What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
ron5864 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ergo Proxy was a bit confusing. They never really explained who or what Vincent really is and what he can do. Reeal was cold to him at first but things change a bit later on. Within this whole story, Pino was the guiding light for the group and was my favorite character in the show. But that is just my impression after watching it last year. -
Does it look like the underside of the wings have mounting points for missiles or accessories?

Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
ron5864 replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Now I am wondering if Prometheus is more of a horror movie than an action sci-fi like Cameron's Aliens. It seems like it is heading in the direction of the original Alien movie "In space, no one can hear you scream" theme. -
This looks surprisingly good. I hope this is close to the line art proportions so they don't have to reissue a VF-171 renewal version to correct all the flaws. I would get the NUNS CF version if/when it come out.

Hopefully Wes Mantooth from their rival news team makes a comeback.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

I believe it was in Fairy Tail: Episode 41 when Erza, Natsu, Lucy and Grey returned to Magnolia to find their Fairy Tail guild hall completely rebuilt and upgraded with a gift shop. It is there that Lucy found a Lucy action figure with clothes that can pop off. She freaked out when the shop keeper said it was their best selling item. Hahaha...I want one too.... -

But a Lucy action figure with the "pop-off" clothing (as seen in one of the episodes) would be the hottest item. -

Still watching Fairy Tail, up to ep. 92 now. Still good with all that crazy comical madness. Started watching Dragonaut. People piloting Dragons as military weapons. Think Evangelion mixed with Sekirei and you get the picture. -
Max and Millia's VF-22S at 55% off! Not that I will get one, but wow, what a discount.

Seeing those clips, Hudson's phrase "Game over man! Game over!" popped in my head. -
I just notice the retail price for the 1/60 VF-17 is about 24,000Yen. The similar Bandai 1/60 VF-171 is about 14,000Yen. That is a big difference in price for mostly similar valkyries. What is in Yamato's version that can justify for the 10,000Yen difference????

That looks awesome. Isn't that Revive Revival's Gadessa unit?

Can't wait for someone to do a comparison review between Bandai VF-171 versus Yamato VF-17!!!

Ok...this was how it was weathered. 1) Wipe clean with alcohol of all residue off the valk once out of the box. 2) Mask the canopy and other clear glass parts. 3) Spray a light coating of dull coat (Model Master or Tamiya) on all surfaces. 4) Use Gundam Panel Pencil to trace all panel lines and indentations. 5) Use Tamiya Weather Kit and lightly applied "soot" over panel lines with cotton Q-tips. 6) Re-spray a light layer of dull coat to seal everything in so it would not smudge with normal handling. The reason to spray a light dull coat before adding panels or weather is to allow the weathering to stick better on the surface. The surfaces on a valk right out of the box is too smooth for weathering to be applied. Ozma never destroyed his VF-25S throughout the show, so it probably has a lot more weathering and battle scars than Alto's. Hope this helps.

I would so LOL if in this 'Aliens' movie someone grabs a guitar and yells "Listen to my song!" and starts singing to the aliens. -
So far no issues with any valks. Alto's VF-25F has been sitting on the newer 4" Flightpose display for a year now with no residue marks. My older 2.5" display stands have no issues with the Yamato Vf-1s. I have a 1/72 Millennium Falcon sitting on a 2.5" Flexistand for years with no issues as well.

Other noticeable differences are: Moveable fingers. Improved gunpod with actual ventilation holes and not just black indented marks. Overall, the Renewal version weights about the same but with a flatter profile and the gunpod does not require a separate bracket to be attached to the belly. Also note the VF-25S has a two seat capability. It also comes with its own SMS display stand.

My VF-25S Renewal arrived yesterday and I noticed lots of improvements over the original. The differences are circled in red. The most obvious are the wings are able to swing completely forward. F-25F TopView.jpeg]Surface details are much improved, close to the 1/72 model kit amount of details. The fit and finish are also much tighter closer to lineart or the 1/72 model kit.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

Yeah, Zeta Gundam series was not that satisfying to watch. Kamille was kinda of jerk most of the time and had a lot of issues. Started watching Aria the Scarlet Ammo and the opening song is by Sherly Nome(May'n). -

Finished Last Exile. After watching this, it has an Eureka Seven theme to the story. But the show didn't really explain what is going on or what the setting is. Clearly, they are not on Earth and the time is probably thousands of years into the future. No explaining of what the Grand Stream is. Things are happening with airships battles. At least the story has some good characters in it which kept me watching. -
Hope Bandai makes a limited web exclusive 1:1 VF-25. Shipping is going kill your wallet or savings account.

For those of us who are not able to attend, we should be able to see youTube vids of this 1/1 valk when it debuts. I assume this VF-25F will be Alto's version.

Fairy Tail is kinda like Soul Eater. It has some serious fights and tension, but comedy comes out of no where when least expected. Watch the first few episodes and see if you like it. And about the Last Exile, the aerial dogfights between the Vanships and Starfish fighters remind me of Macross Zero. The way Dio in her Starfish tormented Claus was exactly like how Nora played with Shin before trying to kill him. -
Has anyone placed a pre-order for the 1:1 VF-25F yet? Sounds like a web exclusive item. Ok...seriously, just seeing a lifesize VF anything is worth the entry fee.

Finished: Spice and Wolf...Excellent show. The ironic thing is there no mecha, no action and very little to no violence. But the characters, dialogues, relationships and a fairy tale-ish setting really made this show stand out. Ragnarok...Based on a game, but I have never played it. This show is a pass due the weak story and character development. Currently watching: Fairy Tail...At Episode 61 so far. The craziness of Natsu, Gray, Lucy and Erza continue along with lots of comedy. Gundam AGE...At Episode 21. Asemu seems to be a more likeable character than Flit. Last Exile...Just started but it looks like a steampunk show.
