The Terminator, yes, the Abyss, no. I dunno what it was about the Abyss, I think I just hated a lot of the characters. Cameron rarely gets beyond cliched characters. Taksraven

The best name for that sort of person is spin doctor, I guess. Taksraven

Its all a matter of comparison and perspective, Avatar looks like frigging Shakespeare compared to "White Chicks", which was on here last night. Taksraven

The chick in the Crying Game is actually a dude, the Planet of the Apes is really Earth, you never find out whats in the case in both Pulp Fiction and Ronin, the dog also dies in Turner and Hooch, Soylent Green is people, Berg Katse is both male and female, its a cookbook and the Star Wars prequel trilogy *really* sucks. It would be great as a combat mecha because in robot mode it resembles a target! Taksraven

Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title
taksraven replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It owould be fair to say that the Terminator franchise has one of the most screwed up timelines in all of SF. (But I am sure that there are worse examples) Taksraven -
All they are doing is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Taksraven

The Thing Prequel written by Ronald D. Moore

The Thing is fiction, not an historical event. Taksraven -
I know that these forums have been around for a long time so I think most people here should have seen this pic featuring some Macross characters as well as characters from other shows should have been seen here before, if not, I hope you enjoy it. The story I heard was that it was created for a US anime convention, if I am wrong or if somebody has a better story, let us know..... Taksraven

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato
taksraven replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Star Blazers is fine, especially if you remember that rather than yelling "We're going to crash into them!", he was actually yelling "Long Live Leader Desslock!!" (Desslar, whatever) And the guy who does Desslock in Starblazers is so deadpan he makes me laugh every time, some FANTASTIC voice acting. (Love Avatars voice too.) Definitely don't bother with the first Yamato movie, but watch Arreverderci AFTER you have watched Yamato 2. Its still a lot of fun and some really gruesome stuff was cut out for TV. After Yamato 2 it gets very weird and I thought anticlimactic. Taksraven- 450 replies

Needs a few more things like a picture of Carl Macek, a HG logo and a few latin words to make it cool, maybe "Caveat Emptor"? Taksraven

Frame 5 is kinda wrong. Any Academy awards won by this film will not be won by the director personally (Best Picture, Best Director, etc), but rather they will be won by the SFX teams. SF rarely, if ever, wins any other type of award. Not a legitimate artform according to the upper classes, I suspect. Taksraven

Not an RT question, but if Shoji Kawamori did create the Optimus Prime design as a diaclone toy, would he get any money or royalties for the use of the design subsequently in Transformers, or are those rights long gone?? Taksraven
