  1. I think he means the all the green 262s piloted by Bogue and the rest of the knights are all the same. He wasn't referring to Keith's Hs model which is of course noticeably different.
  2. Ikenai Borderline? They've only played it in episode 1 and 2 (and both times were actually the same instance of the song, it just got split between them). So really it only played once in 6 episodes so far. By comparison Love, Halation the War, and the song from episode 3 have been played twice each (the latter appeared again in episode 4 right before the Aerial Knights stole the show with their battroids). In any case I think Kawamori actually said the plan is to try to introduce a new song at least once every couple episodes if not more to keep things fresh.
  3. They rose up from within that way. Each deck has elevators to the inner hangers I'm sure since it is designed to split like that for space travel.
  4. Mylene also worked with Jamming Birds once, which is the earliest 'proper' Tactical Sound Unit (even though it was kind of a failure, but it is pretty much impossible to outshine Sound Force).
  5. No harm done, lol. It is my duty to question such things when I see them though.
  6. You mean the wind and drag... in space? Where they were in that episode? Where super parts are typically used cause they cause too much drag to be useful in atmosphere?
  7. Any chance you could send me that wallpaper?
  8. Analysis should come before a complete post, lol. However I'll grant you it since the final version makes sense. For all we know the family on Mirage's father's side are equivilant to falling bricks in planes, heh.
  9. That implies Max was 0% to cause that dilution... and that is just wrong. Also Mirage is Miranda's daughter.. we don't have any clue if she was a good pilot.
  10. It'd probably look like certain pachinko games.
  11. Isn't Michael from Frontier supposedly part Zolan?
  12. Oh he had eyes alright... He was even estimating her measurements lol.
  13. Well there is this for the shield, if you want to rotate it maybe. Or the holo-cloud version. Shield is more clear. If you wanted a pic from the toy... well the best are already in the thread really. Hope that helps.
  14. I don't know about that SD space thing you mentioned. Sounds like a Star Trek tactic more than a Macross one. That being said the consensus based on Seto's data seems to be the fuel in the VF is for the reaction engines entirely. In atmo, it combines with the air for exhaust, in space, it is used solely on its own in and incredible amount.
  15. That is the general consensus that the extra fuel and equipment allow for better space operations. It might not necessarily be longer however. It could though. As you mentioned, in SDF:M we see the VF-1s in space a lot before FAST packs appeared. My recent back and forth with one Seto Kaiba in the Macross Delta mecha/tech thread has also pointed out to me more details on how the engines work in space that had eluded me for a long time (you can refer to that for details, presuming you don't want Delta spoilers). Keeping that in mind, the VF-1 running slick in space definitely doesn't have the ability to go long term if it is running its engines a lot. However in space you also do not need constant thrusting (it looks like they do anyway, but I'd pin that on artistic reasons because it looks better to animate than a plane flying with no exhaust, though there is some question on whether the exhaust should be visible all the time.. but I digress). As such, with careful use, they could keep their sortie time good without wasting their limited fuel probably. FAST packs of course make this much easier. Additionally going back to my first comment, FAST packs also can allow for the valk to do more in space without wasting the fuel, even if it keeps their sortie time around the same as it was without the FAST packs (such as more maneuvering, or specific accelerations that might have used too much fuel without the extra engines and tanks).
  16. RTGs are a lot safer than many might think.. but also the fact they are used for deep space missions more than anything else is not because of any danger it is because they are reliable and solar panels have a distance limit before they aren't as feasible. In fact, take my word for it in detail, I wrote a blog post about it years ago back when I had a blog (now defunct): https://kimbody1535.wordpress.com/tag/rtg/
  17. I've been suggesting this, but since it can't be confirmed outside of a show reference and is basically a hand wave it is just a musing at best.
  18. The older SV fighter has indeed been quite the subject of talk, lol. You are correct about that, constant thrusting is not needed in space. The show implies they do it anyway, but artistic license and all that. Realistically, they likely are not always thrusting, and that does make a difference. However having a high acceleration can be beneficial in combat too, which does require thrust. With the inertia store converter, g-forces aren't as much to worry about either probably.
  19. Yeah that is a good point on those. I've been in engine test cells and around trim pad runs of jets at night... That is one pretty sight for sure.
  20. Don't play with my emotions now... That almost sounds like it needs to happen. I can see it now, testing new thermoacoustic heat management system. Some idiot puts on Fire Bomber, everything explodes brilliantly and in the distance across the stars you can hear Basara shouting "BOMBAA!!!" through fold space cause he is just so happy his song could move machines to amazing explosions, lol. I think we've just cracked the story for an M7 sequel series guys.
  21. Just watched the episode myself, pretty good I think! Then again I enjoy exposition usually. Especially political intrigue exposition.
  22. Well Product9 that is also a legitimate method of fusion powered propulsion (called solid core to use Nuclear Thermal Rocketry terms, where as the actual method as we've just learned is more of a plasma core). I also used to think the solid core method was more correct, though only in the absence of actual data. I'm stoked to have actual data now. You are right though, reactor fuel is the grand limitation. In atmo, they really can save a lot, that air makes a huge difference. It still has an upper limit but I suspect for most sorties they are in no danger of reaching it. In space they obviously need to be more careful. The exhaust plume difference in the later CG valk appearances vs the older cel-animated ones is likely just an artistic choice I bet. I could go into what exhaust plumes should look like given certain fuels used (the plume would probably be mostly transparent actually) but I suspect that is less of a factor than just how it was drawn back then before computers were doing it. JB0 with the thermocouples... I didn't want to bring that up because the real world ones are SO inefficient lol.. but yeah it is a fair point.. overtech may have made better ones. They still don't get rid of the heat, so radiation (or fold shunting, why not) is still needed. But yeah, we are already at massive heat gradients.. why not add some extra thermocouples regardless of efficiency while we're tossing that heat. Using every strategy together ups overall system efficiency after all.
