Star Wars Saga gets 3D Love in 2012

Probably another variation on the Special Edition. Ol' George can't help himself. But the big question really is: Original Version - Han fires first. First Special Edition: Han fires second Second Special Edition: They both fire at the same time Blu-Ray Edition: I dunno, they kiss and make up?? -
Or how about the option "In my country we never got G.I. OTT Patriot as a cartoon or a toy, so who gives a damn?"

Evangelion 2.0 in the cinema is a brilliant experience, let me tell you. I'm just so happy that so many of us are getting the chance to enjoy it in this way. -
Star Wars Saga gets 3D Love in 2012

Yeah, I always thought that it was Vader keeping Fett on a leash. Vader also knew that Luke would be getting visions of what was going and maybe if he saw his friends being *killed* in the future it would have been trickier to lead Luke into the trap. And maybe Vader had plans to enjoy killing the likes of Chewie in the future himself. If there was a bounty on Han you would have thought there would have been one on Chewbacca, especially since Jabba seems so happy to receive him in ROTJ. -
Any other "Thing" fans out there?

Oh don't worry, the book is *very* readable. A few differences with the film if you can cope, but its quite good. -

Future of the Left - Last night at the Annandale Hotel. A brilliant show.

Voyager did a massive amount to demystify and therefore weaken the Borg as a credible threat in the franchise. They were in about 50 Voyager episodes and looked worse in each appearance. The biggest insult was 7 of 9's family secretly studying the Borg for such a long period of time. How stupid was that? And to go back to On-topic, if RT had been inconstant production for the last 20 years, they would have run out of ideas after the first season. I think if they had completed the original Sentinels it would have killed them and destroyed the fanbase completely.

Heh, due to a lack of communication between myself and my wife, I now have TWO copies of this set, one local and one from the UK. AND THEY BOTH HAVE DIFFERENT BLU-RAY SETS AND EXTRA'S IN THEM FFS!!! The Australian one came with a 4 disk set and a pack of postcards, the UK one came with a 3 disk set and an instruction booklet for passiv system. Crazy. But I'm going to keep both of them. Try track 9, Dream within a Dream, it really rocks. Over on the forums at nolanfans.com we are trying to get a petition going to have a complete soundtrack of this film released, and there are even rumours of a Special Edition of the Blu-Ray/DVD on the horizon.

Technology you F'ng hate thread

Meh, I've seen too many "healthy/strong" people in my personal life die of heart attacks to know that when your number is up, your number is well and truly up. Joe Dancer can be pretty indiscriminate as well. I'm not advocating an unhealthy lifestyle, and by all means we should probably do more to extend our lives through better health, but we all must understand that the saying "Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die" exists for a reason and there is NO way to guarantee a long life. -
R.I.P. Pete Postlethwaite. A great actor, he will be missed.

Here is a fundamental question. Are these SF shows trying to run for too long? Should writers with a good idea limit themselves to maybe two or three seasons, have a decent story arc running during that time, and then wrap up the show when it reaches it's climax?? I think Stargate:Universe should have run along the lines. a) Season 1 - Establish premise and characters b) Season 2 - Now that these things are established it is time to engage a broader sort of show, what the ships mission is etc, what needs to be done, all running up to a big cliffhanger at the end of the Season. c) Season 3 - Climatic season. Writers can do whatever they want for the adventure, but they should work to the goal of having a climax and wrapping it all up by the end of the season AND AT THAT POINT THE PROGRAM *WILL* END. NO CRAPPY EXTENSIONS INTO FURTHER SEASONS!! I think lots of SF programs would benefit from having such a schedule. That way you avoid the show meandering on, jumping the shark and passing its use by date. The modern Star Trek series were classic examples? Seven seasons each?? No way. If they had finished at a maximum of 4 or 5 each I think that their reputations now would be much more solid and the shows would have been appreciated at the time. I dunno. I just think long seasons and long-running shows are a BAD idea.

Probably. A lot of actors start screaming for their characters to be killed once they become "too" popular. Neither could you, it would seem.... :P -

You must have loved the episode of Star Trek:Enterprise, when the crew was the "first" one to encounter the Borg. What a screw up that idea was..... Taksraven Welcome to modern cinema, BTW. -

If people knew how much EM radiation was gunning through them all the frigging time, they would poo themselves. Admittedly, a lot of it is low level, but all the same, given time..... (I sleep with an active powerpoint situated behind the bedhead and I don't even trust that.) -

Nah, we don't need "narrow" and "broad" definitions of this hateful word. The first sentence of the wikipedia article on the subject successfully sums it up.....
