Well, I've read quite a few posts, and I do agree that the prices make me wince when I see something desireable with the good ol' circle-kite on it, but you kinda have to pay attention to where in the world you are. In another thread in this section, I mentioned the prices I've see so far for some of the toys, namely Gamlin's -22 and Max's 1S which one is just under 10000 yen or a few yennies over and a few hundered Yen over 8000. The Destroid Tomahawk is more expensive than the 1S, which I found as a surprise considering the simplicity of the toy. I'm in Hong Kong where most of the great money spending habits we share are distributed around the world. I know walking through Yellow Submarine back in Japan I was shocked at the prices for the 1/60 YF-19 with FP/FB and this was when the dollar was at an all time low in my 5 years in Japan, damn near 80 yen to $1, that was harsh when I was separated from my command and lost my cost of living allowance, even now with overseas housing allowance and utilities allowance, my rent is almost 2000 dollars. For all of us Macross fans who like the slick toys but don't like the prices, we might as well stick to the Hasegawa kits that are under $30 even if they only have a fighter mode, I bought myself three kits, but I haven't built them yet. I have to wait until I move out next year to somewhere with more room since I have a family now which will also dictate what kind of spending power I will have, which won't be much! JLO was wrong, love does cost a thing, wether it's love for Macross or the people around us, the dough's gotta go somewhere!

Hey guys, well long time no post, I spent a long summer away from my family and now I'm spending the fall/winter away for a shorter period of time, and now I'm in Hong Kong and I was walking around looking for the precious merchandise that is mentioned on this thread, I am about to decide on the purchase of Gamlin's 1/60 VF-22 selling for around 90 USD if I remember correctly and I'm guessing a re-issue of the DYRL VF-1Ses, I only saw the bare-bones Max for 60 USD(I remember that price exactly) and the VE-1 for just a tad more than the VF-1. After weighing in on the decision that night as I ate at Ruth's Chris and later on today at work and knowing that i won't back here ever again as far as I know, I'm deciding to buy them tomorrow, save for the VE-1, that thing is too ugly for my liking. I'm going to scout around in other places though since there are many many places in Hong Kong for shopping, plus for the VF-22, I'm gonna have to have an "eyes on" approach since it doesn't have the window that the VF-1s and the original 1/60 YF-21 and 19 have. I would hate to think I got a good deal on a quality product and ended up getting a bunch of crap not even close to the picture inside it. Hopefully I can talk the guys down on the price too if I buy more than 2, my main goal is to find a 1/60 Hikaru with the strike pack or the complete VF-0 set and even the stock YF-19 or YF-21 or even the VF-11. Most of it is wishful thinking, but I'm guessing I'll come away with at least one, and at most three and restart my collection that ended with the chunky 1/72 YF-21FP.

Bumping so it doesn't get lost, I'm looking forward to seeing this completed as I've been providing some inputs.

Man that was pretty interesting to watch. Just some of the sound fx seem a little annoying, like the Ex-Gear's whirring and maybe some of the explosions and missile launch/rocket motor sounds.

Well I wouldn't say it's a waste of money considered how real world militaries do that kinda thing also, like Russia and its SU-37 and a lot of concepts the US made on existing air frames or totally new ones. The tech just got thrown into fighters later on, like the Active Stealth the 0 had got thrown into the VF-17 and VF-19 and 22 as well as atmospheric FAST Packs even if they looked clunky. I'm playing Gears2 now since I finally got a copy after I took a trip to the store, I think my Amazon order got lost in the mail so I'll have to talk to those guys, it's the third time this has happened. Yeah, expert challenges are meaningless save for points, head shots seem easier to pull off too. I still don't know if one shot aimed at the head is all it takes for it to register as a kill because in COD4 I would shoot a gun like the G3 at somebody's head at pointblank aimed right at his head and the 3rd shot will always register as a head shot and this is with no lag mind you. Only sniper rifles kill with a head shot with one hit. I would like that fixed.

I never got to watch that movie A Day After Tomorrow completely, I thought it was a load a bull that people in a helicopter were frozen instantly and whatnot. This movie looks kinda interesting, I didn't watch 10,000B.C. all the way, I missed the part of the king being an alien. It reminded me of Stargate since the character exposed him as not being a god just like O'Neil proved Ra was no god. Wonder when the trailer will come out.

I say you start on the VF-1 since it was the first. You could also get the old Bandai VF-1s that don't have all the detail of the Hasegawa line of kits.

Well I only owned one Yamato product and it was 1/72 YF-21. Right now with the current economic crisis I find it kinda hard to make my government salary last or have a more favorable amount of spending money left over by the next payday which I pump into my debt or savings, since I mostly live off of the Japanese economy and not the American one. When I get my place in the next few months I would like to spend some money on the 1/60 of M+ toys and even go for the M0 set and get a VF-1S Strike, but the mighty dollar isn't so mighty, also including that my cost of living I get doesn't seem to be adjusting very well to the economy. I'm still waiting for my advancement in paygrade so I can see more $$$. I miss the days of 117JPY to 1US$. On the lighter side, don't think that the companies are greedy because you're broke.

Doug Bendo is a friggin' delusional Homotech fan that believes Robotech is inifinitely suprerior to Macross and that it is alive and thriving unlike the dying Macross franchise. I first saw this bastard on Robotech.com when I used to post there and was subsequently banned for my comments toward Bendo and towards this other idiot that sees Macross designs as unfeasable, but he loves the idea of a transforming crustacean and yada yada yada that Macross designs are unoriginal and Robotech tried sooo hard to make the animation between the sagas merge seamlessly. I guess since the iPod/podcast/blog revolution Bendo has upped his forms of communicating his opinions. He's probably reading this now, hey, if your reeding, I use to be USN Hornet Pilot on RT,com. Haha, well, if anybody has anything to add to my analysis, go on ahead.

I too am hoping for a release of MGS4 on 360. Considering how a lot of other Sony exclusives have come to 360 after solely being on Sony consoles since PSOne, it would happen, it's not a snow ball's chance in hell at least. Hopefully that add on the Kojima website isn't a MGS Acid title. Hopefully it's not a sequel to 4, Kojima may have said he's finished with the title, but that doesn't mean the rest of the MGS team is finished. I wouldn't like to see an MGS5. I don't expect to see an MGS4 Substance/Whatever-they-can-think-of because of the DLC way of expanding games and stuff like that.

Aha, so that's how you get under the map. Damn cheating bastards. I've noticed some recoil and some flash, but it's usually with the SMGs or STG-44. It's not that they don't have recoil, but they have better sights all together. I can't stand most of the iron sights in COD4, especially the M-60 and G36. I don't snipe much really, I rush and kill campers who never see me coming unless they have claymores. I don't lurk in the shadows. I like the courtyard stage set in Shuri, that one feel the most like speed ball. What's you're gamertag??
