  1. Using old Star Trek scenes as stock footage ensures you know that this is real Star Trek, just like you used to watch, and that you should love it because it gives you the nostalgia feels.
  2. My local Target had a shitton of Siege stuff, and (micromasters excepted) TWO Earthrise figures. One was Astrotrain, who is a crappy shuttle which is an instant kill for me. The other was Optimus, who is MUCH nicer. But I have roughly four million, six hundred and three Optimii already. One more red square-cab truck doesn't exactly tickle my fancy. Behind the two was an entire shelf load of Shockwave.
  3. What I read is that part was going to be over people expressing anti-klingon sentiment, not militarism. He felt people in Trek were beyond judging others by their genetic heritage. Especially James "I have never trusted klingons, and I never will" Kirk. The Undiscovered Country is a good movie, though. And a good Trek story, too.
  4. The first law compelled them to exterminate humanity before it bore witness to the show, as death was the lesser harm.
  5. Can we call it "Crasher" again? You misunderstand. It isn't a show spoiler. It is a wing you attach to Ultra Magnus to make him go faster.
  6. Everything is Al Gore's fault!11 I am with you on a potential Kuro version. I really like Windblade, and I'd like to see more done with her. Especially on the high end.
  7. Apparently some folks found the plastic robot offensive, some folks found the offense offensive, names were called, both sides declared themselves the gatekeepers of the hobby and that the others aren't even really Transformers fans... The last statement is probably even true. I'd bet most of the commotion on both sides is coming from people that just want to start trouble and think only children should play with toy robots. And once it got going on Twitter, everyone registered all the accounts they needed to get it going everywhere. Because no one can have nice things anymore. We built this internet, now we have to live with the consequences.
  8. *looks things up* Oh. Well. That seems to have gotten out of hand rather rapidly. Some thermonuclear drama bombs went off over there.
  9. Seriously? They already cancelled it?!
  10. As a kid, I wanted Sky Lynx so bad. Not because of the character but because he was a robot dinosaur space shuttle, which was most of my buttons in one toy. He's always been a favorite. Speaking of pushing my buttons... I want that Windblade!
  11. Speaking of magnificience... the shuttle mode has an 80s NASA logo and orbiter name painted on it. Sky Lynx transforms into the STS Magnificience.
  12. Yeah, they missed that trend by a decade. They shoulda gone with twelve-year-olds in their underwear to get anime fans when Shadow Chronicles came out. ... So Robotech did one thing right.
  13. Awww, be fair. It isn't awful because of any political agenda. It is awful because it is written and illustrated by the cheapest "talents" available. ... Or possibly just because it is Robotech.
  14. Sorta somewhere inbetween, really. Attempts at inclusiveness/diversity/whatever tended to be rather blatant, with the cast becoming a checklist. But the writing wasn't equally hamhanded. Arguably, the diversity was only superficial, as the writing didn't reflect the implied backgrounds of the casting. But it is also arguable that they were all written as just people, rather than "the black one", "the female one", and "the mexican one". (Unarguably, Power Rangers wasn't thinking AT ALL when they made the black kid the Black Ranger and the asian kid the Yellow Ranger.)
  15. All we need now is who, where, and when.
