No Beagle Blow Superior... that blows superior...
Tober replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's a model kit. I got Pest X-san the other day and put it together in about 2 hours. There were a few really fiddly moments assembling it, but it's a snap kit that's mostly pre-colored and doesn't require glue. Just be aware that Pest X-san is sold separately. i.e. the Oboro bike kit does not include the rider. -
I saw a Leia in slave gear, I think it had a separate kneeling torso in the package.

There were a few at Target Eastgardens the other day at $199. They will be reduced to $149 during the Target sale from the 22nd of July. link

Cool paneling. The Snowspeeder is my fave SW design next to the Lambda Shuttle. Has it been released here or did you import?
-
I particularly like the way the mini-guns are placed directly behind the propellers...
-
Saecon love He has a trident too

Thanks CF18 and Vifam7 I don't buy much Bandai product.
-
Thanks for the pics Vi-RS I think it looks good. Nice to see those black hinges at the tail section are now white. Not sure why the head guns are on a sprue tho...

I know it's frustrating. I have a parcel missing too (a book, unrelated). It all comes down to weather or not the parcel has actually been sent. If you do a charge-back and the parcel is proven to have been posted I'm not sure what actions could follow.

6 days doesn't seem that long really. I'd wait at least 10 working days before filing a dispute. I'd be surprised if your credit card co will let you reverse-charge at this stage. Does the tracking no they gave you have 13 digits? I've placed lots of orders with OD over the last few years and a few have had slight mishaps like a missing digit from the tracking no. But they've always answered my emails, within 48 hours at the latest. They've also had several problems with their email servers so that might be happening again. I've had some long email conversations with them too - their English seems pretty good - so you could try calling them I guess. As for that quote on their site, I know some of it at least is true. Doing a charge-back is expensive for a business as there is often a hefty fee involved on top of the charge-back. If you do decide to charge-back they can definitely blacklist you - in much the same way as we have a MacrossWorld Blacklist, so do they and their associates.

It means it's arrived at the destination country's office. May or may not be presented to customs. Probably depends on your local post office. Mine does (Australia).

'Shoegazers' refers to British Indie bands who would stand still on stage looking down rather than having allot of audience interaction... Yeah, definately Ride. Saw them in Sydney back in '92, still one of the best shows I've seen, and I've seen allot. Still have 'Nowhere' and 'Going Blank Again' on my iPod. Cocteau Twins were more hit and miss but 'Treasure' is fantastic.

Thanks Thor I ended up using a standard flatbed scanner and scanned the backs of the pieces along with a ruler at 600dpi and measuring templates from that. It's for a new head for Transformers Binaltech Arcee for which I am doing a 3D a re-sculpt but I wanted 3D scans to work with to make sure I got the dimensions right, otherwise it wont fit on the ball joint or might be over-sized which would stop it from being able to transform properly. I think I'm most of the way there now: The price for the service just blew me away tho, all I needed is raw 3D scan data to rework, I don't even need the scans to be cleaned or joined. So if you know someone who can do cheap scans there is a bunch or Mospeada stuff I would like to do...
-
Apparently all of the small recessed areas make it difficult to scan. It would require many passes and allot of clean-up work.
-
I'm currently trying to make an alternative head for Transformers Binaltech Arcee. I asked a few scanning bureaus for quotes on getting the two pieces below scanned and they were quoting between $500 to $800. The $500 was from the $90/hour place. Apparently many people are raving about the NextEngine 3D Desktop Scanner, but I don't want to blow $3000 just to scan a dozen or so small parts. Alternatively there is the DAVID laserscanning system, but apparently unless you are really good at mechanical engineering type applications it a very clumsy system. So if anyone has access to a scanner and wants to do a fellow MWer a decent deal let me know...

Looks like a good start. 1/1 scale replicas arn't really my thing but I'm sure it will look awesome all painted up etc.

HoiHoi-san LEGACY Oboro Plastic Kit -
Point was: Scale to cost ratio isn't applicable.
-
Doesn't really work like that either way. If it's 2/3 the size then it's 2/3 the height, 2/3 the width and 2/3 the depth. So 8/27 ratio volumetrically. Which puts it into the 70 000jpy range... However the 1/2000 is HDR and the 1/3000 is ABS, at least I expect so anyway. That will be the main influence as I understand it. So 50 000jpy could actually be roughly right.

Has any reason been given as to why they are using HD Resin instead of a more typical injection plastic like the Fan Jet? If it's a kit why are they charging so much? Or is it partially assembled like the SDF-1? At least the unassembled VF-1S was less expensive than the toy. Is it known if it will be using color resin or just they matte gray in the preview pic? So conflicted

That Akira Bike is beautiful. I have the McFarlane version and I thought that was big... Similar to the shot above. Bring the camera down to 'ground' level and closer to Stig, that way he will look bigger because he is closer to the camera and Kaneda is further away. -
It looks so small by comparison.
-
Nice Are you using Vector Rendering, Toon or MR Contour Shading?
-
That's some nice work. You really went to town on that VF-1. Hope you get some quality time to texture it up again too.
