see how those parts look like in person.

Just started watching Dulalala. Seems to be a supernatural type show. It is a bit interesting, but I will watch a few more episodes to see where things lead to.

I have built a few of these ARII/Imai 1/72 Destroid and 1/160 Monster kits and they are a pain to get the parts to fit properly. It took a lot sanding down the mismatched parts and filling in the large gaps with puddy. If done correctly, they do come out well. Just don't expect the level of fit and finish quality as compared to today's Bandai 1/72 VF-25 series. Another thing is that the arm and feet articulations are very limited. I replaced some of the joints with Yellow Submarine ball joints.

So is the Nivarsh TypeZERO that Renton and Eureka piloted a mecha? It seems to fall in the same class as the EVA.

From the anime title, I can already tell that it was not going to involve mecha of any kind. Unless panty can transform into a stocking or garterbelt.

Are any of you "hypermiling" your car to save gas/petrol/diesel? If so, what are the gains in fuel economy? After reading about it in the news last year, I experimented with some "hypermiling" driving techniques. They do work and I got about 15% improvement in my car(Mazda3) without driving any slower. There were no illegal modifications. The only thing I did to my car was increasing the tire pressure to the maximum PSI limit, 44PSI. There is no sign of unusual tire wear after 10,000 miles.

Macross DYRL is in Bamboo Blade: Episode 7. Tamaki's kendo sensei gives her a laser disc of Macross DYRL as a gift. This was the last anime I expect to see Macross to me shown in.

WTFFF??? Macross DYRL is in Bamboo Blade: Episode 7.!!!??? Tamaki gets a gift from her kendo sensei and it is a laser disc of Macross: Do You Remember Love. This was totally unexpected!!!!

Ford is bringing compact sport hatchbacks into the North America markets again with the 247hp 2012 Focus ST. Yes!! It has been forever since the Focus SVT.

I just noticed that the 1/3000 version is actually fully assembled and painted and not a kit like the 1/2000 version.

In a way, I am not too disappointed if the movie does not happen since we all know how Hollywood remakes are kind of so so. But if they do it right, it could allow new audiences to enjoy the Macross/Southern Cross/Mospeada storyline.

Was the VF-11 used in Macross7 as well? It's been a while since I saw it but it seems familiar.
