Or it could be an open matte/full frame transfer. They actually use 4:3 film to MAKE the movies, and then crop them to 16:9. And with home sales being so big, a lot of movies are made keeping both the central 16:9 stripe AND the full frame in mind. It's likely that's what happened with Macross Plus. They drew the full frames while keeping the theaterical letterboxing in mind. If it bothers you, just tape some black strips of paper along the top and bottom of your TV.

So THAT'S why holodecks are so popular on Star Trek.

That is obviously a different kind of love. That's open to debate, but I believe it was the same kind. It wasn't that she didn't feel "that way" about Guld, but she prefered Isamu. But Isamu refused to grow up, and he wasn't available anyways(having just entered into a relationship with Lucy). So she settled for Guld, who was both more mature and open.

It doesn't have to...with some celing track and some electric motors, you could have a formation of 1/48s flying around in the air! That would kick SO much ass. Yeah, until one hit you in the head...... Yah... "Ummm, duck on the way in. I've got planes flying around on the ceiling."

I gave it a go recently and watch about the first 5 or 6 episodes. Some of th stuff I liked (hey, it's Macross!), but Basara and his song was too much for me. But for those who like it, enjoy! But for me, I'll stick to the original, Mac+, and Zero Interestingly enough, I saw Basara as a sort of hook. My reaction was "what the HELL is wrong with this boy?!?!" Followed by genuine curiosity.

But she did. At least if Sharon can be believed, and as I understood things Sharon was a rather reliable source as far as analyzing Myung's emotional state went.

I've used both. Ease of use is similar, and ZSNES is FAR superior in terms of emulation accuracy. Especially sound. I'll use it once a new sound core is implemented. Sounds you say? I'll see if this has a new version, but I really have to find time. Been busy lately. SNES9x is still using a quite inaccurate sound core as of the current version. I actually speak with one of the developers occasionally. He's working on a new sound core, but it was far too glitchy for inclusion in the current release.

Nope. Bad information, the OVA came first. I know hte OVA was released first. What I mean is the movie was the original script from before marketing asked for an OVA. ... Found the source. Over on Macross Compendium, for those that care. http://macross.anime.net/fallacies/index.html

Basara's quite a character. Does he attack you with a mech if you don't? Basara's shot people for not stopping to listen. Granted they were busy trying to kill other people, but ...

Maybe he ate something he was REALLY allergic to?

I like what I've seen. It's odd, but in a good way.

NO! NO! Don't add to the confusion! Macross7 is NOT based on DYRL's chain of events. DYRL is a movie within the Macross universe where Max and Milia play themselves. No I'm not joking. Macross7's storyline is a direct sequel to the Macross TV series. Macross7's Max and Milia were married as Miclones while flying a valkyrie around as portrayed in the TV series. Macross7 only borrows things VISUALLY from DYRL, one of them being Exedol's appearance. Within the story, wouldn't DYRL's Exedol just be styled after the CURRENT appearance of the real-life one, as opposed to how he looked then? Even in the real world, "historical" movies often change things drastically to appeal to the masses that already "know" how something happened. Or just to spite historians, I think. ... Anyways, it would be logical to assume that Exedol in DYRL was styled after his appearance at the time of the movie so as to avoid confusing audience members who had seen recent pictures of him.

It's 4 years late now. I ASSUME it's launch has been delayed by paperwork. Damned beaurocratic red tape. -

I have this image of cola machines attacking each other now. All it takes is for the AI to be programmed to terminate competitors. ... Just don't get caught in the cross fire while a turf war is going on. I've heard that a can of Dr. Pepper can be deadly if it's moving fast enough. -
I prefer the NES game. ... I just need a hacked emualtor that plays a Shao Pai Lon MP3 instead of the NES rendition. And it's zSnes. Geez, people...

The real world is nothing like Macross untill an alien vessel crashes to EArth. THEN I will agree with you. ... Especially if technology from this vessel is used to make walking coke machines. -
Spring-loaded weapons. Those rule. ... (obligatory rediculous request) I wanna be able to fire every last Phalanx missile independently.

It's a description of the translation. ... And to be accurate, I think they're divx files. Just because something's named *.avi doesn't mean AVI is the file format. An AVI can be any number of formats.

As I understand it,it's actually the other way around. The movie was the original version, and marketing asked for an OVA to use to build up anticipation.
