Wow - learned a lot from one comment - never to old to learn.I hope we see this 1/20 VF-1 soon . Lucky all my 3D models are in CAD format so any scale is possible
-
Thank you for the feedback , in my part of world( South Africa) not a lot of "Aircraft" models in 1/20 all British and American scales
-
Why do a 1/20 scale when the standards are 1/24 , 1/32 .. just thinking .
-
Had a lighting strike that took out my server and electrical equipment late December 2015 - after the restore , I found an old file where I started a VF-0 so I have restarted this week with front body and Gunpod
-
Not an AutoDesk product go to http://www.freecadweb.org/ to see more - I have done some 3d prints from Freecad models, not bad , I prefer Rhino3D for NURBS modeling .
-
I like CAD tools , model to dimensions and spec - Have a look at Rhino 3d , Solid Edge , Solid Works and FreeCAD( The Blender of CAD tools, free and open source )

Logan_4600 - have a read maybe this will make sense https://seraphinacorazza.wordpress.com/2012/12/28/modeling-techniques-differences-between-nurbs-and-polygon-modelling-new-york-city-rooftop-3d-architecture-project-research/ Anyway an update
-
Logan_4600 - Not sure my methods would help , I use Rhino which is a pure nurbs modeller , each surface is constructed using curves and filleted and trimmed for detail each panel was detailed on it's own . I believe you use blender -totally different approach with polygons , you shape and sculpt . What helped a lot was , I got lot of info from guys building kits , they take good pictures and that model is nearly 10 years old .... today I would have done it differently . I have been tempted to update .. but first finish my VF-19, if I ever finish all my "side" projects

I decided after many years to do a Star Wars model , it is tedious work when you do NURBS model every item needs to be constructed ,and surfaces created .... painful . I took a break and scanned thru all my VF-1 models and saw a very badly done VF-1S head , so this side project was born. I will also post the TIE Interceptor that I am busy with ...
