  1. I just think that men who are classifed as pansies do have a place in culture. Maybe not suited to playing Conan, but certainly in some areas. I would use a broader term such as anti-macho, that way you can include people who are not neccessarily not straight. Classic anti-macho - Noel Coward (even the name is anti-macho, brilliant!) Kenneth Williams (so much more than just the gay guy in the Carry On films) Rodney Dangerfield (in a world where vanity is becoming an increasing menace, a man who said such lines as "I was such an ugly kid - When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up” and “When I was born I was so ugly the doctor slapped my mother.” is sorely missed.... And there are plenty of others.... Taksraven
  2. That part where he is in the bathroom telling himself what he is going to do with Mia waiting outside is one of Travolta's best performances. Great stuff. Taksraven
  3. Look, for the sake of perfect accuracy, can you please calculate that down to weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Taksraven
  4. Is that the one where Paul and his mother were supposed to have an "intimate relationship". I'm not joking, I have heard of such a planned version. Taksraven
  5. And what is wrong with pansies?? Taksraven
  6. Can anything climb into it?? Taksraven
  7. Wow, Yeah, Mr March. Whatever happened to him? He is a legend!! Taksraven
  8. This is the other problem a lot of Super-hero films run into. Don't forget, its just as important to have an iconic villain as well as a hero. As a result of this, most super-hero films use up all of their iconic villains in the first two or three films, leaving enemies behind that are mainly familiar to fan-boys with the general public has never having heard of them before. I know that the fan-boys are an important part of the audience, but people who don't read comics on a regular basis are a truly critical part of the audience. The second of Burton's Batman films was a shocking waste, squandering two well-known villians in one film. Taksraven
  9. Don't worry, I am fully aware of the Gatchaspartan. Its pretty ugly too but nothing like the New GodPhoenix.... Taksraven
  10. I thought the characters name was Emile Lang and if it is they got the eyes wrong anyway. Lang was supposed to have those weird white on black eyes.... Taksraven
  11. You mean "White fish" Taksraven
  12. Yeah. Who the hell is that supposed to be??
  13. Nah, thats a fantastic picture of him. I'm sure that if he opened his mouth more that a second set of jaws would come flying out to smash his victims skull in..... Taksraven
  14. I thought it made their eyes glow blue??
  15. Yer gonna start singing "I'm too Sexy" next. Time to audition for Right Said Fred....... Taksraven
  16. Exactly right. She went through that film like she was sleepwalking. Sure, she is much prettier than Margot Kidder, but at least Kidder could act and was entertaining. That's the problem with a lot of younger actors coming through these days, they look nice but they have no bloody charisma!! And charisma counts for a lot more than Hollywood execs realise... 17. At least then the film would be funny! Taksraven
  18. Personally, I prefer the lame fuucking ways to get around it. Taksraven
  19. Thats the sort of thing that I always suspected, but it was never made blatantly clear, only hinted at. But think about it. Corporations controlling the military to achieve their own ends?? As if! Taksraven
  20. Come on, we are all waiting for the scene where the little fishy swims down the periscope and bites the sub captain in the eye.... Taksraven
  21. That sort of mind-numbing ignorance is staggering and unbelievable. To claim not to know of the Macross sequels in the internet age is absolute crap. Pre-internet maybe, but even then, as soon as I saw the cover of Macross Plus at the video store for the first time I knew exactly what it was. Taksraven
  22. Exactly, I could not give a stuff that Burton's version was closer to Monkey Planet, or that the special effects and prosthetics were so good, at the end of the day the movie was a waste of goddam money. I know that it did make a profit, but just try to think what sort of new and more creative projects could have been filmed with the same funds. Taksraven
  23. Thanks for posting the pics, but THIS IS GOING TO BE A SUCKY MOVIE!!! AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Taksraven
  24. Everybody crawls up Tim Burtons arse worshipping him all the time but he is certainly capable of killing franchises. Taksraven
