Mike, WIP pics would be awesome, don't be shy about unfinished stuff!!

Mike, This really wasn't stored well and has suffered damage. This is the best scan I can get of it, but it still looks way worse than it does in real life at this DPI. Sorry! Was JT going to redraw it? It'll need some photoshopping otherwise; I can do that but not until tonight. http://q-net.net.au/~nipngnwm/Monsterdecals.jpg Cheers, Martyn

No worries - I'll dig it out in and check its condition, if it's OK I should have that to you before long. You're right, I always mix up line art and Arii/Imai injection kits. It's the latter I was thinking of. Edit: bugger. Found it, was covered in sticky dust. I've cleaned it up OK I think - lost some of the decal numbering though - had to use a moist cloth, and it'll have to dry thoroughly before I can scan - hopefully be ready in the morning. If anyone has a better one please pre-empt me.

Mike, Awesome. Sounds like a dream. Resculpting the foot would have been my first suggestion - if I'd ever landed one of your V1 version that would have been my first change. It wasn't awful but I like the rounded front slope of the line art version, and the larger toe. Ditto for the "curvier" body, and the other changes also sound good, especially a more hollow set of castings. At your estimated price I'd be in for one definitely and two most likely (depends on a friend but I think he'd be keen). Cheers, Martyn Edit - I THINK I have the 1/160 decal sheet around somewhere, will get back to you. Assuming I do, what DPI you want it at?

Oh, you know. Just not really a battroid fan. Destroids, hell yeah, battroids...meh. And the same resources could go into, oh, a fighter-mode VF-11 or VF-4 or whatnot. Just my 2c...I don't actually begrudge anybody their battroids.

Thanks John, looking forward to it. Uxi, John's kits are produced in short runs only and repeats are few and far between. I've missed most of his kits mesself...kinda glad I'm not the only one! But there's always something new in the pipeline. Cheers, Martyn

I missed this. Thanks! -
Payment sent for 2 a couple of days ago. Sorry for the delay. Received OK? Cheers, Martyn

Let's hope not. Let's hope not. It's because of the hovertanks, man. They know, and they're out to get you.

1/60 isn't a kit scale, so, sorry, not gonna happen. Also, it would be so big that even I would struggle to justify it, and I'm a freak for bigger kits.
-
I'm gonna go a bit kinky for a second and just say...I LOVE THE FEET! The Monster's feet are often captured a little 'off' in 3D but from what we've seen so far this one looks like they've got them just right. Big and curvy.
-
It's not huge, but it's way bigger than the tiny one from the other Crusher Joe line. Eight and a bit inches or so? Which I agree, isn't worth $90-$150 by any means.
-
If it's any consolation, Takara made a plastic kit in the same scale. Can be had on Ebay etc. Unfortunately...it's extremely expensive. So - these latest pics, are they the resculpted version or is that still pending?
-
Does this kit differ from the original IP 1/72 kit in dimensions at all? I'm assuming not since it's a human mech that a 1/72 pilot actually can fit into, but does anyone have them both to compare? Would love a Phalanx!
-
Well, I got my biopsy results and it's not cancer...so I'm feeling in the mood to buy garage kits. I'll take two please, John.
-
I'm still keen. Will confirm tomorrow, depending on the outcome of an issue that I have going on.

Oh yeh! .... So why'd you suggest it then, huh? Huh? Eh? Huh? Eh? My old Arii decal sheet is history, long ago, so I can't compare the decals up close to the model. How's it look? I'd been assuming they'll be noticeably too small, but if not... John, no drama. Frankly, it's just so gorgeous that decals are almost the last thing on my mind, and I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that way. Lots more trimming tonight - really enjoyable. Will break out my drill tomorrow night and get it posable, assuming I'm not comatose (having a test in hospital and they're gonna sedate me). -
Naturally, I'm disappointed it isn't 1/35th. But I think I'll buy one of the piddly little things anyway.

Ah, thanks. Unfortunately (no! fortunately!!) this thing is MUCH bigger - where the old kit's cockpit is one handful, this is two handfuls. You could probably get away with it, but I think I'll try printing my own set. More than half done now anyway. -

Thanks. That doesn't look bad, but I assume it's scaled to the old Arii kit? -

Spent the weekend clearing up my shed now that it's a workable temperature out there, and got the modelling desks cleared off last night. So I started trimming up my Glaug parts. Anyone else started theirs? What are people doing for decals? I have a Corel cleanup of the old decal sheet on the go, if anyone's interested. (I know there are others out there but I wanted the Zentran script to be a little more solid/bold.) -
Yeah, for once I agree too, the DYRL version > TV. Pilot's legs cannot fit into a Regult's legs; it has a separate articulated hip section. It's a piloted "cockpit-style" mech like Glaug, not a "worn" type.

Nupetiet Vergnitz! It'd be the best big green pickle ever.

Got mine this afternoon. Wow. In linear dimensions it's only, what, 1.3 times the size of the old Arii kit? But in volume, that adds up to a lot! It's bloody stunning. I'll be in my bunk.
