    What I like about Nolan is that even though he isn't Kubrick, he probably is the nearest thing that we have to Kubrick in this day and age. Pretty much all of his films are challenging and thought-provoking despite the flaws that they may have. The Prestige is a great example. By no means a perfect film, lots of flaws but still fascinating to watch. Inception was great, well thought out and executed. I like it how the dream sequences were pretty much reality, except for limbo. Great stuff. Taksraven

    You won't ask this but I will think it aloud. Was Macek's widow on the HG payroll before his death of has she been signed up since? Or is she doing all of this promotion of her late husband for free. Not a nice question, but if she is not getting paid then HG are a bunch of bigger arseholes than most of us previously thought. (Clarification - I am not saying that she is wrong for making money off her husbands death if she is being paid, that is just free enterprise.) Taksraven

    I can't understand why they tried to work it so that we had sympathy for that fucking stupid murderous mutant. Probably the lowest point of the entire film series. I personally thing that this scene from "Fire in the Sky" (an otherwise crap film) is one of the best examples of a filmed "nightmare". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzSxzYNfkGA&NR=1 You will especially understand if you have ever suffered from Sleep Paralysis.     Two candidates from me today. The first is Robert Duval's Frank Burns from the original MASH film. An absolute c*nt, makes the TV series Burns look like Ghandi. Second, I normally would not consider "historical" figures, particularly ones that are incorrectly portrayed, but Patrick McGoohan as Longshanks from Braveheart was a terrifyingly evil character.

    My problem is more with the cease and desist factory Harmony Gold than Robotech. If I could walk into a DVD store and see both Robotech AND Macross on the shelves I wouldn't be worried about this crap. Maverick, Memo and Bendo are just blowhards who need to be deprived of oxygen. Taksraven

    I've seen and read interviews, but I can't remember hearing any reason why the production team thought it was a good idea to kill of these characters from the previous film. Anybody ever heard a justification for it??
