  1. Thanks for the comparison pics Vi-RS. I prefer the Hi-Metal's shoulders. Otherwise it's Yamato for everything else. I wonder if there is a line they can't cross regarding IP infringement. Wasn't the shoulder issue basically that the factory were using the wrong pins, which caused the breakages? I was under the impression that the smooth pinned shoulders were safe.
  2. I like most of what T-REX do but that is an easy pass for me. Now, if they were to create 1/10 Bartley and Blowsperior mod kits...
  3. Well... there is MP-3G Ghost Starscream. Since Grimlock we've had MP-8X King Grimlock and two variations of MP-1B Black Convoy.
  4. Robotech was the single most important cartoon I watched as a youth. I decided to choose the career of an animator because of it, back in 1986. Goodbye Carl. Thank you for Robotech.
  5. As BlueMax said, it's an unassembled version of the toy. HLJ.com is the only retailer you can order it from outside of Japan. Smooth and knurled pins are included. Various sizes. It uses the old crotch lock system.
  6. Mine arrived yesterday. There are some sprues and an instruction book as well as the usual manual. You get both sticker and decal options. And a huge amount of little bags
  7. Were problems with the Yamato 1/60 YF-19 floppiness addressed with the Double Nuts and Bird of Prey releases?
  8. Thanks How long did it take to scan the missiles? The results look good. And what modelling program are you using there, it looks a bit like NURBS? Is that model derived directly from the stl file or did you need to trace? Thanks again.
  9. I don't suppose anyone knows what sort of price range is involved in getting small stuff scanned into 3D files?
  10. Thanks for the kind comments guys. Dok - So sorry to hear about your losses - that's like a sick joke. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for backing up - I have a separate HDD that archives every night through USB, so even a total power surge shouldn't get that even if it destroys most of my PC. I archive all of my master files and essentials every month or so on DVDs which I keep in a safe hidden location in case of another break-in (I lost my 1200 odd music CD collection to thieves as well as allot of other stuff a few years ago). Sorta helps to keep in mind that at some point every HDD will fail. When I finish a project or get to a milestone I compress the master files and email them to a Google GMail account which I use for storage. Sometimes they have to be split in separate emails but Maya files compress heavily. It gives me a little peace of mind in-case this place burns down or something.
  11. And Gattaca. One of my top 5 sci-fi faves. It's more of a drama than action movie tho. Might explain why it often gets passed over.
  12. I liked Avalon. It's about a girl who fights in a virtual world. It has a bit of The Matrix in there but is not heavy on action, instead focusing on the mundane. From director Mamoru Oshii who gave us Ghost in the Shell. Friends have absolutely loathed this film tho, so you've been warned.
  13. Their ordering system isn't the best but their staff are very good. If there's a problem they will sort it out fast.
  14. FP are way too small to have their own factory but the demand is too high for them to assemble the toys themselves. They hire factories to produce their toys as most smaller manufacturers do. Protector has been put on hold until later this year, but I was assured that it is still going ahead and that the design has changed mildly and is still being tweaked - they have invested too much time in it so far to not go ahead with it. In short FP wanted to get their own toys produced first before issuing another 'upgrade' set.
  15. eyesonme78 - thegunny is right tho, you can't expect HLJ to take responsibility for Singapore Post's mistake - if the package didn't get returned they would have sent out a free replacement. They will give you the option of a product refund or res-ending it. Vi-RS - that tracking number looks wrong with 14 digits - can you ask the seller to check it?
  16. FYI: The web-exclusive gray Q-Rea started shipping a few days ago.
  17. I'm liking the leg missile pods too Does it mention much info about that guitar stand? Specifically like how to get it.
  18. Shucks, thanks Dok Never modelled a VF-1 tho, just the VF-2SS, and that was almost 10 years ago Did some Mospeada stuff recently tho... The VF-2SS needs revising, but I just don't have the time now...: Yes, I still have that background template. -------------------------------------------- Keep 'em coming...
  19. My box was full of packaging foam that resembled white prawn crackers. :S ALLOT of it... light but annoying...
