Which music from more than 10 years ago do you think FOB sound like? Over ten years ago most of us were listening to the dying notes of grunge and alternative rock as Ricky Martin and new pop crap threatened to swamp us all. I know what you mean about setting trends though. Back in the 80's, everybody had stupid games consoles. It comes across as a deliberately written piece of comedy. Its that simple. It is possible for people to be unintentionally funny but this one really pushes it. It seems to be saying "People who love Robotech but not Macross are a bunch of naive fools" and who here has NEVER thought that? Taksraven

Sorry to hear about that. I am also sorry for my comments about the use of her in the new movie, especially since it now transpires that she was dying of leukemia at the time. She was a great talent and I would never doubt her importance to the Star Trek Universe. I think the greatest missed opportunity was the fact that she was not able to continue her second in command role from the Star Trek pilot. I think she would have been great in the part if allowed to continue. For me, her best Trek moment was in DS9 - The Forsaken, when she took Odo in her skirt. She will be missed. Taksraven

If thats the case, i wonder why HG was so quick to have the Invid written out and a NEW enemy (ie, one created by and owned by HG entirely you can bet) was introduced. I think that their legal claim to Macross is probably more dubious than they maintain. I guess if they ever lost Macross or Robotech they could fall back on their other classic productions with huge fanbases like Shaka Zulu to keep making money. Taksraven

They are certainly available in Australia as standalone units and many DVD player and burner drives in computers can be modded using software available on the net. (but you do run the risk of stuffing up your drive.) Taksraven

I think Macross Plus and 2 got released because HG was asleep at the wheel at the time. In Australia at least the popularity of anime has had its ups and downs and both these Macross titles came out at a time when there was a new 'boom' starting. It was the time in Australia when Manga released a heap of cool anime titles at about roughly the same time. (These titles included the two macross ones, fist of the north star, project a-ko, ninja scroll, legend of the overfiend, etc....) Taksraven
