I made these as part of Macross's new advertising campaign (using ads from my girlfriends fem mags) and posted them on the old boards. Here they are again for those that missed them

Here is mine, completely done in Takatoys great stickers

It HAS to be the Armored Parts, since there would be a few different types of Super Parts and not just one. (Cannon Fodder Regular, Cannon Fodder TRU, Hikaru 1A, Max 1A..etc) Unless one fits all for $37. But I doubt that... And I really wanted those super parts

I just stripped off the dark gray original details with brake fluid. I have heard on here that that stuff weakens plastic..but I just dabbed and rubbed..and rubbed..and rubbed. Fingers were a little sore....

First off..Jung..that is incredible! I really wish I could do that. And thanks for everyone's kind words on my custom. Here are some close ups of Battroid mode. All I have to do now is finish putting on stickers and wait for my fast-packs from Twin Moons to arrive. When I get those I'll post pics of the finished product

Work in progress Red Roses Custom

yeah, you cannot use the movie as a reference to the heatshield colors...it gets a little confusing Black Yellow Black Red (forgot to turn the subs off dangit...) Black (and sorry..that's not a shadow) Me..like I have said all along..black just looks better and makes the 1S stand out more

I hate any exclusive toys...all it does it give the scalpers something to scalp.

cool..those are what I needed. Thanks much

Hi On the old forum someone had a link to a webpage with a bunch of Valk color schemes and some blanks for coloring. They were of different modes, w/wo fast packs...etc. Wondering if that someone can post it again. Thanks

I like black on the 1S myself. Max was shown with black on his in DYRL all the way through and Hikaru kinda switched around between red and black. Personally I think that the black heatshield adds to the” eliteness” of the 1S and makes it more recognizable.

yeah..thanks for the info everyone. Looks like I am going to be a flip top case owner very shortly

Paint thinner doesn't work in this case. It will ruin the heatsheld. My way was....... The fastest and easiest way to remove the paint from the heatsheld is, dip it in Brake Fluid (yes, car brake fluid). But DO NOT DIP IT TOO LONG, should be no more then 15 minutes. Then use a paint brush and lightly brush off the paints while the heatsheld's in the break fluid container. After 10 minutes, start brushing lightly. Steps to follow: 1) Tape the heatsheld on the side of the white skull entirely. Try to find the kind of tape that is use for water tight or oil resistant. I've used 3m tape, but I put lots of layer. I'd put it on almost 2mm thick, make sure to rub it on good so no bubble appear. The thicker the better, so the oil won't get to the skull side. 2) Get yourself a small bottle of brake fluid and dump it into a little container (deep enough to cover the entire heatsheld). 3) Place the taped heatsheld into the container. Set your stopwatch, make sure you keep a close watch. It's best to do it outdoor. 4)After 5-10 minutes, start brushing lightly. 5) After 15 minutes or after the paint is off (which ever is first) clean the heatsheld with water and soap. If you keep it any longer, the heatsheld start to cracks and become soft. I've found out the hard way. That's what I've done with my custom 1/48 Kakizaki. Thanks alot..I'll give it a try

Just to clarify...using the Flip-Top case and Swap magic disk, you can play PSX import/backups in your PS2 and nothing else is needed. Correct?

Ya know something just dawned on me when I was moving my Valks around. After looking at the "Almost, but not totally FAST-PACK" ready VF-1A Cannon Fodder I remembered something... ...didn't Yamato apologize on their website for the mistake in NOT making it "totally" FAST-PACK ready and promise parts to rectify this? Or am I thinking of a vivid dream involving Yamato toys, websites and FAST-PACK upgrades?

As soon as I get my 1/48 Hikaru I plan on replacing my red heatshield with a black one.. But since I cannot seem to find anyone wanting to sell one, repainting it is quickly becoming the only option So anyone have any ideas how to go about stripping the paint from the underside while leaving the skull in tact and the plastic undamaged? Much obliged James

I will.. don't care for the color coordinated shields on the VF-1S myself. My 1/48 Max has a black and hopefully if I can buy one somewhere, so will my Hikaru

I was wondering if the "flip top cover and boot disk" method allows you to play import PSX games on your PS2? Thanks in advance

Hmmmm. Link me to a pic... The only Hikaru DYRL 1S toy I have ever seen was the one made by Bandai, and that had a BLACK heatshield. Don't forget the Bandai 1/72 HCM VF-1S Hikaru, that had a red heatshield! And of course, even Bandai later made a correct red clip on heatshield for the 1/55 VF-1S Strike Valkyrie. See here. Banpresto made an SD VF-1S Hikaru with red heatshield and removable Strike Armor a couple of years ago. Graham Everyone keeps saying that that Red clip on heatshield was made by Bandai... Is there any evidence to support that was made by Bandai and not someone else? Can anyone provide an image that shows Bandai's name on it anywhere? I don't see it...but it is clearly on other Bandai merchandise that I own. how odd...

How odd...I was just wondering the same thing a few days ago. I am still a big fan of the 1/60's. I do not like the fact that they are being phased out. And I do not like that the fast pack upgrades appear to be forgotten. Last I heard Yamato was "trying to improve the hip-joint." Well I think they have had more then enough time to do that, and to be honest I don't really care if the hip joint is improved. Just release the fast pack upgrades "as is" so we can have them at least. The more time Yamato lets go by, the more people will be less interested because of the "1/48 is better, everything else is crap" syndrome.

2X Black heat shield (C1) Thanks

The little switch does not do anything really. Since it is a figure of the singing Minmey doll, I guess that is suppose to be the ON/OFF switch. And the heads on mine are pretty loose too. My clear hair Mao has both eyes open. Is this one more rare then the winking one? Or were they released in equal numbers I wonder? Not that I am going to sell them or anything, just like to know what I got And I still need a regular hair Mao for anyone with extras.
