As the silly season approaches, lets start to have some fun. Mine is the opening theme from Season 1 of Space 1999. It was really good last year when I was supervising a senior maths exam and I forgot that my phone was not on silent. I was standing there and the drum roll at the beginning of the theme blasted across the hall. Luckily I was close to a door and escaped quickly before I caused too much commotion. I used to have the Dr Who theme from the 1980's (the rock and roll one mainly used for Peter Davison), but it was way too loud. That one could wake the dead. Taksraven

HEY, PIGSY!!!!!! Good that you chose the cool original Pigsy rather than the crap replacement he had in the second season. Loved the way that Pigsy would cry at the drop of a hat. Brilliant actor. True to an extent, but some of Roddenberry's ideas are looking pretty outdated now. You can always see why hippies liked Trek with a lot of its ideals being very sixties (of course). I guess thats why Trek has never really gelled with me, even though I watch it and enjoy some of it there are a lot of aspects of the philosophies in the show that annoy me. The purpose of this movie has to be to capture new fans as well as retain the old ones and that is becoming a VERY difficult task. Taksraven

I liked the really dumb bit at the end of the live action TF movie where Starscream seemed to be going through the re-entry burn up as he launched and LEFT the Earth's atmosphere. Dumb stuff. Taksraven

What I will be interested to see is how much theft of ideas is going on with this new film. The original series was not too bad but from Next Gen onwards the franchise has stolen ideas on a regular basis from other parts of SF, particularly from some British shows such as Dr Who and Red Dwarf which I guess the creators thought many US fans would be unaware of. An example. I was watching the Voyager episode "Body and Soul", and this episode (Where the Doctor is forced to take over Seven of Nine's body) was a blatant ripoff of the Red Dwarf episode "Bodyswap" Taksraven

Looks like another trip is planned for the smegheads soon. After years of planning a big-budget/big-screen adventure for the crew it looks like those plans came to nothing and now there is a return to TV: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...ats-971254.html Personally, I am not too interested. Some people would say that the show went off the boil after the breakup of the Grant Naylor partnership, but I personally think that it was ALL those years trapped on Starbug that wrecked it for me. (That plus Rimmer going, Kochanski joining, and the Cat NEVER being given enough to do, a criminally underused character). I would have a look but I would not be expecting much. I would only be impressed if they decided after all this time to give the series a proper conclusion but I doubt that would happen. Taksraven

He seemed to like having all the boys sitting around him on the Battle Frontier bridge, and he didn't try to get off with Grace when he probably should have. I was reading on the Star Trek Wiki that they shut down the "Star Trek Experience" at Vegas only a month or two ago and how apparently Robert Picardo thought it was an idiotic move with a new movie about to be released. Taksraven
