  1. Here in the land of Aus, it is not being very extensively marketed. Just a few pics on buses and a few ads on TV. (I haven't been getting out much the last few weeks so I might be a bit isolated from it all.....) Taksraven
  2. And here come the reviews......... http://www.darkhorizons.com/reviews/888/Watchmen/ Much as I suspected, praising but also suggesting limited broader commercial appeal. "Intelligent" and "layered" films always cop this sort of thing. Taksraven
  3. Most people would get a shock if they googled themselves or their online aliases more. Just randomly googled myself and a few others here. My number of mentions is only due to my old Youtube account that had over 400 clips and 2 million total views b4 it was shut down. Dunno what else Gubaba has been up to though.....?? Results 1 - 10 of about 5,340 for eugimon Results 1 - 10 of about 37,500 for taksraven Results 1 - 10 of about 93,800 for sketchley. Results 1 - 10 of about 11,300,000 for Gubaba. Taksraven
  4. OK Man, you asked for it...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPOIy4Kb9M4 REMEMBER. It is impossible to UNSEE and UNHEAR things...... Taksraven
  5. I think that the expression "cyber-squatting" is much funnier. Not really the same thing but I love the concept. Taksraven
  6. Not weirded out, just a study comparing cultures probably...... Taksraven
  7. You mean the same sort of thing like the country I live in, you know, Austrayeee-ya. Taksraven
  8. Exactly right. All SF, including most "hard" SF depends on some kind of "magic" to make things work and happen. These sort of arguments always degenerate into "My Yamato could take out your Death Star" sort of thing. Taksraven
  9. Nah, THIS is the worst video ever..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_ZJ1bEYeYY Taksraven
  10. I think that the BBC is the organisation that has to win the prize for a total lack of foresight in regards to the future value of a lot of its programs. The BBC had stupid policies of wiping or destroying film/tapes of many of their early programs to: a) save storage space, b) Free up videotapes to be used again (they were relatively expensive at the time) and c) To avoid paying actors further royalty fee's for rebroadcast of their programs. As a result, hundreds of episodes of programs, many dearly loved such as Doctor Who and Dad's Army, were destroyed. One of the saddest parts of the story goes that comedian Peter Cook discovered that his BBC programs were being wiped so he went to the length of offering to replace the tapes himself out of his own pocket so he could keep the shows himself. the BBC said no to him. 11. Cool artwork..... Taksraven
  12. You would think so, but look at the legal crap that happened to Watchmen AFTER it was filmed. Taksraven
  13. I think that when Hollywood execs see how convoluted the whole "Robotech saga" is, plot-wise as well as legally, they will sh!t themselves and drop it like the brick that it is. Taksraven
  14. Never Ending Story remake (who cares??) ..... http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/13388/war...rending-story-/ TOTAL RECALL remake...... http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/13386/son...-recall-remake/ NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! 15. Is Spetember like Smarch? Taksraven
  16. Queadluun-Rau at about 45 seconds, with a few extra mounts on the shoulders. Do I get a prize?? Very spooky though. I think I would have spotted it if I hadn't of been told to look for it. I could have accepted the overall body shape as coincidence, but the wrists with guns/arms *really* give it away as somebody knowing what they are doing. Taksraven There is something about Samantha Bee that really sets my teeth on edge. Mr Colbert was much better at playing moronic "characters" like this.
  17. Interesting events at the Nine Inch Nails concert I went to on Tuesday night..... Taksraven
  18. Nerdy tech question. Who had head lasers first, Macross or Gundam?? Taksraven
  19. My VF has no nose. How does it smell??? Awful!!!! ha. Taksraven
  20. I think that stripping childrens shows of all violent content is a load of garbage. Sure, I don't appreciate shows that *worship* violence, and there are a few, but when you cutting it all out, especially out of shows like the old WB cartoons and BOTP seems a bit extreme to me. Taksraven
  21. Of course they can! Taksraven
  22. I know that this sort of nutty fandom is not just limited to SF however, (thank god). I have listened to enough commentaries on Simpsons episodes that a lot of OTT fans of that show really do annoy the production team at times via internet reviews, etc..... (Worst-Episode-Ever. You know the drill) The Simpsons makers are fortunate however, since they are able to address such issues in the show itself. What astounds me with SW though, is how one-eyed a lot of the fans are. The way that they talk you would think that Jar-Jar was the only character in the Phantom Menace. They must have had their eyes shut during one of the best lightsaber duels I ever saw. Taksraven
  23. Meh, I still say bring back Beast Wars, anyday...... Taksraven
  24. Given some of the heated SW discussions that we have had here, I thought that this was worth a look. Check out the trailer...... http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=...levsgeorgelucas Any thoughts?? Taksraven
