The VF-27 can't repel any beam cannon, remember that she didn't actually hit him with her cannon, she hit an asteroid that Brera got behind making her think she hit him which was why she let her guard down. He was just to maneuverable for her, otherwise she could have done as much damage as Alto did.

I imagine the ECA strengthens the armor similarly to come armor concepts for human soldiers in the future, where the armor itself is light weight and flexible but when hit by a bullet the molecules realign and make it hard as metal. Current research is just looking into this I don't believe there are any prototypes in existance (unless they are secret). I once saw something where a scientist was showing a material they made that has the consistency of pudding or yogurt, but when a magnetic field was applied it got thicker and had the consistency of peanut butter. So I see the ECA as doing this, that surplus power is probably making the armor more dense and harder to be penetrated.

Here is something to think about, instead of a second season, after 25 episodes we may see things like that did with Mac7. I.E. an OVA follow up or extra episodes and I certainly won't discount the possibilities of a Macross Frontier movie.

Well Klan doesn't really fly a fighter, she flies a suit so the big beam cannon works for her. As for the VF-25 vs. VF-27, based my my observations it is clear the two were designed for different mission parameters. However if you must compare them directly despite their uses for different things (as in a dogfight between Alto and Brera which we will see again no doubt) then the way I see it, as planes the 27 and 25 seem about the same, the VF-27 just has more toys. To elaborate: As a plane, from an engineering standpoint it seems the VF-27 and the VF-25 are nearly identical, the 27 having more maneuverability and acceleration while the 25 has more speed. In other words if the 2 were to have a straight line race, the 27 would get ahead of the 25 at the beginning, but the 25 would be able to catch up because it can gain a faster speed but just doesn't accelerate as fast. This seems evident as Brera couldn't seem to shake Alto at all (which in truth shouldn't have been a program if you regard the physics of space such as lack of inertia or friction of air resistance, but lets not get into that). So in my opinion, looking at the two as just planes they are roughly equal with each having slight differences based on how they are designed to be used. Now of course the 27 has some more high tech equipment which gives it a bit of an advantage. However as it seems to be designed to do hit and run tactics with the more maneuverability, acceleration, and big honking space gun, it seems not at its best against other fighters, especially ones designed for dogfighting such as the 25. Just because the 25 has less advanced gadgets doesn't mean it isn't as good, those gadgets seem to be made for the type of hit and run anti-ship stuff that seems to be the design of the 27. If you were to give the 25 a fold booster (internal or not, I think the internal ones are prototype probably), a virtual cockpit program, and a big honking space gun like that it could probably do the same stuff (hmm, fast pack idea there). It seems to be the VF-27 is the evolution of valkyries like the VF-19 and the VF-22, designed for special missions where any old plane just won't cut it, whereas the VF-25 is the evolution of your basic all purpose fighters like the VF-1, VF-11, and the VF-171, where you can equip a certain type of Fast pack depending on what you need it to do. If I needed to send in someone to take out an enemy target without a large battle I'd use the 27, but if I need to fight a swarm of enemy fighters I'd rather have the 25.

I think 26 was a number from an official source, i.e. official number. I don't have a clue what source though.. I heard it here where it was said to be official. Don't get me wrong, I'd love an extra season but I will be fine as long as there is at least the 25 or 26 they have said so far. Any less and it seems too short.

I don't even believe there is a proposed season 2 for Frontier... as much as we would all love it, it is still just 25 or 26 episodes as far as I know.

I'm listening to the OST 1 now, I'm only on the second song but it rocks so far! I love the intro (Frontier 2059). The best part is half of this we haven't heard before.

Actually by the numbers a VF-25 is supposed to be relatively larger than a VF-1. Either Klan is really tall or the animators just can't decide whether they are VF sized or less.

I'd suggest freeze framing parts of episodes where it transforms. Truthfully the best shot is from ep.1 when Ozma's armored VF-25 transforms from Gerwalk to Battroid. Back when I first saw the deculture edition I did this (me being the naturally curious engineer and had to figure it out) and got a pretty good idea of it right away, now I know exactly how it works (though there may be small details I'm missing). I'll know definitely when the DX toy and the models come out later on of course.

FTP... the letters sound familiar but I'm drawing a blank, can you remind or tell me what that is? I think I can get the remainders of Zero, but your help may make it easier. As for Plus, I have been looking into obtaining a copy of the movie version anyway (Plus I have already seen before, but not the movie edition) so I might be able to help you out in that department eventually.

In the discussion for the VF-25 model kit we were talking about the super pack accessories and that got me thinking about the same for the DX. We know the DX will have super part accessories, that recent photo shows them in the works. However are we to assume they will be included in the initial VF-25 DX lines or will they come later? And then if they do come later, will you have to get another VF-25 DX toy to get the super packs, or could they be separate? I have a feeling the super packs being sold separately may be unlikely.

If that is true, then I'd say if you want VF-25 with super packs but don't want to buy it twice, just waiting until the super pack set. However if you are willing to buy 2 VF-25's then you can display both, with with packs and one without. Kind of a win win situation in my book, even though I'm not likely to buy 2 considering my money problems. Besides I am thinking of holding out for the DX, which is finally starting to look up.

Glad to help. As for screening other Macross shows, well I need to have them before I can screen them and that is the tricky part. This is especially true as I refuse personally to pay for a rapidshare account so the iMacross stuff doesn't do me a lot of good. I have all Frontier, and I am only holding Zero ep.1, but the rest of that is easier to get. I have a few other markers out there though I might be able to get other stuff from if you want something specific, but I'd need to know what you'd want to see if I could find an episode of good quality to screen. So if you want anything from like Macross 7 for example, I'd need to know where it is to find it, especially since I've never watched 7 so I wouldn't know much anyway.

If that is going to happen, we will probably know by the time the 1/72 kit is out, at which point I'd suggest waiting until the 25 + Super parts kit comes out to get the whole thing and save money. However it seems in Japan model accessory kits happen often, but not in America (despite the fact that this would never come out in America) where here they do everything in a big set, you don't often see accessory sets.

It wouldn't make much sense for Mikhail to pilot a suit designed for female Zentradi though... Bobby yes, Mikhail not so much.

Those are just buildings behind Ozma, that's from ep.2 right after he knifed the lobster. In actuality what is behind Ozma in battroid mode is actually the cockpit canopy as it ends up facing backward from the Valk in battroid mode (sort of the opposite of the VF-1 which is facing forward). I always assumes what they see through in battroid mode in front of them is a screen projected on the floor of the cockpit as their seats are rotated so they aren't sitting sideways. Edit: Oh I see, you were just asking if it was the canopy, well I answered that anyway, it is.

Those were some really good pics. Some of these fan arts over exaggerate the breasts more than the show does, but some seem to do it better, not that I dwell on these things. If we were to have a club president, I'd think the founder of the organization would be the best, but we don't need a hierarchy until B.O.I.N.G. launches an attack against us, and that's only if this turns into fan boy(or girl) gang wars.

Well Robotech did make SDF-1 a bigger deal to the Zentradi and the others that were associated (I wouldn't know, I only ever watched the Macross portion of it anyway before migrating to actual Macross) but I don't think that is where I got that idea. I'm probably thinking of something else entirely but I can't remember what so I was thinking maybe it was this.

And you all were worried.... I had a feeling it would start to get better. I think it will still get better.
