As I figured, but it is useful to have another opinion. The reason I ask is because while I really like how Battle Frontier looks in Attacker, a friend of mine who has never seen Macross (and probably never will, he doesn't like many anime nor does he want to watch anything in Japanese, also seems to hate subtitles for anything) was speaking about how he thought it was such a dumb idea (having not seen the show he couldn't see the cool factor that I do I guess) and I had really no reason to tell him for why the ship turns into a giant robot.

On that note I have to wonder what is the purpose for Battle Frontier to transform at all if it can fire the cannon so effectively in carrier mode? Besides it looking so amazingly awesome when in storm attacker mode there really is no extensional purpose to it. Some people say it can fire in a greater arc but I don't see this as enough reasoning to necessitate a transformation into a large humanoid robot. Don't get me wrong I like that aspect ans I think from that one picture Battle Frontier is just awesome looking in robot mode (seriously Bandai, Battle Frontier toy, work on it), I just wonder if there is a purpose now.

True which means any valk then could use verniers to do this, however they rarely do because of gerwalk mode. Meanwhile the SV-51 is specifically mentioned to be able to do this, indication it is used.

I don't remember ever seeing that the YF-21 could VTOL in fighter, why do that when you can go gerwalk? I know the SV-51 could VTOL in fighter though.

Anyone have a high resolution version of that scan showing Battle Frontier in carrier and storm attacker mode? I'd really like do see a better version of that picture.

Large rack on a size 0 frame doesn't sound well proportioned, I don't think that would mean much to me, but each person has a different opinion on what is good. Far be it from me to say anything against someone about who they liked. Yeah I think you don't have to worry much about Macross 7 and nudity or anything. This should probably get back on topic, enough with talk about girlfriends and all that.

I hope I get a large red Bomba sign when I finish 7, I'm half way through the series but I am not disappointed with it (still not my favorite, but I do like it) and I like Fire Bomber music a lot now.

Battle Frontier looks so amazing in Attacker mode. Its shape is so much nicer than Battle 7 was, the bigger legs help that I think, and the body seems smaller more compact which works very well. The color really works for it as well. I so hope Bandai makes a figure of Battle Frontier, me want!!!

Um.. LAI made the YF-24, they then upgraded it to the even better VF-25 from that prototype design. The YF-24 is why Galaxy Anonymous wasn't expecting that much of a challenge, apparently the VF-25 is a bit more than what they expected. This was all said in ep.15. As far as we know the VF-27 is also developed from the YF-24 but we don't exactly know who built it but it was probably people on Macross Galaxy since it is designed for cyborg pilots.

I finally watched the episode. So hard for me to watch them very early now sine I went back to school (internet sucks here and they block torrents). Anyway this was a really good episode, they keep on piling them up. I bet in the next few episodes until the end they will only keep getting better. I like the direction the people of SMS took, I think it was correct. Alto just doesn't understand and Luca has become a NUNS puppet. I'm not entirely sure why Klan didn't go with Quarter, maybe she feels there is nothing left for her to do with Michel gone.

Nothing wrong with that, legs are sexy. I think the VF-25 looks just great, I just don't want to nitpick as long as I get a VF-25 toy that is nice looking and despite little gripes of some people that is pretty good looking, probably get better by release anyway.

I told myself to not post on this discussion of Valk engines because anyone here that knows me knows I would end up with ridiculously long posts and I'd start talking really fast (well you wouldn't really notice that I guess) which usually results it people not even reading what I'm saying because they are annoyed at me or something. I am kind of proud of myself for holding back. I have been reading it all though and I like it, lot of good information going around, and we have a professor! That's just awesome. I wish my professors (I am studying Aerospace Engineering if anyone forgot) would discuss Valkyrie stuff like this with me, but I doubt any of them know of Macross (anything is possible though). If you want my quick thing on it, from my knowledge, Valk engines use thermonuclear reactors that heat up the air sucked in from the atmosphere to plasma and thrust it out the end to create propulsion. The nuclear reactors most likely are fusing hydrogen or helium-3 (the best fusion materials most likely, Helium-3 is also in abundance on the Moon btw) for energy. In space there is most likely on board propellant that is also most likely hydrogen like D3v said which would be best stored in liquid form as you can carry most that way. The compendium explains that super dimension space gets involved somewhere with this but I'd rather not concern myself with that stuff as that is just a way to make it even more powerful than the basic form of what I just explained. That is my 1-2 quick explanation of what I think the Valks are doing with their engines, I have stuck by this. It may or may not be what Kawamori is actually thinking of, but it makes sense to me. Depends on how advanced you want it to be. I know a few like SolidWorks and Catia, but they are used by engineers so they would cost you a pretty penny. Very likely you want something less advanced than these.

Having not seen Dynamite 7 nor listened to the track I couldn't vote for that. However I will find out eventually.

ULTRA FIRE!!!! It has my favorites, so that does it for me.

We have only seen the VF-25 with super parts in atmosphere in gerwalk mode, no other. Armored has been seen in gerwalk and battroid. Maybe those slats open up slightly to get some air in but the point of Fast Packs to to provide extra fuel and armament so it may in fact be running internal.

I kind of want to see a figure of the NMC, either Battle Frontier or one of the others. Don't know what the scale would need to be though.

Based on size ratios, very likely. The NMC just needs a big enough door.

Let's remember one of the reasons Macross Plus is so different at times is that Kawamori originally wasn't trying to make a Macross OVA, just a story about 2 test pilots. However it became Macross eventually I think because that is the only way it could get done. This is probably why you don't see anything about the Protoculture, besides that it is for the most part a character study (with two really awesome mechs duking it out).

The original SDF-2 would have been able to transform just like the SDF-1, but it was remodeled into the Megaroad-01 for the Large Scale Colonization project.

Is anyone else having trouble with the GG subs? I am using the .ass file and after the eyecatch the subs are late from the dialog about almost 30 seconds. If it is because GG put an advertisement in like they have been lately you'd think they would fix that for the .ass file because my raw doesn't have an ad in it. Is there a way to change the timing in a .ass file so it fits? EDIT: Looking up Aegisub, I hear that can do it. Still think it wouldn't hurt for GG to edit their .ass file for raws without a middle advertisement. The sponsor thing in the beginning and end doesn't bother me, I can edit video out for that, but I can't edit video in.
