THAT is funny, I never knew that they did that! I double checked on Wikipedia and sure enough..... "Megatron/Galvatron transformed into a tank and was partnered with the Mini-Con, Leader-1 (when upgraded to Galvatron, the American toy renamed the repainted Leader-1 Clench, treating him as a new character)." Really, really funny, thanks for that.... Taksraven

You want confirmation? Its not that difficult to find: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoBots:_Battl..._the_Rock_Lords And get ready for the kinda b-grade BIG names doing the voices - "These new characters featured the guest voices of Margot Kidder, Telly Savalas and Roddy McDowall." Hope that helps you out. Taksraven

When I was young and stupid we got free tickets to see "GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords" at a local cinema in Australia. I was ready to run out of the theatre, screaming "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!" Taksraven

You became a Macross fan because of ...
taksraven replied to Macross007's topic in Movies and TV Series
Of course the "Lets rubbish Robotech" line is popular in these forums. And there is a lot of validity in criticising a program that was a bastardised version of three different anime. (four if you count megazone) BUT, (and I know that this has been argued before), without Robotech there simply would not be the Macross fanbase that there is now in the West, and that would have been really unfortunate. And for the simple fact that my life is certainly better and more enriched as a result of my being a Macross fan, I will always appreciate the fact that Robotech was created. (I am not trying to unleash the fury of the Anti-Robotech crowd and I am not trying to say that I am a flag waving Robotech fan now, I am just stating my viewpoint). It would be nice if the Regult was properly to scale, ie, a lot larger than the valkyrie. Taksraven

Here it comes...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_the_E...%282008_film%29 I can imagine it now. The climactic speech at the end from Klaatu.... "Either work with us or continue on your present path and be destroyed, dudes" Its going to be great. I am sure. Taksraven

Put simply, Dune has already been done. Twice. Both efforts failed to impress most people. What are they going to try to do differently that will make this version "work". Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy most of Lynch's work in his effort, but is it really too much to ask for the producers to spend their money instead on a more original project? There are thousands of popular works of fiction out there that could be adapted instead or maybe some writers could be hired and a completely original work created. Remakes are really getting tedious, look at this one..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_the_E...%282008_film%29 More originality from Hollywood, please? Taksraven

A Tribute to the Cannon Fodder of Macross
taksraven replied to taksraven's topic in Movies and TV Series
Was Gilliam really cannon fodder though? Thats the main reason why he was left out but he can be included in Volume 3. Taksraven -
Hope you enjoy this little tribute I have put together of the Cannon Fodder of Macross. This is Part Two. I will put together Part One when I have enough footage, enjoy.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNSozc4DsqA Taksraven

On the theme of birds. I look at the nose of the VF-25 and I am reminded of the Kookaburra. So maybe VF-25 Kookaburra Or part of the Kookaburra's larger bird group, VF-25 Kingfisher I think that they both sound nice. Taksraven

Neat little find: Super Condor in Mospeada
taksraven replied to 1st Border Red Devil's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
We need obscure/fleeting designs/characters in anime AND SF in general. Look at the bounty hunters in Empire Strikes Back. Just by seeing these characters for a FEW SECONDS in the movie (except for Mr Fett of course), fan fiction writers have managed to pad out the entire careers of these guys. We love this sort of stuff. Speculation, wondering about filling in the gaps, explaining things that the filmmakers and writers could not be bothered doing. Taksraven -
The Second-to-Last Starfighter?!
taksraven replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This would be a major problem with any further Starfighter films. Robert Preston and Daniel O'Herlihy brought bucketloads of charisma and heart to the original film straight from the Hollywood and stage oldschool. Their deaths mean that there would be a hole in any attempted sequel that would be really hard to fill. Good luck to the producers if they do attempt a new film. Taksraven -
I think that I would rather watch an episode of GOGs rather than this 1000000000 BC crap. Enjoy... Taksraven

Have you ever flown with space whales. Get yerself an amiga emulator and find the rom for the game Starglider 2. Space whales are cool. Or read about the space whale in Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (this space whale was not so lucky). Or watch the videoclip of Passenger by Powderfinger. Wait, I think that this topic needs its own thread. Byeeeeeeee Taksraven

Only blasts from the good guys main guns will destroy spaceships. Enemy main guns can only do a little bit of "damage".
