  1. Yeah well, in reality people buy the Spice Girls, Britney Spears and Madogga so go figure. Taksraven
  2. Ahhh, Macross 3000. There is an anime that we will all be waiting for. It will be set in the far future, feature no mecha or characters that can be recognised and will be made using the crappiest CGI known to man. And they will make a few terrible trailers for it and it will be shelved forever. YAY!!!!! Taksraven
  3. Guld had pretty weird ears in M+. Not trying to contradict you, just pointing it out. Taksraven
  4. Already noted a couple of hundred posts ago. *yawn* Probably not on the combat roster. They made a few statements that indicated that the pilots have been flying plenty of sorties against the Vajra so they would probably have to be selective in the mecha that is sent out to give the pilots a break. Klan is a big girl (in many ways) and is probably expected to look after herself. Taksraven
  5. I would have thought we would hear this. Mikhail: "Is this going to be a straight fight sir or another bug hunt" Taksraven
  6. WHITES?????? I hope you mean Yellows otherwise you know something that the rest of us don't!!! Taksraven
  7. Has anybody watched the Lunar ones? Are they any good? Taksraven
  8. It does seem to be a three-way fight opening up. But I suspect that will change because I reckon that if we ever do get to see the Galaxy it will have been assimilated by the Vajra as some sort of Hive. If that happens your theory might turn out to be correct because I suspect we would see VF-25s going into battle alongside VF-27's to defeat the Vajra and the possessed Galaxy. I think that the Vajra are a hive race of some description, maybe an experiment carried out by the Protoculture. Taksraven
  9. Excellent avatar, well done. When they got that distress call, I thought I heard the classic mangled english word "emargancy" being used again. Anybody else hear it? Taksraven
  10. Thats easy. There is a good technical explanation for that. Here is the formula. VF-171 = CANNON FODDER VF-25 = HERO Understand the formula, its that simple.
  11. I think thats more likely, that they have their own base or **maybe** even a carrier ship docked to the Frontier, same style as the Quarter. They need some sort of resources since there was more than one VF-27 and the purple one was badly damaged by Alto. Taksraven
  12. In episode 7, when the Koenig Monster was in jet form and moving over to the cruiser, did anybody else notice that shots seemed to be deflecting off it. I thought I could see that happening but I am not sure. Taksraven
  13. I think you've pretty much summed it all up. Its the markings that baffle me. If it is a "top secret" fighter (which would be a fair assumption at this stage at least) then why the hell does it have Galaxy and NUNS logo's on it. I think that they have missed a good opportunity to here to have an "evil black" vehicle rather than purple. That would look a lot cooler. (I know that its probably an animation issue, with most of the action so far taking place in space it probably would be difficult to animate a totally black ship) Taksraven
  14. I had forgotten that they had "sword" weapons like that. Did they ever use them in the series or was it just restricted to artwork? Cool pic too. I liked a lot of the Mospeada designs, especially the inbit units, which were all different but there was a logical progression between them. You could see the evolution of the designs, which can be rare. taksraven
  15. Yeah, what about the time in frontier when Ranka's scream (yeah, I know, not singing) was enough to distract the Vajra so much that Ozma had the chance to run up from a fair distance and knife it? It didn't really bother me, I just found that bit interesting since it is a very old-school SF female reaction. Then again, it was demonstrated when Cathy threw up after the destruction of the Vajra cruiser that she is easily *distressed*. Any girl probably would be after letting Leon the Lech all over them. Eeeewwwwwwwww. AND with his tongue.... EEEEWWWWWWWWWW Taksraven
  16. Well, she IS clearly literate, so she has had some sort of education. Maybe home-schooling, or self taught? Taksraven
  17. You can't please all of the people all of the time. Well since there does not seem to be any sort of "Macross Idol" (apart from Miss Macross, which was clearly about more than singing (.) (.) ), there would be few easy ways for singers to kickstart their careers. Actually if you talked to most people in the entertainment industry today you would probably find that unless you have "connections" or "relations" in the industry already, it is VERY hard to get started. * Ever wonder how Mr Scary Christian Slater got into the industry? Ask his mother, Mary Jo Slater, who is one of the top casting agents in the U.S. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Jo_Slater * Ever wonder how nutjobs like Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez got into the industry, ask their father, Martin. * Ever wonder how ugly cows who can't act like Tori Spelling get into the industry, just ask her father Aaron Spelling, a major TV producer. (Ok, its pretty tough to ask him about it these days.) * Ever wonder how Ok looking blocks of wood like Angelina Jolie got started, ask her father, Jon Voight. And so on, and so on......... Taksraven
  18. Actually, looking at the pic of the Vajra, maybe thats *not* a tail. Taksraven
  19. Don't forget, the Vajra have 7 limbs (4 arms, 2 legs and a tail, plus some cool wings that we need to see again), so unless you put some extra arms on a Valkyrie (where would they fit), they will always be difficult to tangle with. But, if you have a sword and get a chance to swing it, the more limbs increases the chance of being able to cut something off, you would think. Even the heavy cannon mounted on top. That would at least make the Vajra stop and think. Then you have a special magical speaker that can play music across the vacuum of space mounted on your Valkyrie, or better still, speakers that are fitted into missiles, so you can get the Vajra to hear some of Ranka's singing so it gets distracted so you can cut it to bits, lick your lips and then put it into Leon's big Vajra boiling tank. Then the Vajra can wake up again, break the glass and we can watch as Cathy Glass faints for no apparent reason!!!!!! Yay!!!!! Taksraven. Thanks to Mr March for the cool Vajra pic.
  20. Already noted, the Vajra have NEVER been as deadly as what they were in the first episode. (Yes, I know that the SMS and others are better at fighting them now, etc.) Actually, I was pretty happy with how they appeared in the latest episode, but I did think it was weird the way the red one chickened out after Mikhail missed him. Just a bit odd. Taksraven
  21. Oh, I forgot. The other bit of the episode I really liked was Alto's flashback sepia image of his father beating him up. That backstory needs to be explored some more (and I'm sure it will be). Child abuse, as disgusting as it is, can lead to some conflicts of Shakespearean proportions. It also makes the story more grounded in the real world. And very dark too. There was sooooooooooo much going on in this episode. I also think that the way that they show the glowing eyes looking out of the egg, then cut back to the frontier with Ranka's three eyed friend looking around and then cut back to the yellow Vajra is space is no coincidence. Taksraven
  22. Nice to see people slagging off at each other more and more about sexuality in this forum. Taksraven
  23. I take it you mean the old animated TF and Beast Wars because the transformers in the live action films showed no real expression. And their dialogue *sucked* Taksraven
