  1. I believe the traditional Hollywood move at this point is a remake of the original movie. Time to reboot Star Wars, with a reimagining the likes of which you've never seen before.
  2. I keep forgetting there IS a scale these days. Much like Starscream, trainbots will probably be built to robot scale, resulting in a silly small train.
  3. Not gonna lie, I really like Grendizer wearing the shuttle as a power suit("boxer frame", as a diffrent franchise called that idea). Sure power arror for a giant robot is stupid, but it is an AWESOME kind of stupid.
  4. Look on the bright side. It could've been yet another Optimus Prime.
  5. That is a lot of Voltrons. I feel bad for whatever robeast provoked this.
  6. Nice. Very nice.
  7. Mine had the knee connectors break off, then the chest module basically came apart in my hands. I kept the chest fighter jet and footcars.
  8. That is absolutely what I meant. You know, some days I miss my big chunky Vehicle Voltron. Sure he had the posability of a brick, sure mine didn't come with fists(yay Toys R Us markdown rack!), but darn it, he was BIG!
  9. I just had an amazing realization about what is likely accidental continuity. So there's the lion Voltron episode where Doom builds a fake Voltron and the wreck its shizzle by detaching the arms? And they decide that the next time they build a fake Voltron they're including the separate lions instead of just the giant robot. Right? And then in Fleet of Doom Lotor shows up with five robeasts that combine to form a bootleg Voltron, complete with "blazing scimitar", and gets his shizzle wrecked anyways. (In fairness, he wasn't counting on fighting two Voltrons. No one should have to fight two Voltrons. Life's just not fair sometimes.) It really seems like a follow-up on the fake Voltron episode. That's all. Edit to ask: Soul of Chogokin Voltron Robeast when? (Never, I presume)
  10. No, I was thinking of an energy piece that goes between the hands, without the sword there. Like in the cartoon, after Keith says "Form blazing sword!". You know, I remember that as being more impressive. Thanks, Youtube, you ruined my childhood.
  11. You need to get a black Spiderman so you can tribute the Marvel series encounter too.
  12. Well, Voltron was much bigger than the originals. Also, a lot of the Robotech hate was directly borne of Harmony Gold's anti-Macross statements and maneuvers. Declare war on the fanbase and they turn against you. I think the japanese market can be succinctly summarized as "bombed horribly". And in America, Lion Voltron was MUCH more popular than Vehicle Voltron, to the extent that World Event Productions abandoned plans to adapt Albegas into a Voltron in favor of commissioning an extra twenty episodes of Lion Voltron from Toei that are not part of Golion. ... But Vehicle Voltron is still best Voltron. A robot made out of lions? Ridiculous nonsense! They don't even LOOK like lions!
  13. I tell ya, that was my one complaint with Lion Voltron, there wasn't a "form blazing sword" energy piece in the box.
  14. Yes, actually. "After several upgrades by Deep Space 9 Operations Chief Miles O'Brien, the ship was deemed worthy of use and more ships of the class were constructed. (DS9: "The Search, Part I", "Call to Arms"; VOY: "Message in a Bottle") " Aapparently O'Brien was COMPLETELY wasted on Ent-D's transporter and Deep Space 9. He's better than all Starfleet's best shipwrights put together. (All credit to Memory Alpha)
  15. Yes. I laughed during Into Darkness, because what else are you supposed to do when Spock is Shatner-ing it up and shouting "KAHHHHHHHHHHN!" at the top of his lungs? A Spock that doesn't even LIKE Kirk, at that.
  16. I've not used Index nor Rift S, but I'm glad to see more people getting into VR. I've got an original Rift, and access to a Quest, and think VR is super-awesome and everyone needs it.
  17. I came out of the 09 film thinking "Abrams wanted to do Star Wars". Pity he got the chance(though I dunno how much of 7 was his fault vs Disney's).
  18. Into Darkness was awful, on pretty ruch every level. The first of the series was an interesting take on things. I have complaints, but it was noless un-Trek than, say, First Contact. I didn't see Beyond because Into Darkness was so bad.
  19. I hadn't heard plans, but expected nothing great. Lucas forgets that he had a LOT of very talented help on the original films, and people capable of telling him "no". The big problem the prequels had is that Lucas bought his own hype. He thought he made the original movies, and he didn't need advice from anyone else. But he did. He SO did.
