    Sorry for the pain. :lol: The Quiet Earth is an obscure little New Zealand post-apocalyptic film made in the 1980's. Its not Shakespeare and most of what is in it has been seen before, but those who have seen it will know how enjoyable it is. Taksraven

    I could think of a few choice names to rename all of the silly films in this franchise, but its crap anyway. I think keeping the original name is more about not confusing the audience as to what they are seeing. (Audiences are stupid, a studio exec told me that once) Taksraven

    Thats exactly right. And thats how you can explain why Macross is superior to Robotech with just one reason. Who needs eight when this simple fact alone is enough to torpedo all pro-Robotech arguments. Taksraven

    I don't think its going to be an issue with the LAM (IF it ever gets made), because it will end up looking like the original Robotech as much as the Michael Bay Transformers resembles the Transformers G1 series (in other words, no resemblance at all) Basically there is no way that they would do transforming fighters based on old F-14's. If anything, I have always suspected that this project would have to be more scared of legal action for plagiarism from the Transformers franchise. Taksraven

    Yep, I have an old VHS copy of it around here somewhere. It certainly is a superior version, but there is still some character stuff that makes me grind my teeth. (I am fairly sympathetic to Biehn's character when he is listening to the others crapping on about the alien and he is cutting himself in frustration.) Taksraven
