New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Master Dex replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Eh who needs topics anymore? Besides we're all having fun with the discourse it seems, and it is still vaguely about Macross, or comes back to it easily enough. So I say it works out in the end. -
New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)

Is relevant a lot but more so lately because there was a remake of the anime recently (though the remake while nicer looking is heavily truncated and is being completed as movies). -

I really wish I could up vote this more than once cause it perfectly sums up my thoughts and how I've seen things for years. It's also been one of the things that makes me a Star Trek fan and also something I've always liked about Macross as well. There was always a better answer, they just couldn't always see it at first and the urge to pick the tactical option for simplicity is very hard to resist. This is very relevant in any age including today. In my view the worst villains force conflict only because every other attempt failed or they thought it was easier (and ultimately wasn't). This doesn't mean the war was wrong to fight (usually) for the heroes, it just means it was the least ideal outcome since things were so bad it became necessary. I actually think Yang Wen-li from Legends of the Galactic Heroes says it best: "There are few wars between good and evil; most are between one good and another good." -
They didn't cel-shade much animation back then. I think I know the pic you mean on that site and I think Mr. March (or a contributor to the site) made that image on their own and it was added there. As such there isn't really a repository for that kind of stuff. Though... a lot of the animations from the Macross Pachinko game has a cel-shaded quality to it, and there is no shortage of screens you could take from that I suppose. I might even be able to get a few given enough time (though others could beat me to it probably).

I'd bet it's just Roid trying to goad Heinz into helping by lying... cause you point out exactly why it makes no sense. Unrelated, but I really like your Hiragana face avatar... I want to try to pronounce it but I'm not sure what order to say it in, lol.

The star singer is a protoculture designed to use songs to affect fold waves. Mikumo is a clone of the Star singer and why Roid used her. It seems it was one of the protoculture's many ways of copying the Vajra which might explain the lack of originally in Roid's final plan. Heinz was the wind singer, a line of Windermerians who had that power too but far less than the star singer ability. I could see Heinz being descended from a line of wind singers (though it seems not all of them are wind singers), due to a vague ancient protoculture connection (Roid certainly would assume it was ordained).

I concede on these points. Not that I was trying to fight it. I admit to some ignorance since I can't examine all the supplementary materials like you can. That is why it is nice to have you around, heh. I had forgotten the General Galaxy connect to SV Works too. Another notch of the shady history of that company, heh.. well not SV Works in general.. but their ties through Epsilon who provided to Windermere knowing their plans is the shady bit. I can guess SV Works on it's own, as well as Epsilon in some respects, has at least initial legitimacy before this war. My point mainly being that it seems shady deals an individuals seem to often result from General Galaxy even when they aren't directly involved anymore.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Master Dex replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
It really entirely depends on your personal tastes. Like any music there can't be an objective truth even if there is something a majority may agree on. Walkure is more modern pop than stuff in Frontier (which was a lot if that too just in last decades style and had high level composing) which some can enjoy. I like it fine, it was good to me. I really liked Frontier music too. My personal tastes lead me to enjoy Fire Bomber more than others but that's indicative of me not some idea that it is overly better in every way. There hasn't been a Macross series with music I didn't like yet, though I'm not really a fan of Sharon Apple stuff honestly. I know some will think that's weird but again, personal taste. Maybe what I'm getting at is the question shouldn't be what makes it better or different but for what each person who likes it enjoys it personally. This may be more enlightening to those who aren't on board than a bunch of back and forth trying to claim it is objectively good or not. (This can be applied to liking the shows as well, but that doesn't mean I won't lambast Delta for problems that hurt it in my opinion just to be clear. Others can still choose to like it though.) -
EDIT: Disregard, I seem to have stumbled into the correct method after a lot of trial and error.. it's all synced up and updated now. Hey so I just got a new phone. I still have the old phone accessible for now. I am trying to figure out how to transfer my data and progress but it is just not working for me. I've read that you link it to a social media account, which I had it on my old phone linked to Twitter for some time, and that if you link to that same one in the new phone it would download everything and get you where you should be... except I've linked to twitter in the new phone.. same account... and nothing.. still at level 1 on a new game. What am I doing wrong?
-
I hadn't considered that, but I took it as them just knowing Windermere had the fighter already. Yeah that doesn't surprise me somehow. I was thinking structurally.. as the tech was something that would be spread regardless.. I consider that Gen 5 tech, not YF-24 based stuff.. even if the 24 was the first to be designed with it in mind.

Some have taken that last message as meaning Megaroad 01 fell into a black hole, though I don't know if that is proven. It's highly unlikely the Draken III is used anywhere else. It was pretty much made for Windermere, and not a design based on the current YF-24 Era. It's basically designed to fight NUNS (specifically, other VFs). NUNS themselves wants more capability. There is also that... The Draken is not very capable... In fact it kinda sucks at anything beyond flying in an atmosphere due to its over specialized design and needs extra parts for fuel and missiles (especially in space) cause they just had to have a fancy transformation system. Also they literally bring swords to gunfights (they do also bring guns at least, but the swords are so unnecessary they are mainly there for Rule of Cool). The fighter is a symbol of a nation more than an effective combat tool like most other VFs are. I'd be shocked if anyone else used it.

Good researcher has notes on everything. Bonus points that he's also an engineer. We love notes. -

If someone took a Boring Not-a-flamethrower and put some UNS kite stickers, or NUNS or what have you... It'd pass for a Macross The Flamethrower lol. -

I say the thread title should change to New Series in 20XX, lol. Seems more likely we'll get something in that frame heh. -

I assume they'd have this AU Sheryl being more skilled in that then ours. Actually if it was a VF-27 she'd have to be a cyborg so it'd be easy. So much for those all-natural selling points though, lol. -
I take honor in being the last person to ask that, lol. Still it's so rare to not have any answer for something like that.

Fair point. I'll consider than plan B. With A being just planning to stick with the current order. I figured as much somehow. Yeah, I'll stick with the current preorder and worry about future versions once they for sure exist. I'm happy to just finally have a VF-4.
-
So thread moves faster than me. I just learned about the VF-4 variants. I have one of the FB2012 VF-4s on preorder but if they release a Max I'd be sorely tempted to cancel to get that instead.... but it sounds like some think these variants might not really happen? I want to wait for a bonafide preorder date before making any rash decisions. At the very least I won't be unhappy to stick with the FB2012 model... but I don't have the disposable income for multiples and several types so I am really wondering now, heh.

Alright, with my CDJ confirmation email I will bid good luck to any still trying, thanks to the link posters again, and congrats to those who got it, and apologies for those that didn't yet. As always, have a good night.
-
Yeah once again props to the people sharing links here, I couldn't find it on my own at CDJ or HLJ. You guys are the real heroes.
-
Got it at CDJ. Doesn't look like it used my points on it but maybe I just rushed through the process to ensure an order. No big deal though.
-
I know HLJ usually doesn't put the order page up until the minute the pre-order starts.. but CDJ usually has it earlier, not finding it however.
