    Oliver Reed as Bill Sikes in the 1968 version of Oliver. The scene where he is brief but extremely brutal (the way that she can still be heard crying out as he clubs her to death) and seems really out of place in what had previously been a light-hearted musical. Its a nasty scene, but very effective. Best SF Badguy I would give to Maximillian in The Black Hole. A totally ruthless character. Taksraven

    Its just a pity that that sort of crap has to go on, esp. in literature. New Hitch-Hikers novel not written by Douglas Adams, forget it. Those bastardised Dune novels written after Herberts death, forget it. But then again, some writers/creators revisit material that should be left alone. Joseph Heller wrote a pointless sequel to Catch-22. And then there is Blues Brothers 2000. AAAARRGGHHH!!!! Taksraven

    Most shows/movies, etc benefit from having a single creative visionary behind them, whether it be a writer or director. This is why both the Alien and Predator franchises have such problems as far as I am concerned, since there is no single person running the show. There can be successful exceptions to the rule, Doctor Who being one of them. Taksraven

    I think its that all of the bands you have mentioned have dabbled or dabble in space rock, a great (but underrated) musical genre. Taksraven

    I dunno. I think that everything after the end of Comet Empire was an attempt to recapture past glories rather than tell a new, interesting story. I'll still watch the new one, of course, and I'll probably enjoy it. Taksraven

    Here in Australia we had thousands of men who were in POW camps during WW2 and they didn't snap and turn into Rambo's. Thats not to say that it cant happen, but I still think that Rambo came across as a whinger. At least he didn't end up in a veterans hospital. (They are supposed to be truly hellish places) Taksraven
