    So, we are experiencing the gradual shift from unwanted remakes of 30 year old TV shows to unwanted sequels to 20-30 year old films. Great. Taksraven

    Funny, I laughed and laughed and laughed. What they should do is a special edition of Robotech with hardcoded subtitles that pop up every time the series "tells a lie" (a good example would be every time the word Protoculture is incorrectly used, a subtitle could pop up and explain what exactly the protoculture is in the original Macross) to set the facts straight about how the original series is being messed around with. The logical extension would be every time an incorrect name for a character is spoken, a subtitle pops up with the "correct name" Amending the closing titles?? Nobody cares about them anymore.......     Maybe, given the amount of stuff going on in the filmworlds of both DC and Marvel, they should have their own film threads or a combined comic film news thread? News like this today is very interesting, but it might be a good idea to have it all in the one place. Just an idea. Taksraven

    I loved Macross Zero, especially watching it at the time that it came out. Just a reminder for some people that internationally 2001-2002 was a very dark time, with a lot of bad stuff going on (no, I am not opening up a discussion about the politics of the era, or mentioning specific events, I am just trying to put things into context) and I think that the dark and often horrific tone of Macross Zero reflected that perfectly. Its easy to forget that a lot of shows are "products of their time" and sometimes you will have to consider what was going on in the "real world" to understand the true context of things such as TV shows, films, books, and even music. As for the "magic" of Macross Zero, I agree with Azrael in that it was about showing the power of the Protoculture with their technology that seems fantastic by our standards.... Taksraven

    Oh, you are certainly right about that, and there is the scene where Cobb explains to Ariadne exactly how the spinning top works as a totem, which would be going against the rules of using it if it is his totem, but then again, as Arthur pointed out, Cobb spends a lot of his time going against the rules he sets out. But it could also be the fact that its not Cobbs totem. Does anybody else suspect that Ariadne managed to perform inception on Cobb during the film? The way she seems so confident at the end of the film that Cobb will be OK makes me suspect that I am still missing something. God I love this film, so much to talk about. Taksraven

    Well, I predicted that it would be out by Xmas. Its still doing good business in the cinema's. It has passed the $800 million dollar mark internationally and is the 26th highest grossing film at the box-office. Its still running here in Sydney (Sydney is kinda in the film, yay) and by the time it finishes will have been running for nearly three months. What I would like to know though is how much business this film has done through people seeing it multiple times. I suspect that it could hold some sort of record in that area as I think that a lot of people who have liked it have seen it at least twice. (and I have seen it *many* more times than that) Taksraven Maybe, but bloody hell, its certainly implied.

    Yeah, its really funny to be debating this so long after. Personally, I believe that most of the problems he was experiencing in M+ can be attributed to his rage problems/drugs that he was on to control them. It was an underdeveloped part of the story, but all of Macross Plus was rushed. Taksraven

    Yeah, I can see in some cases how it might be useful, but overall it is one of the more annoying aspects of the "new" forum.
