    God those Gatchaman OAV's sucked. And it wasn't just the dub. Its like those responsible for its creation had NO idea about what made the original Gatchaman cool. Those NTT advertisments featuring a new animated Gatchaman looked MUCH more promising, pity they didn't make more. Taksraven

    Not sure if I would consider Creation as a "School of thought". It is interesting to think about though. In the original version of War of the Worlds, the Martians were described as a "bulky, octopus-like creatures the size of a bear", to quote Wikipedia, and this was explained as clearly the best form for surviving on Mars. Its a pity that most filmed versions have made the creatures much more humanoid in appearance, but visual Sci-fi generally prefers to have humanoid aliens. Taksraven

    I don't think that it deserves its own thread at this stage, but the rumors of a Fantastic Four reboot are appearing again. Garth over at Dark Horizons (he should be a member here, I bet he's a Macross fan) speculates that a new film could be made so FOX could retain the rights to the franchise. If thats the case they should get Roger Corman to do a sequel to his Fantastic Four effort..... Garths brief article is here. Its interesting. Taksraven

    I wonder if this means that the Evangelion Live-Action project can now finally be considered dead? (Not that I ever seriously believed that it was really alive, it was always smoke and mirrors) Never wanted it to happen, it was probably going to be shite. Taksraven

    It was a nice little way to wrap up the original SDF:M. Its probably a bit of a pity that its not an official "episode" of the series. Everybody bitches and moans about not finding out the final fate of the Megaroad 1 and all of the characters in the fleet, but I still think its probably better if they leave it as is. Taksraven

    At least there was a contrast between Ranka's and Sheryl's boobs in Frontier. Not all the women were stacked like Pamela Anderson. And with Klan you had the contrast in one person. Taksraven

    ALL HAIL MACROSS PLUS!!!!! I remember seeing it when it first came out in Australia in 95/96, whenever, I'm not sure. A bunch of us just sat there going "WOW!!" It was the first show that I used the internet for to track the release dates. The big gap between the release of Parts 3 and 4 was VERY annoying, I remember. Happy days..... Taksraven

    I loved the "gritty" nature of Excalibur. People rolling around in pigshit and mud. Armour covered in blood. Certainly much better than that "First Knight" load of crap. A remake would suck. Taksraven
