Nope, I'm calling you out there. The Angel Birds and VF-X were initially mail-in exclusives for the Macross Chronicle magazine, not Web Shop exclusives. I don't remember them going up on any major Japanese online stores, except the later release where HLJ did not offer it to local customers - overseas only. The later release saw them widely available from HK sellers and their eBay stores.

I was under the impression that the 5% discount was only if you ordered before July 30th... And how does a retailer get a discount for a Yamato online web-shop exclusive, unless...

Thanks. Will let you know. The 5% discount should be roughly equivalent to the proxy fee. Then there's shipping... urgh... I don't think people will have a hard time getting one. But if you're after a sure thing then maybe keep your eyes on tokyo-hunter.com or shoot them an email. Otherwise wait to see if HLJ and the HK stores are taking orders.

So proxies have until the 15th of October to place orders, or September 3rd if you applied for the discount..? Am I reading that right. I can't see any mention of an order limit...

If hkcollectibles.com open a pre-order, it I'd order from them. I have used LocusHK before with no dramas, but they wouldn't be my first pick... I have a pre-order with 5% discount in Japan already, otherwise I'd be waiting on HKCollectibles as shipping from HK is much cheaper than Japan. Only problem with HK stores is that it might be trickier to get refunds/replacements...

Thanks tundrayeti, seems that the ownage.com site is being updated tho. Is your friend trying the david scanner setup? DarrinG, do you have other reference shots for that Beta cover? I took a look and it seems like a real pain... There is almost no clearance between the head and chest hatches.

Licensing. Hasbro got away with it back in the 80s, but I don't think they could today. The reason MP-12 Lambor (Sideswipe) isn't being released outside of Japan is that international licensing for Lamborghini isn't available. -
Yep, when Amiami started including the yellow slips in their packages I stopped ordering expensive items from them. If they state that they don't include support for broken/missing parts in their Terms and Conditions section then there is not much you can do about it. You could try contacting PayPal, but I'm not sure how far that would get you, and you would risk being blacklisted by Amiami. Unfortunately HLJ has indefinitely suspended offering a parts service to customers they didn't sell to. You could try contacting Yamato USA, they might be able to assist you, it believe it has happened before... Please let us know if that actually works.

No, I'm sure they did it with the 1/2000 SDF-1, but I don't think they offered a discount, but required a deposit instead. At the time the price was announced they also informed members of their club that there was a mass release version planned for later - that turned out to be the 1/3000 scale toy.

I asked HLJ about a month ago weather they were expecting to carry the VF-4G. The answer I got was similar. I had also asked about the 1/2000 SDF-1 and 1/60 Regult kits, they didn't expect to be stocking those either, but they did - the Regult later went on clearance for 20% off. So... They listed the exclusive Yamato Macross Frontier motorcycle helmets about 8 months ago. I think that was the last Yamato exclusive, I can't think of anything since. Alternatively, if HLJ's exclusivity agreement with Yamato has expired then there would be nothing stopping stores like Anime Export from opening orders...

Looks a bit ordinary, but the price is better than I was expecting. I think BANDAI will be out of renewal releases by the end of the year, so I'm thinking we could well be going back to two new releases a year by Yamato, at most.

Yeah, Shapeways has been getting some bad press lately. Although I've never used them myself, they were a cheaper option. So are you going to tell us who "this company" is? Claybox maybe? I've been using Moddler.com and have been reasonably happy with their output, although they have similar restrictions to Shapeways ( 0.2mm detail level - makes panel lines difficult). Oh, and I'm still looking for somewhere/one that can do 3D scanning for a reasonable price... Looks straight-forward enough. Depends on how that piece would attach to the Beta tho. I'll dig up mine over the weekend and have a look.

The MASS EFFECT 3 1/4 Scale Premium Figure - Sheppard Male version has just gone up for pre-order at Amiami. Looks good, great even, but I don't want to collect 1/4, so is it known if HT or anyone else has the 1/6 license? The Play Arts ME figs are too hit and miss for my tastes.. Mine are all okay still, Appleseed figs and Jill.

I have all of them. Those and Jill Valentine in the battle suit are all I have. ------ Was it confirmed that HT are doing the Batman: Arkham game series of figs? I don't like the movie so much, but I might crack if they do Arkham...

Wasn't it just the VF-25F Tornado Movie set that had the blue tinge? Or was it the super bundle as well? When the VF-25S Armor bundle was released was it recolored too? I stopped buying V.1 VF-25 Valks after the first release.
