Captain Protoculture disagrees. And I think he knows more about the invids than you. Seriously, are we going to grammar-nitpick a post that was blatantly making fun of the entire franchise? I thought we were better than that.

Well, I mean there was no reason for the Combiner Wars Sky Lynx to not turn into two separate creatures either, and here we are.- 17059 replies

I think my dogs have read the Book of Chip. He's a cutie. On-topic, I kinda love Gold Lightan. He's ugly and boxy, but on the other hand... giant robot cigarette lighter is too ridiculous to hate.

Hold on a second! That is completely wrong! Those aren't supposed to be androids, they're supposed to be holograms! ... Wait, never mind. The decommissioned EMH Mk 1 programs wound up in mining, not construction. CARRY ON. Seriously, though, Trek's brought out the "are artificial lives even really people" story about once every three years since Data was introduced. Only being taken off the air could stop the cycle.

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
JB0 replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
I would think they could extrapolate to some degree what form the ship's owners took by the equipment present on it. Just looking at the dimensions of doors, hallways, and control placements will carry some implications. My assumption would be that they knew they were roughly human-shaped(two arms, two legs, similar proportions), but not "just like humans". I'm sure the resident experts will have an astonishingly comprehensive level of detail on this later. -

That's mentioned in the first episodes of SDF as well. Focker notes that the battroids were built to fight giants, but they didn't know the giants were so human. -
What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

What other reason does a man need? -
There was Robotech Remastered, which used previously unused scenes from the source cartoons to create an extended Robotech. But yeah, Remix is the current comix.

I think the miniature PPB was new for Project Supernova, so the VF-19 & -22 should be it for production models. -
No, that's just the miracle of ZOR prime and his "unique" posting style.

Presumably because it gives them time to do a decent translation job. -
What. That has to be the dumbest piece of anti-science to ever show up in Star Trek, and that says a LOT.

Enterprise also just wasn't very good, and followed a show that also wasn't very good. It had nothing to do with being diffrent. It was more traditionally Trek than Voyager, but also more maligned. And Voyager was more traditionally Trek than Deep Space 9, which is fairly popular(Sisko is best captain).

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
JB0 replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It is more the idea of the Transformers having inanimate vehicles. Like, I expect EVERYTHING to be a robot, because that's how they've treated it with only a few notable exceptions(mostly starships, except when their role is filled by Astrotrain and Sky Lynx instead). I don't have this hangup with Transformers riding Transformers(also the title of my racy fanfic), even though that's objectively sillier. I'm just going to tell myself that his motorbike is actually a lesser mechanical life form, and keep repeating "he's riding a cybertronic horse" until I start believing it.- 9255 replies

Sort of a super-advanced YF-12? That's fitting, given the real-world design influence. -

Yeah, the market for midrange KVM switches dried up. Or was actively killed to protect the high cost of "real business" switches. -
Best episodes of Voyager is surely damning with faint praise.
