Yeah, I jumped on that, didn't know they reissued the original Valkyrie artwork book so figured why not, I didn't have a toy in mind, need to train my daughter in the ways of Macross while she's young when she gets back and picture books work best!

I used Sal twice and it's safe IMO, I got my stuff just fine. I forgot I had it coming(doesn't mean it took forever) since I was pretty busy during the shipping process.

Good to know you're all good. Being all the way over here and hearing the news(inaccurate and misleading as they are) doesn't abate my anxiety when I got a wife and kid out there along with many good friends. My parents checking up on me and me just keeping myself distracted at home is the best I can do until the 31st. My head is itchy and I'm scratching it like hell, dandruff be damned thanks to this damned event.

MAKE IT NOW!(Well more like later later but definitely NOW when the time is right)

I've had luck with all my VF-1 variants and never got a bad one, save for the bad peg on the right thigh/intake of my VF-1D which was replaced by Yamato only for me to have screwed up in the reassembly thus dooming it to fighter-mode only. Hopefully they re-issue it since it is shown as being discontinued, I'd hate to have to e-Bay it.

Oh poo, yeah, you're right. 77JPY for 1USD. Yeah, I see them there a lot, but I'm still unsure. I have to wait till my family comes back because we're gonna buy a new car for wifey and then pay for insurance which will jump a bit since I got a speeding ticket back in December, not sure if the traffic school will make a difference. I got a hefty tax return coming in too, but I'll sit on that. Man, having kids pays off once a year only.

As long as my wife and baby get back to me safe and sound is all that matters to me, the 31st isn't coming fast enough. Official USN message traffic stated that CBRN alarms went off at the Fleet Activities Yokosuka and NAF Atsugi, probably Yokota too. Only required personnel are to report to work and the rest stay at home too. Might as well have my in-laws come live with me too, fart having them stay there if things really are as the reports from the news say they are.

Your are disgusting for saying what you just said about Orion. Not the beer, but you. Sapporo is so-so, but no doubt Kirin is my absolute favorite.
-
I feel the same, but not about Patalabor, but about the SDF-1, I was an ass and delayed too long when I should have acted when they were in low stock, now it's probably discontinued and it's impossible for my wife to go looking for one now thanks to the disaster. Ebay is my only hope for an SDF-1 as I've been eyeing Shin's VF-0 Ghost set for forever and a half.

Suntory Premium Malts and Kirin Strong 7 and Nodogoshi #1, I have to check BevMo, if they have either, it's over, no more Modelo or Budweiser!
-
LUCKY YOU! I miss Japanese beer too. The basic Kirin and Asahi don't do it for me.

Well shipping/postal services still work, today my wife received my order from HLJ and the boxes(MM VF-22s) are not crushed or anything. Other than that, the rest of Japan is in shambles still, she went to the Tokyu store and there is absolutely nothing there. Also, 17 helo aircrew were irradiated, they said it's not harmful, but I'm sure that's just the press release to keep people at bay.
-
Just ordered MM VF-22s, finally! I missed out on the last sale and now was a perfect time to scoop them up, maybe a few crushed Millia boxes are why its 1000JPY cheaper than Max? My wife will have some stuff to bring back with her besides two suit cases and a baby. LOL.

Chick is hot, maybe I will give this movie a shot, hopefully the 3D is not disappointing like TRON.
-
No, I mean, you go to the concession stand pay a few hundred yen and have you a Kirin or Asahi to go with your salty popcorn. You can BYOB too, just sneak it in your girl's bag.
-
Man, that's why I miss Japan, you can DRINK WHILE YOU WATCH YOUR MOVIE WITHOUT HAVING TO SNEAK IN A BREWSKIE!

I said that since it's been reported that his government refused US aid in reactor cooling systems donations, once the dust settles, we'll see just what kind of reports and press releases will be made by the government and peoples reactions of course. My wife is most displeased by that so far. Probably around the summer time everything "should" be "okay", hopefully transportation resumes before the end of the month. My wife told me they're scheduling black outs, and gasoline prices have risen and it's hard to even get it after shutting down the train system and that there's a shortage of food throughout the country right now, not to mention the death toll being near 10000 or past that at this point.

All of those bases you mention aren't just US bases either so the US Navy and Air Force will help regardless seeing as many service members who are stationed their have Japanese dependents or live off-base. If I was still stationed there I'd probably be living on base with one of my friends and his family or in the Navy lodge. 7th base ARE the FDNF out of CFAY, 5th fleet is mobilizing for sure as mentioned by somebody else with the Reagan en-route.

Watched it last night too by my lonesome self and it was good a little cliched with the basic characters, but hey, it's a military movie, they're gonna have to same approach to characters regardless of setting or director. It had a good ending in which it didn't imbue the "everything's gonna be alright" that so many other alien invasion movies have in the past. It was like part Blackhawk Down and part ID4 in which it was ground combat and the first initial engagement wasn't the last and in part that the alien transmission ships enable the smaller alien craft to fight. Except in this movie, deadly doses of explosive ordnance disabled the alien ships, not a computer virus from a Macbook.

HI-LARIOUS!

Japan has a tendency to reject US aid in times of need, I don't know why, it's not like we're the Chinese whom the Japanese really dislike. I wouldn't be surprised if their PM resigns over the handling of the disaster at the plant.
-
Ah, just an update from my wife, the Japanese government has refused the US's donation of an emergency reactor cooling device, hopefully they made a sound assessment leading to that decision...
-
You can always count on the Navy and USAF to be on the spot when a disaster strikes. I hope the airports can resume operation quickly enough so I can get my family back before my wife's B-Day at the end of the month.

Man, this is wild, I went to bed with the last thing being a tsunami warning after the quake in China earlier in the day, wake up this morning with my phone blowing up with calls from my family asking about my wife and daughter if they were OK as well as my in-laws. On a lighter note, anybody looking forwards to clearance sales on HLJ due to damaged goods?

Damn this sucks, the QF-2000 D/A is backordered now, I knew I should have jumped on it.
