It's true, that is how I managed to snag a preorder for the Sv-262! I hope that if preorder madness is too much for me I'll still be as lucky for this one afterward. After all, the Hayate valk reopened several times it seems. Incidentally, I am probably going to need a lot more stands soon... will be back at your site soon I bet, lol.

So to try and get Messer I'll have to be up at 2am on January 6th.. early Friday morning... that'll be rough but... I really want the 31F to go with my Sv-262Hs (rival displays are my thing apparently, I got a YF-30 and YF-29B after all, lol). So let the battle be joined.

Messer pre-order is Jan 6? Ok then! That is the one I've been waiting for, and after Yeti's pics and review I am super excited now. I own a YF-30 and already love that so I really am looking forward to a 31 now. And Messer releases in April in time for my birthday! Of course.. I have to succeed in pre-ordering it first. I managed to get a 262 preorder on a second opening, but I was in a timezone at the time that made it easier. Now I'm gonna have to be up at a weird time to do it I bet. What time do these preorders usually happen again (in EST for my reference)?

The F-104 looking plane is called the Sv-154 in fiction. Still no word on if it actually is transforming or not, but it wouldn't be a bad bet since it is Macross.
-
I suppose that is true. In the engineering world we follow the idea that form follows function. If it looks pretty and works then that is a happy accident. However the looks are the last thing designed for in a project usually. Sounds like that general was ok with getting an inferior model as long as it looked cool, so I guess that worked out. The 22 certainly does look nice, lol.

If he is serious and doesn't know, the YF-23 is the real world prototype fighter jet that was the competitor to Lockheed's prototype the YF-22. Macross often takes inspiration from reality so these kind of competitions like the one in Macross Plus happen all the time (there was a competitor to the F-35 as well.... but it looks really weird... not that the 35 is much better). Anyway, Lockheed won the contract and developed the F-22. I actually know a lot of people who worked on the design team of the YF-23, who kinda feel shafted now. In hindsight a lot of evidence shows it really was the better plane, but this is how things go. If you want to learn more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_YF-23

All I can say is this is the BEAUTY OF UNDERSTANDING!!! Sorrynotsorry.

I also realized this upon reaching that episode, which made the whole thing sadder really. He was able to uncover the secret but was so focused on saving Sivil he wasn't able to show his contemporaries the better way. It is also possible Gigil was so caught up in his feelings he just couldn't tell either.

I got lucky for the Sv-262. I got it when it reopened for like 20 minutes about a month ago.. but I only was able to jump on it because I was deployed overseas and happened to have wifi at work, and more importantly I was not busy at the time so I could follow the link from here. I'm back in America again and now that kind of thing will happen when I'm sleeping.. so while I got this.. getting Messer's valk or the 31A eventually will be very hard.

There are two primary Walkure albums, Walkure Attack and Walkure Trap. Aside that there is some single releases but with the exception of variations of Giraffe Blues (such as Mikumo and Freyja solo versions, since the album version is both of them) the two albums cover pretty much everything seen in the show.

*Actually kinda likes Basara because he tends to like the a-hole character with a complex reason for being an a-hole in shows*

I was finishing my M7 rewatch today and having an idea of what to listen to in pretty certain that no3Ljm is correct.

She flew in one in episode 23, but you see her VF and her in the suit in 22 (after she kills the Frontier hit squad sent after her).

No that is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Mind you, if you know the other, go ahead and enlighten me, I don't mind knowing all versions. So I suppose auto is just how out ends up getting spoken in Japanese (considering how most Japanese characters end up corresponding to an English consonate-vowel pairing and all). Kind of amusing how it accidentally forms an entirely different word in English. Just goes to show how translation is never a simple thing.

Mm... those super parts do look nice. I've never been big on the Lil Drakken's really.. so like most, I'd have them displayed separate. The missile packs are worth it all though, especially since they are conformable and can be used in atmosphere. I am glad I got this valk too.. now I am worried I'll have to get the add ons, lol.
-
I never really liked the super parts for the 29. Seemed excessive and ruins the sleek look, besides the B never used them in game. Incidentally, I'm quite happy with that 29B I bought off you so no worries lol.

I knew what the phrase meant, lol. I just wanted the exact Japanese phrasing. Sounds like the only Japanese word used is Kanchou though. Guess I could have just listened a bit harder to get that.

In Macross 7 when the computer says "Captain on the bridge." whenever Max enters the room, can anyone tell me what the correct romanized Japanese phrasing for that is? It's for curiosity mostly, I can hear it in the show obviously but it is hard to tell each word when you don't know Japanese too well.

Heh.. well he is basically a space hippie in the whole sense of being a pacifist and the peace and love angle.. just like Lennon. Hmm.. if John Lennon had a Valkyrie...
-
Feel the Universe is a wonderful song! One of my favorites from that album. It's a very Basara song too (and if you know him, it fits Fukuyama a lot too, and adds a bit to his Lennon-eqsue visage. Though you might have to watch the lyrics more closely to really see that, I get flashes of 'Imagine' from some of the lines).
-
You mean Kawamori? I actually really like Dynamite.. you have to kinda see past the obvious and read into the story. Basara and the stuff he does is never blatantly obvious so why should the message of the story be? Besides... they are just called whales, it is actually a space-born organism that is capable of travel via fold energy transfer... duh.. lol. And weird music? Most of Dynamite Fire kicks ass... and the ones that don't so much aren't even played in the OVA!
-
I always liked Flash in the Dark more, but Heart and Soul is definitely good. Fukuyama-san even did a solo version of it on Fukuyama Fire.
-
You and me both! It was also clear she and Basara were hitting it off, and since Basara usually doesn't even react to women being interested in him that was pretty telling! I still want to see a Jenius family reunion OVA where everyone appears and naturally plot requires them to all team up as a family of ace pilots (and Mirage) to, I don't know, save the day or something.

Easy answers really. Emilia needed a remote enough area to practice singing that wouldn't be too disruptive, she actually says this. As it turns out, she was still being a bit disruptive since the sound of her voice carried and scared the townsfolk (which is why it was an issue btw). No one wants really loud noises where they live. Talk to anyone who lives near train tracks, airport flight lines, and wind farms. As for why she wanted to sing macronized instead of the easier to manage miclone size... she probably just preferred being macro honestly. That's her mother's Zentradi blood in her, and while Milia has adapted to being a miclone, many Zentradi just like their larger size more (such as Exedol, though his reasons are slightly vain). Her mech has multicolored smoke machines installed because it is flashy and she is training to be a performer. It's showmanship, lol. Basara's valkyrie was putting on a laser light show at the same time after all. Don't tell me you've never seen a smoke machine used at a concert before, lol. The movie ended abruptly because it had a 30 minute run time, lol. It has that because it was a theatrical movie for a Japanese anime series. This was actually very common in the 90s and early 2000s for there to be short half our movies made for TV shows, especially if they got more than one movie. Today more full length movies are happening but a common thing to do back then was to have multiple shows get movies and then theaters would double feature them and play them back to back for the price of one ticket. Often to two movies would be made by the same production company I'd surmise. In this case Macross 7 the movie was double billed with the release of Macross Plus Movie Edition (which played second, and while that one was feature length, it was a good opportunity to cash in on the fans of both Macross Plus and 7).

You'll eventually get over it, but Seventh Moon will be with you forever, lol. (Cause it is at the beginning of every episode, good thing it is a good opening song.. though like Dynamite Explosion more).
