I like LV-7. It resemble to F-104, in fact, in the Macross Handbook, Shoji Kamawori mentioned the F-104 (though I don't know much about Japanese), while the page shows this LV-7. Yes I don't like the sword either, I would prefer it to be equip with gun. Here is the LV-7 in Thunderbird scheme

I'll give VF-0 a miss for sure, be it Hasegawa model or Yamato one. It's too closely resemble to VF-1. I like SV-51, its a fresh design, least to say. I like Su-27 as well
