  1. Just because Macross II doesn't specifically mention something does not mean it did not happen. Maybe there is cloning, maybe there isn't. Maybe there is extra solar colonization, maybe there isn't. It's not specifically stated one way or another, and anyway, is cloning or colonization mentioned at the end of DYRL? Nooo. And Macross II was supposed to be a sequel to DYRL. Keith, we have been over this before, but there's nothing in DYRL that says that can't use can't use salvaged Zentradi ships as building materials, the Macross firing its cannon into space is NOT identified as a booby trap in Macross II (it's something about excess energy building up and firing off periodically, and while it's not something that appears anywhere else, it's not really explained either, so who knows where they were going with that), and just because you don't see colonization doesn't mean it's not there, and anyway, DYRL doesn't mention colonization at all, and if you want FB2012 to be in between DYRL and Macross II, who is to say they didn't send colony fleets out 70 years ago? There's nothing in Macross II that says that DIDN'T happen. There's nothing that says it did. It is simply not addressed. Just because you do not see something does not mean it's not there. The number of Zentradi left around is a total non-sequitor and has nothing to do with anything. In fact, I think DYRL supports having less Zentradi around, because at the end of the movie, Britai says they are going to go hunt down some of the millions of other Zentradi fleets cruising around the universe or something like that. As for culture park, I always assumed it was like Disneyland or whatever and it was not authentic so much as a history lesson. DYRL is pretty clear that most of the world is burned beyond recognition, much worse than in the TV show. Of course they were using Zentradi ships to rebuild and I think 70 years is plenty of time to build some mock-ups of monuments of the past to educate the post-war youth.
  2. I'm not sure why you guys are bothering to explain how Macross II does not line up with the SDF Macross TV series or subsequent Macross works when it was intended to be a sequel to DYRL. Naturally it follows that line of thinking, not the TV show or later Macross works which also followed the TV show. The question is not does it contradict the TV series or other Macross works, but does it contradict DYRL?
  3. Rereleasing old shows hardly sounds like a turning point for Macross to me...
  4. Sort of? It's the alternate ending animated specifically for the Robotech The Movie version of Megazone 23.
  5. That's all vague maybe speak. What they said WOULD happen is the Botcon exclusives are based on Classics toys.
  6. Well, unfortunately the Classics line is over with. I'd love to see more, but that's not happening.
  7. And now you're assuming that it's easy to track down the rights from the folded company, if they folded. Could easily be like DYRL where a bunch of different companies had a stake and now the rights are unclear. Maybe it's not complex at all, but maybe it's just not worth the extra bucks to license something when they can just use stuff they already own. Who knows?
  8. Thank you both very much! I already have a rip of the footage from the LD but I was hoping to get my own copy to try to get a higher quality rip. This is super helpful. I was never able to find the cover of either the LD it was nor the DVD. The DVD thing I couldn't even confirm until now, though I heard it before. Thanks a ton both of you!
  9. Oh come on, pretty much all GTA games have been "exclusive" where they are exclusive for a while and then go to other systems. This is nothing new and has absolutely nothing to do with PSP numbers. GTA 1 was PC exclusive and later came out on PS1, GTAII was PC exclusive and later came out on Dreamcast, GTAIII was PS2 exclusive and later came out on Xbox and PC, et cetera.
  10. I know this is a longshot, but does anyone know which Japanese Megazone 23 LD is the one that has the ending for the Robotech The Movie version of Megazone 23 Part One? Or do they all have it? The one I'm looking at the cover has Shogo driving on the Garland in bike mode with Yui and the two punk chicks next to her on a yellow background with a yellow Megazone 23 logo (with blue outline on the letters) and Part II written in white letters on a little red box, and then a thick green line is down the left side which says among other things, Megazone 23 Part II. Does anyone know if this DVD has the Robotech ending on it?
  11. It's too bad all this "creative" marketing is for a boring concept album that is even more bland than the last NIN album. Excuse me Trenticle, people did not like your work because it was boring rock with a synthesizer instead of a real bass, you know?
  12. I ordered replacement ball sockets for mine and I got them in like a week, tops. No problems at all.
  13. This stuff looks okay, but is it just me, or does everything Kawamori does now look kinda like his Armored Core work? It's like he has developed a "house style" of sorts. I also wonder how much of this is a result of having a bunch of assistants clean up his sketchy design work. But the gerwalk-looking thing is pretty cool. The story premise is still pretty generic, but hopefully it will be watchable.
  14. Guys, no need to mod anything. The wings go down on their own.
  15. Hey Valk fan, any chance you would want to make a more normal VF-1S looking head for Jetfire that is either the size of the small Skyfire head, or is like the big head but without that weird pole that is holding the head lasers away? The head itself is okay, but those lasers shoul dbe right up against the head...
  16. So ironically I went to Target at lunch and found Jetfire at long last. There was only ONE Jetfire, but now it's sitting on my desk. I really like it a lot. Slight paint smudge on the VF-1S-looking head. Everyone has talked about it already, but I'm super pleased.
  17. I have still never seen a Jetfire in person and really want one, but am not will to pay $40 for a $20 toy on ebay.
  18. Yeah, it's great news when she can pronounce the names correctly, but not the rest of the dialogue.
  19. Yeah, I think I will pass on that one.
  20. Okay, then what are they if they are not the exact same thing?
  21. Well, I was not looking for likely, I was looking for what actually happened. I wish Egan Loo or someone would speak up.
