  1. Yeah, that was my first thought. Action series category? Knight Rider was more SF. I always thought the X-Files was crap (still nowhere near as bad as the shows I mentioned at the start of this thread though. ) I couldn't stand the Conspiracy Theory/brand of Pseudoscience that it peddled. (Yes, I know that Pseudoscience is the basis of most SF)
  2. Both feet on the walkers left side do move in a funny way before it topples, but nothing too extreme. This is the greatest Star Wars blooper of all time. (and it was in the film...)
  3. I understand your argument and it is completely valid. To me, its like with films when most people say the worst film ever was "Plan 9 from Outer Space", but my logic is that it was a cheap shite film with low production values anyway, so who cares, its too easy to consider it worst ever. My alternative suggestion for worst film ever (and yes, I know that there is a thread for this, I am just explaining a belief) would be Waterworld, for much the same reasons stated by Agent One for "Beauty and the Beast". They were dead serious with Waterworld, it cost a shiteload of money and it was a huge flop (yes I know it made its money back, blah blah.) Thats why I started this thread with Galactica 1980, Earth 2 and Seaquest DSV, as I saw all three of these shows as cynical efforts by the studios to throw SF fans a bunch of crap and hope that SF fans would lap up any old bunch of crap. Although you could also argue that it is wrong to produce childrens programming like it is crap too. Why should kids have to put up with such garbage. Thats why I loved Battle of the Planets as a child, as I could tell that it was a much more "serious" show (except for the added stuff like 7-Zark-7) and a cut above most American animated programs at the time that were aimed at "kids". Same goes for Star Blazers too. Taksraven
  4. You certainly nailed the best part of the show, but I thought it was alright. Pretty ruthless alien they were up against. Leaving around the skins of those it killed. Nasty stuff. Did it go to series or just a "pilot"? Taksraven
  5. With the uniforms the "little people" are wearing it looks like a deleted scene from Time Bandits.
  6. Quote of the week.
  7. Edgar Wright did a great job of making Alison Pill look *really* fugly.
  8. Highwayman. Sam Jones (Flash Gordon) was the hero. And if you think that was bad, check out Jacko's "song". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3h6pyZi88w
  9. A more in-depth story about whats going on. http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/movies/toy-sales-stopped-return-of-the-jedis-dark-ending/story-e6frfmvr-1225905588627
  10. Beauty and the Beast, but "That one with Linda Hamilton and that lion-man creature that she was in love with." would have been a much better title. LOL.
  11. I think that Voyager at least had a "concept", (even if that concept was a remake of Gilligans Island, you just knew they were never going to get off the island.....sorry, get back to Earth.)
  12. Oh come on and chillax A7. I prefer to see it as "laziness" rather than a "habit" of quoting pics. And the Charmander pic was cool anyway. Taksraven
  13. Conspiracy theory time (tinfoil hats at the ready, everybody) I think they just don't want to put the originals out in any sort of good quality out of fear of really good fan edits ending up doing the rounds. George Lucas is Mr Super Control Freak. Taksraven
  14. He's full of shite anyway. When the "originals" (not enhanced) of the first trilogy were released on DVD a few years ago, weren't they full-screen and not widescreen, with Lucas or Mcallum or some other crony saying that they had "lost the widescreen originals" Taksraven
  15. I don't think that this thread already exists, so here we go. (if it does exist, let me know) One simple rule. ROBOTECH is off limits. Just trying to save Azrael some time. You can slag off at a whole franchise, one branch of it or even just one season. So lets slaughter the sacred cows. A few dishonourable mentions first. GALACTICA 1980 - Words can't describe how bad this was. At least we knew that they weren't wasting any money on it. (Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep) For a good read about how shabby the effort was, check out this wiki. EARTH 2 - One of the worst examples of poor SF from the 90's. The only saving grace was that there were at least a few good ideas in the show. To bad that nobody knew how to bring them to the small screen properly. STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE - Ok, ok, babes must be in catsuits, we get it.... AND THE ABSOLUTE WORST - SEAQUEST DSV A really, really poor effort at an SF series. Seems that the cast hated it about as much as the audiences. I think it was that tacked-on environmentalism crap that really hurt the show, and by the time they tried to drop it it was too late. And they made three seasons of the garbage. OMFG. Taksraven
  16. I will admit that the lightsaber scene is pretty cool (I think it was in the original novelisation) BUT, I think that they did the right thing not including it. The way that the lightsabre was revealed in the final cut was much better and much more dramatic. Taksraven
  17. Cool, excellent work. Thanks for keeping us updated..... Taksraven
  18. Valid point. They could do soooooooooooooo much more with an extra 8 minutes in that film.....
  19. YES, thats the one....
  20. I thought that the problem was that Anime Fiend (see what I did there) outsourced the work to another studio and the animation came back looking really crap. Its a pity too, since that is one of the weakest aspects of Macross. Taksraven
  21. I'll stick with Beast Wars thank you...... Taksraven
  22. HANG ON. What is a Care-Bearan??? Taksraven
  23. They give everything tits. They would give protoculture tits if they could...... :D
  24. They missed an opportunity there. When they were coming out with "The same date, the same course, the same fate" crap, they also should have had..... THE SAME ICEBERG!!!! Would have rocked then.....
