What you see is what you get, I don't remember there being any problems with Asuka. She doesn't come with an eye patch face tho. Mandrake have one for 3000jpy but the shipping could be killer to where you are. link.

Has it actually, factually been established that Yamato "went bust"? Takara (Transformers) and Tomy merged back in 2006 in order to cut costs and stay afloat. Isn't it possible that Yamato did something similar with Arcadia..? -------- Unless Arcadia pull of some amazing engineering for a 1/72 line, I'm basically done collecting the VF-1 line. I have all of the Valks I truly want.
-
How is paying a lot more winning..? Web exclusives work for lower demand or more obscure valks/products that retailers are reluctant to carry. I've never had a problem pre-ordering Yamato products, except for exclusives, which fortunately HLJ were able to carry later.

There's no info on Arcadia's site about any Macross product, yet that Temjin 30th scheme was seen at their Wonder Festival 2013 booth four months ago, along with a few other upcoming Macross products. Farewell Yamato, hello Arcadia of my youth, It's just visible cropped on the far left. They don't usually allow photography at booths as they sell exclusive content to magazines. Much the same way that Graham was asked not to discuss upcoming products until magazine pictures/content had been publicly released.

We don't even know for certain that Yamato/Arcadia doesn't still have the VF-1 license, do we..? They were re-releasing the VF-1 series with option parts, and the FAST pack set, so why didn't they also do the VT-1 and M&M re-releases as well..? Bandai didn't seem to do so well with the !/100 VF-1 series. So I'm not sure they would be interested in the 1/60 license. Yamato did a good job at saturating the market with them. Arcadia showed a few Macross pieces at Wonderfest. So maybe, maybe, maybe...

Are you being facetious?

Your point being..?

Which team is that? I've heard that T-REX have been working for BANDAI, and I've heard that the team that developed the BANDAI VF-25 model kits were involved with the renewal toys. Given that BANDAI are now making VF-1 kits I wonder if that could evolve into a new toy line too. Probably not, but still... Summer Wonderfest is at the end of July. Arcadia was unveiled at the last WF, so I suspect they should be there again and might provide some definitive answers. Or maybe Save can arrange that visit to their offices he mentioned a few months ago...

I tend to be drawn towards transforming toys with exceptional engineering. Usually complex, but there is an art to creating great transforming toys that are simple too. The Yamato 1/48 and 1/60 Valks, Transformers Masterpiece line and Beagle Mospeadas are amongst my favorites, along with some Transformers Classics. There's a definite nostalgia factor in there too.

That's kinda interesting... I wonder how much of that is hardcore Robotech and how much is Mech Warrior/Battletech/other..?

Tober replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, that's Encore - Fortress Maximus which is a re-issue of the G1 toy. Generations - Metroplex is a 'Classics' style revision of G1 Metroplex, who was the other Autobot transforming base. Apparently he is slightly larger than Fort Max. (G1 Metroples was smaller than Fort Max tho). Comparison teaser pic. Yeah, Generations is a toy line. Many of the toys are seen in IDW's various comics series, no TV show.- 16669 replies

Yeah, it tends to be contextual. I've never heard of HLJ blacklisting anyone for canceling, but that doesn't mean they haven't. I've canceled heaps of stuff over the 10 years I've been using them, they have never mentioned anything, but they have an automated system so I'm not too sure they would even notice unless they investigate or filter accounts with high cancellation rates... AmiAmi, Anime Export, Hobby Search and Otacute don't really permit cancellations, and warn that they may blacklist you if you try it. I once accidentally double ordered something at Amiami and asked that they remove one of them, and they did so with no fuss. That was a while ago when their ordering system was much more clumsy tho, there was no user account system back then... I've heard of people being able to cancel pre-orders with Amiami if the released item was vastly different from the preview images (eg Transformers MP-3 Starscream) or if items are not as described - I think there were mass cancellations of the Macross: Do You Remember Love Blu-ray sets as edits and quality were unacceptable to some fans. Ultimately it comes down to weather a site sees you as a valuable customer or a pain-in-the-butt.

I had something similar happen with Anime Export. Email them and ask if you're worried about it.

There used to be a rough pattern, about 18 months ago, of a Valkyrie one month, then super/armor parts the next, then another Valkyrie. etc... roughly... I don't think that BANDAI re-issues Tamashii exclusives, but I'm happy to be wrong about that. The re-issue of the YF-29 Alto was around this time last year, but I don't recall the Super Parts for it being re-issued. However, fiscally it makes no sense not to reuse the Super/Armor Parts molds in a set, so I still anticipate we will see combined sets announced later in the year. No sign of Super Parts for the VF-25G or RVF-25, or Tornado Parts for the VF-25F or VF-25G. Super Parts were seen in a hobby magazine for the VF-171 Nightmare Plus. No Ghosts or Speaker Pod sets either. Only prototype parts have been seen for the YF-27 Super Parts - at the same event that the VF-171 NP and RVF-25 were revealed. Why would there be? They use the same molds.
-
The only tip I've posted was from a few days ago when I emailed HLJ and they told me roughly when the RVF-25 was going to be listed. That was pure luck. I'm not sure what the 'big secret tip' that's being circulated by PM is.
-
I could theorise that they may have gone through and reduced anyone's order that ordered more than one. I know other stores that do that (3A Toys). Could explain the larger number of 171s and few 25Fs... But yeah, anticipating HLJ isn't easy.
