Well there is Skull 001, and 011-013, so where are the rest? Well here is my rendition of Skull 010. Since VF-1J's were available in DYRL? I thought it would be cool to have one in the squadron. I wanted to make it 002 or 004, but those numbers would not fit in the space between the black lines on the nose. Actually it turned out better then I had figured it would. Looks really neat IMO, and has sort of become my fav valk, even though is doesn't really exist in the show. I'm need to clean it up a bit more then let the paint dry for a few weeks to be on the safe side, then I'll finish stickering and put up some more pics in various modes. Oh and ummm..In the interest of customization I decapitated my Hikaru 1J ..so I could use another 1J head if anyone is parting one out. I could trade a 1A head..but I imagine no one needs one of those. But you never know.

I need a Hikaru 1J head if no one has claimed one please. Thanks UPDATE: DON'T NEED ANYMORE. A DEAL HAS BEEN MADE. THANKS

Ok, that's very, very frighting I hope kids don't read this forum. Or else there are going to be a lot of burn victims checking in over the next few days

It's the wrong color! The legs are to short! It's to expensive! Oh..wait, Yamato hasn't made one yet.

I see a lot of new people coming here starting threads and getting jumped on for it by other members. "this belongs there, not here" or "use the search function" And it's worse when their whole thread is people just saying the same sort of thing and not dealing with what the thread was all about in the first place. I understand that those that have been here a while should know, but is it really necessary to get rude with people that are not familiar with the rules? Informing is great, but please try to be a little more polite about it. If I was new here and posted a thread about something that should have gone somewhere else, or maybe already existed from months back, and people did what I see them do, I'd leave and never come back. Is this what Macrossworld wants? I really hope not.

I have panel lined all my Valks with the fine gray gundam markers. I'd never have an un-lined valk again... Unless it became illegal or something the lining really ads to the realism and gives the Valk a slightly used look. But if you are going for the "fresh off the production line" look, then don't panel line. Otherwise you really should. The only thing I have noticed about the gray fine markers, is they fray really fast. A couple of uses and the tip gets to thick and starts to work like a crayon. I end up replacing them very often. Glad they are somewhat cheap.

Thanks everyone glad you liked the pics. And the compliments are much appreciated. Rabid

I'm confused. Why are people saying the stickers are $20. Twin Moons sells them for $9.99 and Valk Exchange for $10.49. And the fast pack ones are $4.49, so even if you include those it is still less then $20 for the both. And I think shipping is relatively cheap for these. So where did the $20 come from?

The best and the worst of the Skull Squadron pilots

Well I've always been a vocal supporter of the black heatshield in the great "what should the 1S heatshield be" debate. I know Yamato or whoever came up with the shadow reasoning..hence the red heatshield with the Yamato Hikaru 1S. But it is still a personal preference to have it black. As far as the coloring of the heatshield..well some break fluid and lots and lots of rubbing away of paint. Be careful though if you do it this way, those little tabs are fragile. And here are some pics of Kakizaki in Battroid mode My camera really makes the green look bad. Oh, and I have a confession..the green head arrow isn't painted on. It's cut from green electrical tape. Which is almost a dead match oddly enough.

It seems that Roy has been sacrified to make the 1S Max and 1 A Kakizaki. 1A Max Body+ 1S Roy head => 1S Max And with the part left 1 S Body + 1A Head => 1A kakizaki Rip brave hero. Hehe...bingo! I do have another Roy though. But it is going to be a TV Hikaru 1S. I need to do something with those fast packs I got with the 1J.

Sure. I had posted these in another thread, but took the pics offline so the links are broken. The painted gunmetal gray seems to be rubbing off in areas, I was going to repaint them and seal it, but they sort of add to the "weathered" effect. This scheme is all my own design. I was planning on getting another Low Viz someday and leaving it as is. I've seen the term "limited" thrown around so much I didn't realize that this time it actually meant "LIMITED" Oh well oops...I forgot to put the intake covers back on for Battroid mode...just imagine them there

lol..yeah I know the feeling. I don't know how many times I dropped one, couldn't find it and later noticed a "no step" stuck to my shirt, or my pants.

They are thinner also, and look MUCH better on your Valk. The only problem is that have to cut them all out, and that takes a while, especially if you have lots of Valks to sticker.. But the result in the end is worth it IMO. And to get the stock Yamato ones to look somewhat acceptible, you need to cut off all that hideous flashing anyway. So, spend the time and effort on something that will look better. Oh and if you are reading this Takatoys, any chance of a 001 Max "Fast Pack" Sticker sometime in the future? I would love my Max 1S to have fast packs. I know it was never seen in that way in the movie, but it still would be cool to have. Thanks
-
And yes I do love these stickers...much MUCH better then Yamato's. Sad though that I paid $130 or so per Valk, and had to go elsewhere to get decent stickers. As far as the added money spent on all this....I try not to think of those things

Here's a couple of closeups..sorry about the large pics for those with dialup. If I shrunk them down anymore you couldn't see the detail. and the green is a testor paint pen. It was glossy though, had to dullcoat it. The color looks alot better in person...or with a different camera probably. Oh and I still haven't painted the green arrow in Kakizaki's helmet. It's pretty small.

Well I just about finished stickering all my 1/48's with Takatoys stickers. Although you really cannot tell with my crappy camera how LONG it has taken me to do all those stickers, but thought I'd share them all anyway. My custom Low Viz in the upper right still needs some stickers, and my Roy 1S is being converted into a TV style Hikaru 1S and didn't make it into the picture. Guess I need to get another one for DYRL Roy. *checks wallet* Hmmm....perhaps that one will have to wait a bit.
