  1. If you mean "no film has been ripped off more in the history of SF", maybe. As for influence, etc, I think that 2001 had a massive influence, some of which can be seen in Star Wars: A New Hope. Taksraven
  2. I've a friend who's a Cancer. (I'm a Taurus, ladies) Taksraven
  3. We are never wanted. Just because we live in the Southern Hemisphere but it seems that the Army of the Southern Cross does not come from here! *sob* Taksraven
  4. Well that would make it a faithful adaptation of the original series, and I wouldn't complain about sitting through the 9th (great symphony) Taksraven
  5. Like so??
  6. AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!! PAGE 25!!!!!!! AZRAELS GATES OF HELL ARE ABOUT TO OPEN!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Taksraven
  7. WTF?? Without watching the show and reading just this thread the whole series sounds like a big retcon mess? Taksraven
  8. Live action filmmakers can base their stuff on . 0.08-0.10 is really funny. Taksraven
  9. Is this in the wrong place? I think so. I just won't say IBTL 'cause some get annoyed about it. Maybe IBTM? Or IBIIMTTNT?? Taksraven
  10. Thanks for that. I can see the discussions not the vids though. Incredibly stupid people it would seem. Or trolls more likely. Taksraven
  11. Can we have a little linky to the "tremendous stupidity" goodness you are talking about.... Taksraven
  12. Its called whiteanting and its not surprising. They dob each other in at the drop of a hat hoping to gain favor with the RT and HG highups who could not care less about them.... Taksraven
  13. Jesus Christ, Gubaba, I didn't read the name of the director of this project, (Roland Emmerich). You now truly have my sympathies. Taksraven
  14. DA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! Taksraven
  15. Yeah, I know that, but they probably still face the possibililty of HG lawyers coming after them to stop them working on it. Would any of us here be surprised if that happened? Really??
  16. Kinda weird. I have a little bit of sympathy for them, having put in so much work into a project that they clearly enjoyed. But, on the other hand, they were foolish to tie themselves to HG and RT since HG has such a terrible track record... Taksraven
  17. My favourite Dark City story is the one that I think Proyas told when it was released. The story goes that he wanted Dennis Potter to work with him on the script. Potter sent a letter of refusal due to illness (he was dying), but the letter was a nice one where he essentially said that the script was brilliant but Proyas was mad and would never get it filmed. This is why the film is dedicated to Potter.
  18. I'm dead. I just haven't stopped moving yet.
  19. Listened to an interview with Spike Spencer once ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  20. Type in Carl Macek on Facebook and you get a group page for him as well as a personal page. Taksraven
  21. Don't forget that they wear tinfoil "thinking caps". Edit: I know that when a lot of celebs are interviewed that their minders hand the interviewer a list of "no-go" topics that they are not to be questioned about, and if the interviewer breaches this as a condition, the interview is over. I don't know if the likes of Macek or Yune would be soooooo arrogant as to have such lists of no-go questions. (They probably are that arrogant) Taksraven
  22. HEY!! THERE'S AN IDEA!!. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR ONE OF US TO INTERVIEW CARL MACEK??? I mean, it would be great to pin him down when he makes some derogatory comment about the original Macross and then when he does, press him on the question REALLY hard again and again until he caves in and admits what a loser he is (unlikely) or until he hangs up the phone or walks out on the interview. (much more likely) You would have to start the interview nice of course, and BS him with a few "typical" questions, but eventually you would ask the question that would trap him. It gets back to what I was talking about that before, that nobody ever seems to call him on his bullshit and he seems to get away with it all the time. Is there any interviews on record with Macek where he has done it tough against hard probing questions? I would love to know if there is one. Has anybody ever jumped up at an RT panel at a con and given Yune and his wankers a hard time about Macross. I'm sure that if one of us was quick enough and eloquent enough we could get these wankers on the back foot easily enough. It would rattle the cage of the RT nutjobs too, possibly. Does anybody have "connections" that might allow one of us to get a Macek interview. Or Yune or one of the other wankers. Taksraven
  23. I think if you are going to put up a list like that of what you don't like, maybe you should tell us what you do like? Taksraven
  24. Back to the Future does tick a lot of the boxes, thats for sure, and it has a timeless quality to it. Its non-offensive and it achieves this without being sickly sweet. A rare achievement. Taksraven
  25. I especially like the Directors cut. See it if you haven't. It corrects some of the mistakes in the film. The mistakes weren't by the director though, it was the studio mucking things about, thinking it knew better. Taksraven
