  1. You won't regret the Thud, it's frickin' great, I love almost as much as the VF-1.
  2. Well I got my JM&M 1Js for cheap thanks to HLJ, hopefully I'll get them on Wednesday or Tuesday.
  3. Too bad I already got my VF-11 just a few days prior to this sale. At least I got my M&M 1J set. I have to tally up the damage I've incurred since embarking on this great hobby of ours.
  4. M&M VF-1J FP should get here on wednesday at the latest! Haha! It's great to live in Japan! The courier boy on the scooter never disappoints and shipping costs aren't murder!!
  5. Still waiting on the 1/60 1J GPB-1S and my two strike packs that are in same order inconveniently, but it'll be nice once I receive them after waiting for so long.
  6. Well thank you all, every time I'm messing with a valk I fly it around my baby's face when she's playing, I think she's afraid of the black bird of death that Gamlin's 22 is since she turned away into her mom's chest when I approached her with it. Well after discussing it with my wife, I told her that I plan on getting M&M 1Js and 22s in the near future, she prefers my new hobby over going out without her. Haha, score! Damn, if I didn't decided on buying 2 VF-1Ses, 25S Armored Ozma and the VF-22 during my last and maybe final visit to Hong Kong, I don't think I would have started collecting and just stuck to the 1/72 models which I still have on my desk.
  7. Well, I finally got around to messing with it and wow, I wish every other next gen Valk was designed this well, the 11 is truly a "back to the basics" valk compared to everything else. I really like the Gerwalk mode on it, it goes WAY lower than even the VF-1 and feels light and has great balance in said mode, I'm about to put it into Battroid mode. Anyways, I'm really glad I bought this over the YF-19 or YF-21 and even the VF-0. Those will be for another day and the YF-19 even later due to what everybody says about it. I like the low die-cast content on it, unlike Bandai's crap they call a VF-25 which gives it a near mis-matched paint job and I hate the glossy appearance on it, damn it, why couldn't they let Yamato handle the Frontier license? Well, my only gripe about the 11 is the shape of the gunpod handle, takes a bit more positioning to get the hand to properly grasp it. FPs are great and so is the shield. This Valk is worth it so I don't say its too expensive given the quality of this over the other M+/M7 Valks. OT: For my next child, I hope I can get a nice gift as well.
  8. Yes, make culture so you can build up your Valkyrie armada.
  9. I guess I'll have to give it a try but I have no patience for any valk except for the VF-1, I especially have no patience for the VF-25 at all since its poorly engineered and super un-poseable.
  10. Well today I got my 25F movie repaint from OD and I just got one question. Do the pegs in the wings ever go into the leg armor or are those holes just for show? I thought about it after I got tired of trying to get them in there and just left it as is and threw it onto the stand and let it collect dust. If that's the case then I guess I'll throw the armor onto the 25S I got on display.
  11. So I finally found this hobby shop my fdriend told me about a few months ago and after debating on a Nora or DD SV-51 or a YF-19 or YF-21 or a VF-0S I decided on the Thunderbolt. It was nearly 200 USD after doing the conversion. I'm kinda glad now that my in-laws gave 100000 yen for my birthday/finally giving them a grand daughter. Haven't opened it up yet unfortunately since I was messing with my movie version VF-25F that arrived from OD and putting the humpty dumpty that the VF-22 is back into fighter mode and having one leg popping off and being hard to put back on. They didn't even have the VF-11 on shelves, just on display, luckily they had it in stock.
  12. Ordered my VF-25F SP from the movie from OD, HLJ and OD have near similar prices for them, I gotta tell the wife about this purchase too, she doesn't care about my hobby as long as I feed her and our daughter.
  13. I know how you feel man, right out of the box my 25S had a weak head laser and it popped off and then the transformation to battroid and to attaching all the armor was a pain in the ass. Its hard to pose with the armor on, I haven't even tried posing it without the armor since and just put it in fighter mode(without armor) and threw it on its stand and left it alone since then. I just play around with my VF-1s and on occasion my VF-22 since even that one is a bit of a pain. I just placed my order for the movie version of the Super VF-25F and I'll stop at that for Macross Frontier forever until they get the VF-171s...
  14. Man, it would be great if Yamato had an exact date for this release, I ordered mine with two strike packs from OD but I forgot to see that the 1J set was on pre-order, I wish OD said "Pre-Order Now" instead of "Buy Now" on their site, now I gotta wait for it to be released so all my stuff can ship together.
  15. Well this discussion on English subs is interesting to me because a few blu-Ray discs I've seen over here in Tsutaya feature English subs and dubs. GitS SAC had both as well as 2nd Gig and Jin-Roh also. I wanna say Char's Counterattack had the same thing too. But these were released in english speaking countries as well. I would like to see Macross completely on blu-ray with subs but that will never happen unfortunately but maybe one day out of the blue it could happen.
  16. Well after enjoying my VF-1s from Hong Kong and moderately enjoying the VF-22 and hating the VF-25 I ordered 2 strike packs and GPB 1J set from OD this past weekend. I was expecting it to come in today but not yet, last I checked they still have it as pending. Kinda weird considering how I'm "down" the street from them. Just asking, how long does OD to actually ship their stuff out?
  17. Yeah, that exchange rate sucks big time, I remember back when I first got to Japan, the highest the dollar went for was 121 yen. I accidentally forgot to mention to my wife that I purchased these things...well, she'll find out when they get here.
  18. Hmm, I've been curious about HLJ, I tried Overdrive last night and it's awesome since they're based in Japan I can have it mailed straight to my apartment. I ordered two 1/60 Strike parts and Hikaru GPB-1S VF-1J and should be arriving on monday in the AM I guess. After I saw the EMS to my address at work, I was quite shocked by what you guys living back in the States and Europe and Aus pay to have stuff shipped over. It was about $67 USD for EMS compared to the 7 USD and I could pick what time of day I prefer for the goods. I'll try HLJ for a YF-19 Eagle One since OD only has the Bird of Prey edition.
  19. I love the VF-1 series, I got the v 2 VF-1S, I'm still getting used to the YF-21/VF-22 and the VF-25 series feels awful to me once it gets snapping the chest and bringing the head out.
  20. the actual part that pivots is fine it's the barrels that come off. They go back on and will stay on as long as I don't fiddle with it too much. The thing has ok balance once it's fully loaded and seems to be arched and doesn't stand as straight as my VF-1S. The crotch plate of the armor is a minor annoyance as well when it comes to moving the legs on it. Too bad it doesn't have articulated hands.
  21. I'm putting the armor on it afterwards, it's just the head and torso that frustrates me because I'm really afraid of breaking it, but it's sturdy. the left head laser cannons popped off not long after i took it out of the box. It'll go back in but it comes off easily.
  22. Alright I just opened up my Ozma armored custom and is it just me or are the head lasers flimsy and the toy overall poorly designed? I'm finding it increasing frustrating trying to transform it straight to battroid mode. Not to mention that the manual sucks compared to Yamato manuals. The most annoying part is the head "contraption" on this damn thing. Any suggestions?
  23. I'm waiting for my VF-25S AP Ozma custom along with my VF-22S Gamlin and VF-1S DYRL? Hikaru and 1/60 DYRL? low vis 1S Focker that I got for 3216 HK$. The Hikaru was 399 while the 22 was 999 and the low vis was 620 after I talked the vendor down a bit and the 25S was 1198. I got a pretty good bargain on all of the stuff seeing what the prices were like in different websites and shops around in Hong Kong. All I need to do is find decent prices on the GPB and SS packs for the VF-1 and a stand or two. And the beautiful thing about it all is that I don't have to pay for shipping because I'm shipping via MPS back to my squadron's address at base. I'm waiting to see what my wife will say when she sees me come with all of this stuff. I just have to find room to display it in my apartment.
  24. Well after much thought I decided on buying the VF-22 it was actually 128 USD and I was lucky enough to find a shop with a bare bones VF-1S Hikaru for 50 USD rather than 60 for a Max 1S! Two 1/60 Valks for the price of 1!! Score. It was the most expensive thing I have ever done in Hong Kong in all my visits. Mission accomplished!
