Those shots are from the VFX-2 intro. I guess it's the way the backpack thrusters are placed. They look like they are used more for proplusion then any sort of hovering.

I always thought the GBP was more of a zero gravity thing. If that were the case, there would be no use for a camo version. I just can't invision some GBP crashing it's way through the jungle.

the Shadow was the only one they had or else I would have bought more. I live in Northern California. My gamestop never had any on the shelf, I had to have them transfer from another store. I looked on the website when they were offered, went to the page for the Alpha I wanted, put in my Zip and it showed me what stores in a radius had them in stock. Then I called my store and gave them the store that had it for them to call and get one.

I scored a new Shadow Alpha from Gamestop for $9.99 this weekend. I had ordered one a while back when it first came out but it took forever to transfer from another store. So the manager transferred one from a different store. (Which was cool that it took so long, because by the time it came it was down to $39.99.) Well I went in this weekend to buy Resident Evil 4, and the manager told me that the other one finally showed up. She still had it sitting under the counter. It rang up as $19.99 and I had a $10.00 off coupon So I just had to buy it....

I was playing around and took a few shots of some of my 1/48's *dial up warning* the pics are kind of big gah, I just noticed that 2 of the covers for the missles on the Hikaru 1S are on wrong...oh well.

I know this whole thing is probably so simple, but the method is totally escaping me.

Forgive my ignorance, but some of the pics people post are in thumbnails that you click on and a full pic opens up. That works great if you want to post a group of pics. I'm not sure how that's done. Can anyone enlighten me please? Thanks

I have both the first and second series including the chase Minmay doll. I didn't get the cockpit because I only want the characters. Currently I have no set #3 figures, mostly because the first run sold out to fast. But my chances of getting Max seem VERY slim if at all. My opinion, they should have done the cockpit as the chase again. Selling a main char as a chase is completely ridiculous. Especially one as popular as Max. I'm a completest. If I end up missing part of something I want to collect. It totally turns me off the collection alltogether. Which is probably what's going to happen here.

Does anyone know if Yamato replies to emails (especially in English)? I'd love to ask them if they have any plans on releasing the hands that this thing comes with separately. I know it's highly unlikely though. It seems to easy to throw a few sets in a plastic baggy for a peg hanging item.

it seems the "limited" rumor seems to come and go. I wish someone would pin it down, because: 1. If there is another, different, limited version coming out I'll buy that as my second one 2. If the one that's out is limited I'll buy another of the same right away or what I'd prefer to do is: 3. if it's not limited at all I'll buy another of the same, but later.

Here's my logic on the issue. The valks of this squadron have 2 stripes on the chest, one consistant black and the other another color. We see clearly that the majority of the time (majority because of the brief "yellow" incident) that Roy's heatshield is black, which matches the black stripe. Hikaru and Max are red and blue, which matches the second stripe. And I can't say based on the movie that Kakizaki's is green, because the shield is never shown. However it stands to reason that it would follow the same color patten of Hikaru and Max and be green just like the stripe. The next VF-1S shown is Max. And, again, based on what is seen it is 100% of the time black. So far, 2 VF-1S's both shown with black shields majority of the time. The third is Hikaru. Now, his changes so it's impossible to logically say what his shield color should actually be. BUT since we have 2 instances where the VF-1S shield is clearly black majority of the time (Roy's and Max's). In my little organized world I feel I can safely say that Hikaru should be black as well. Maybe that's not right. But looking at all the evidence it works for me.

Well since I pointed out that max had a black heatshield, I guess I should chime in here. Yes Roy's is shown as yellow, and yes Hikaru's changes colors. But not in one scene is Max's shield any other color other then black. And yes there are animation errors all over the place in DYRL. But if you can't use the show that the valks appeared in even somewhat as canon, what the hell can you use? Novels? Even though Max was shown in the movie with blue colors I think they were pink. Nevermind that it was never pink, and it was always shown as blue, but that might have been an error, therefore I think it's suppose to be pink. Sort of the same thing eh? And you can't go off of what other companies do. Bandai released the strike valk with a black heatshield. (and yes I know there is the mystery "sold separately" red shield that was suppose to take it's place, but I have looked closely at the package pics and see no bandai logo anywhere on it) There is an animation at the beginning of Macross Anniversary disk that shows Hikaru's as black. When Hasegawa showed off their Battroid model kits at a show (it was a while ago when they were first released) they had painted Roy's as yellow So just because some company puts it out, shows it, etc. That still doesn't mean it's right since everyone is all over the place as to what the true heatshield colors are.
